Another great Josie Quinn book! This one was a roller coaster of emotions with some surprising twists. Keep your tissues close! The characters, including secondary ones, are interesting and complex, and I liked learning more about Anya's background. Reading a JQ book is like visiting your old friends. I can't wait to see what the gang gets up to next.
Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC.

Close Her Eyes is book 17 in the Josie Quinn series and the best one yet! There were plenty of twists that I didn’t see coming and was definitely a heartbreaker. I love this series and can’t wait to see what is in store for Josie next. Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for this Arc.

I am a big fan of Lisa Regan and her Detective Josie Quinn series! This novel holds up to all the rest! I enjoyed following Josie and Mett as they investigate the murder of a young women that leads them to a neighboring town. The twists and turns that come along with the investigation kept me on my toes! I highly recommend this book, just make sure you start with the first one in the series!

Another great Josie Quinn book. They just keep getting better and better. I love Josie and all the other characters. When a woman is murdered and found with a cattle brand on her, the medical examiner was shocked because she had seen that before. Lots of twists and turns that kept me up late reading. Loved it and highly recommend this series.

Wow. I am continuously blown away by Lisa Regan’s writing, she seriously amazes me with her plot, the development of the characters and the continuous arc of her stories and how well they flow. I find every Josie Quinn book emotional because Lisa Regan always explores hard topics in such a respectful and heartfelt manner but they can be emotional and heartbreaking at the same time. Close Her Eyes was one of the most emotional and heartbreaking of the series. It’s taken me a couple days to write this review to properly articulate how much i loved this book but how much it also broke me. Josie is remarkable as always- her strength never ceases to amaze me and know that we are seeing how the trauma she has faced and how its affecting her to this day and how she’s now having to deal with those emotions and how they affect her to this day. The scene in the hospital where she is catapulted back into a harsh memory was a really good scene to read. Seeing how strong her and Noah and how their relationship is so solid and beautiful, how they love, care and respect one another more and more is always encouraging to read. Noah is amazing and I just adore him and how he is such a solid presence for Josie and how he has this peace that seems to seep from him at all times. I love seeing all of our secondary characters from Anya, Trinity, Drake, Mettner, Gretchen, Amber, Harris, Misty, Chief Chitwood and i mean who does’t adore Trout! This heartbreaking but heart mending read shows the dangers of life and careers and domestic violence. Thank-you for a great read Lisa Regan!

Well what can I say I’m speechless at just how brilliant this book was and I can’t believe it’s book 17 and the series is just as compelling and fresh as it was when I read the first book. The plot in this latest offering is a complex one with Josie and the team trying to figure out a story with many facets we have murders that seem to be connected but just how is the biggest mystery here with many twist and turns.
I was surprised many times as when I thought I had sussed out the plot I was then taken aback by just how wrong I was and that for me goes to prove what a fabulous writer Lisa Regan is to be always completely at the top of her game is such an achievement, wow girl you know how to keep the suspense going !
So I was sad to finish the book for more than one reason of which I’m not going to elaborate on but I can promise you it’s a stunning read so don’t miss out !
My thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

How will I ever recover from this book? Or even just enjoy another book so much?

This was book 17 and it's in the running for my top 3 faves of the series (although, there's one part that makes that so hard to say 🤐).

Full of the characters we've followed from early days, loads of twists and mystery, it's a real whodunit police procedural thriller. One of the ones where you can guess and guess and still end up shocked and trying to turn the pages quicker.

This was so perfect - the writing, the pacing, the emotion and just ALL of it. Just maybe one part I wish could be taken back (IYKYK).

If you're thinking about reading this standalone, it would work - the plot was outstanding. BUT, I'm not so sure it'd all hit the same. The characters, their development, the connections and relationships over time is one of the reasons I keep coming back for more of Josie and the team.

Plus, if you don't start at book 1 you'll miss book 3 and so many other gems 😆 all 4-5 stars for me! So yeah, I recommend this AND the whole series.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.

I am a huge fan of this series. Josie, Noah, Anya, Mett, Amber, even the chief are all massive characters who I have invested in and the detail in the writing really makes me feel like I know them.

When a girl is found dead, the team is called in. Dr Fields does the autopsy as usual. What she sees shocks her to the core. This leads Josie into a spiral into past cases. Are they related.

Loved this instalment. As always it was so well written with twists and turns in every chapter.

It broke my heart at the end and I’m truly gutted. Looking forward to the next one already.

4.5/5
The newest Josie Quinn book has Josie and her team investigating the death of a woman who is found with a brand on her body (like cow brand, not clothing brand). Things become more complicated when medical examiner Anya reveals that she has the same brand as a result of her abusive ex-husband. As they investigate him and Anya's past, more and more secrets are uncovered.

This was another great mystery full of twists and turns! There were a few big twists in here too that I definitely didn't see coming. This is one of my favorite mystery series, and I can't wait to read more!

I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to Lisa and NetGalley for allowing me to read Close Her Eyes before the publication date.
The description of the book says it all.

All roads seem to lead to Bly, where the powerful and wealthy Hadlee family have links to people in high places.
Add in Garrick Wolfe, the ME who mentored Anya Feist and who also wields power and influence, but in a slightly less obvious manner.

Trinity Payne is a journalist and Josie Quinn’s twin sister. Trinity is working with a source who will give her information about the death in Bly of 19 year old Jana Melburn which was ruled as accidental, which the source claims was murder.

Can Josie and Trinity find a way to work together without breaching their own code of ethics?

As you would expect from Lisa, there are so many threads to this story and there are plenty of twists and turns before the truth is revealed.
For a book club discussion, there is plenty to ponder on the question of nature vs. nurture.
For example, twins, Josie and Trinity were separated and raised in very different households.
Meanwhile, Hallie and Mathias were raised in the same care home before setting up home and becoming Jana’s guardians.

Close Her Eyes by Lisa Regan is book #17 in the Detective Josie Quinn Mystery series. There are cold cases and recent cases. Detective Josie Quinn has a lot on her hands this time. All the Denton, PA detectives get tied up in the investigations. This book has a very complex, action-packed storyline. There's plenty of tension and suspense. Add in lots of danger and this becomes a very entertaining thriller. The one thing I did question though was why the Denton police didn't call in the state police for assistance. It seemed to me that some of the situations in the book called for a little help. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Absolutely heartbreaking 5 🌟
I was honored to get an ARC of the latest in this awesome series. Lisa Regan does it again. After Eve Dallas and the In Death series, this is my favorite. I love Josie Quinn and all the supporting cast of characters. The growth these characters have had is phenomenal. Lisa manages to make their stories real, while fiction, one becomes so engrossed and invested in their lives and growth.
I love Lisa's writing style. There's enough to paint a picture but doesn't become a boresome run-on of needless descriptive prose. She also manages to throw in enough background that in a reader jumps in at #17, they aren't lost. While each book in this series can definitely serve as a stand-alone read, I highly advise starting at the beginning and learning these characters as they evolve and grow. It's a wondrous thing to watch.
Now, without including spoilers, I will say, have your hankie ready. I ugly cried twice towards the end. I thought I knew where the sadness would come from, but I was totally thrown for a loop.
Two things I loved about this book and others in the series were the focus on an individual supporting character and learning their background story. I love learning more about the character's pasts, and this time, it was Dr. Anya Feist's turn. I also adored the scene between Josie and Chief Chitwood in the ER exam room. I literally LOL'd reading it.
I will end this by saying that the ending was so sweet and definitely needed to bring Josie further in her healing and growth. Lisa Regan rocks!!!
Thank you, Netgalley, for the opportunity to receive and review this ARC. This review is my own opinion and will be cross-posted

Josie Quinn and her team are called in to investigate the death of a young woman whoś body was found
in a remote area. When the body is taken to autopsy, the Medical Examiner is stunned when she sees that the body has an identical brand mark to hers. Has her past come back to haunt her? Will there be more branded bodies found and will Josie and her team be able to find the one who is responsible?

This is the most emotional book of the series so far, I was not expecting the roller coaster that the characters I have come to love experience and the tragedy that happens.

I do need to warn readers that they need to be aware that once you start this book, you will not want to do anything else until you have finished it. Lisa Regan continues to make me want more of the wonderful Josie Quinn!

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC.

I loved this story! I could not put my kindle down. I was hooked from the beginning and didn't want it to end. Great suspense!

Although this is book 17 in the series, I have only read this one, and it didn't take away from the story. I will be going back to read more of the series because I loved this one.

Great characters, a great storyline that is going to keep you guessing on who did it! I had my suspicion on part of it that was correct, but I didn't see it on the on the other part! This is the first book I have read by this author and I am looking forward to reading many more in the future.

Thank you Net-Galley for the opportunity to read an early copy!

Oh my goodness. This one kept me up all night reading. I just couldn’t put it down.
Josie is on the hunt for whoever killed a 19 year old girl. This leads us to learning more about Anya, which I loved getting more in depth with her.
The team is using all of their resources to figure this out.
This one left me an emotional wreck. The only bad part about Lisa Regans book, once you start you can’t stop. Therefore, they don’t last long enough.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Lisa for the chance to read and review this one. Lisa has become one of my favorite authors.

Wow! This book is a fast-paced, twisted crime thriller! As Detective Josie Quinn and her team races to find answers to a body found by a creek, an autopsy reveals a chilling and unsuspecting truth. As bodies stack up with limited evidence, a thread of conflicting conclusions test the assumptions made on the case. Josie and her team must keep pressing to get the job done. Murder, lies and many twists kept me turning the pages to reach the end. Great job with this incredible book Lisa Regan! Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!

Close Her Eyes Detective Josie Quinn #17

Lisa Regan does it again with Close Her Eyes as she weaves a richly detailed story. Det Josie Quinn is just as unstoppable in this book as she was when we first met her and her character only gets better.
Dr Anya Feist takes centre stage as her past comes roaring back to haunt her, and it’s not long before Josie and the team are called in and lines of the past are blurred with the recent murders in Denton.
Family secrets, lies, stonewalling, violence and a tragedy that hits too close to home round out this mountain of case as Josie and her team work to solve it. This was a great rollercoaster of a read invoking many emotions.
