Meet Me at the Wedding by Georgia Toffolo is the last book in the "Meet Me" series. I really liked this book, but I recommend reading the other books first. This was my first introduction to the series, so I felt like I was missing out a bit!

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I found the characters unlikeable, the plot a bit tired, and the dialogue to be the weakest part of the book. I do not think this author is for me.

REVIEW: Meet Me at the Wedding

Georgia Toffolo's Meet Me at the Wedding is a charming and lighthearted romantic comedy that delivers precisely what it promises: a delightful escape. The story follows Lily, a woman navigating the complexities of family, friendship, and love in the lead-up to her sister's Wedding in a picturesque Italian setting.

Toffolo's warm and engaging writing style makes it easy to connect with Lily and her relatable struggles. The characters are likable, and their dynamics, particularly within Lily's family, provide humor and heartwarming moments. The Italian backdrop is vividly described, adding a touch of glamour and escapism to the narrative. It's clear Toffolo loves Italy, and that shines through.

The romance in the story is sweet and predictable but comforting. It's not necessarily groundbreaking, but it provides the feel-good factor this type of book aims for. The pacing is generally good, keeping the reader invested in Lily's journey and the various subplots surrounding the wedding preparations.

However, the book has minor flaws. Resolving specific conflicts feels too neat. While the characters are likable, they could have benefited from more depth and complexity.

Despite these minor shortcomings, Meet Me at the Wedding is a thoroughly enjoyable read. It's the perfect choice for anyone looking for a light, breezy, and feel-good romance to curl up with.

This book was the fourth in a series, which I wasn’t previously aware of when I requested this ARC. While I don’t think it was necessary to read the first 3 in order to understand this one, I do think it may have made this one more enjoyable to be better connected to the characters and their background.

This book wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t anything special for me. It was a typical romance, but a bit more cheesy than I typically enjoy.

I still plan on going back and reading the first book in the series because I’ve heard that one is pretty good.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my free copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is an emotional enemies-to-lovers romance. Lily is working on planning her friend's wedding, but when the venue's owner dies, his son cancels the plans. This means she has to face the one person she never wanted to face again. When they come to an agreement and start working together, they end up falling for each other. It's an emotional tale of tragic pasts and how they work past their tragedy.

I've been a big fan of Georgia Toffolo from what I’ve seen on TV, so I was keen to read a book of hers. I didn’t realize till the end that it was the final in a series of 4 books. As it turned out it didn’t matter that I hadn’t read the other three but it’s worth considering starting at the beginning, I personally will be going back to catch up.

Lily Carter, a successful businesswoman with a penchant for organization and control, is tasked with planning her sister's wedding at their family estate. However, her carefully crafted plans are thrown into disarray when Henry North, her estranged childhood friend, returns home and is appointed co-organizer of the event.

Lily and Henry's past is riddled with unresolved conflicts and lingering resentment, making their collaboration a recipe for disaster. Their opposing personalities and contrasting approaches to the wedding preparations clash constantly, creating a whirlwind of comedic tension and simmering attraction.

As Lily and Henry reluctantly work together, they gradually peel back the layers of their past, revealing the underlying emotions that fueled their animosity. They begin to see each other in a new light, recognizing the strengths and vulnerabilities that lie beneath their respective facades.

Toffolo masterfully navigates the delicate balance between humor, romance, and personal growth. The story is infused with witty banter and lighthearted moments, punctuated by poignant reflections on love, loss, and self-discovery.

"Meet Me at the Wedding" is a delightful escape into a world of romance, family, and the enduring power of friendship. Toffolo's characters are relatable and engaging, their journey of rediscovery both heartwarming and entertaining.

Elated. That is really the only word I could use to describe the way reading this book has made me feel. It was one sheer joy to read for sure

3.5 stars rounded down! Please note this review does contain a spoiler! (kind of, if you can call it a spoiler at the end of a romance novel)

I initially did not realize this was the fourth book in a series, but don't think you had read the first three to be able to enjoy this one. Although, I do think I would have liked it more if I had some of the additional context/character building from the previous books! Some parts of the plot referred to things that I felt out of the loop on, though not soooo out of the loop that I couldn't follow.

The story/plot was a good concept, but failed in a few spots for me! The FMC and MMC are childhood friends, he essentially disappears for several years, comes back to town, and romance ensues.

SPOILER ALERT: They have a brief stint as enemies, before having a one night stand and then he runs off, comes back and proposes???? After what is essentially one night and a few short weeks of banter??? Ok!

Overall, a nice quick read, though not one that had me kicking my feet and giggling. Middle of the road!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a digital arc in exchange for my honest review!

I haven't read this whole series but I loved the concept of it! I really liked this book and it was a good light read for me to read on my travels recently. I would definitely recommend this series to my friends as it shows the struggles and overcoming them in friendship. Thanks Netgalley and Mills and Boon for the ARC in exchange for a review!

What an absolutely delightful read! Meet Me at the Wedding by Georgia Toffolo is not only a love story, but a story of forgiveness, healing, and friendship. Lily and Henry were both involved in a horrific event in their youth that shaped the path of their lives, only to come together 10 years later and help each other heal and find forgiveness. Ohhh if you love a slow burn then you will definitely enjoy this one. Overall, it was a very enjoyable book, and you don’t have to have read the other books in the series to enjoy it. But now I want to go back and read Malie and Zoe’s stories – I had previously read Victoria and Oliver’s story in Meet Me in London (which I also recommend) – and plan a vacation to a seaside cottage in England.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided to me through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to Georgia Toffolo and Harlequin Trade Publishing (Canary Street Press) for giving me the opportunity to read this book!

DNF @ 30%- I hadn’t read any of the previous books in the series, but I don’t think that was a problem. I just found this book too boring to continue. The premise was sound, but it just wasn’t immersive. I’m sure there are people who would enjoy the tone and pacing of this book, but it just wasn’t for me.

This was a fun story, revisiting the friend group we met in meet me in London. I loved Henry and Lily and the progression of their relationship felt realistic, they were quick to apologize (no miscommunication trope here!), quick to support each other's needs, and some pretty good grand gesturing (Henry setting everything up for the hen-do!) And I mean, the estate setting sounded just magical.

Having only read the first book in the series, it felt like there was a lot of missing pieces with a few of the other characters (books two and three look to be unavailable) and while possibly a stand alone, it felt like the series really needs to be read in order, the epilogue was a great conclusion for the series but it felt rushed and I wished it had more focus on Henry and Lily.

All in all though this was a fun summer read and really, once all 4 books are available, this would be such a fun buddy read for your group of best gal pals!

'Meet Me at the Wedding' is a wonderful example of how through trauma great growth and joy can arise. I didn't realize that this was a continuation in the story of childhood friends from the Devon coast town of Hawke's Cove as I first started reading it, but it was a beautiful conclusion to their saga. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey of self-reflection undertaken by Lily and Henry, and by how much love was revealed in the process to two people who had shut themselves off from warmth and connection. I highly recommend this book as a deeply affecting story of how love can heal.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Disclaimer, I do love romance. This was just very boring, very tedious, and lacking in any tension or real conflict. I felt like Lily and Henry became extremely sappy extremely quickly, and it was a little jarring. I kept waiting for something bad to happen, some third act climax, but it was just so flat.

⭐️ 4/5 | 🌶️ 1/5

I have heard great things about this series and it being a quintessential English countryside romance - it didn't disappoint!

In what felt like a great wrap-up to a story about how one night impacted a large group of friends, this cute, simmering slow-burn left me feeling giddy for the connection our MCs shared.

For a closed-door romance, there was still plenty of chemistry, and I enjoyed the varied cast of characters brought into this quaint story.

Thanks to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for sharing this with me!

Running to read the other books in this series because I loved this one! I loved the character development and the author’s writing style! This was overall such a cute read, I think I would have liked it even more if I had read the other books first! It was also one of those books that sort of grabs you right from the beginning (which I personally love). Thank you Net Galley and the publisher for an advanced copy! ♥️

MEET ME AT THE WEDDING is a cute and charming read that made me wish I was at a beautiful venue/winery, tending an herb garden while bantering with the late owner's extremely handsome son. I wouldn't call the main characters Lily and Henry enemies as they quickly developed feelings for each other. Even though Henry and Lily haven't seen each other in ten years, there is still of a lot of history that comes up that needs to be addressed between the two. With Henry dealing with the rocky relationship he had with his now deceased father and Lily wanting to help pull off her friend's big day, Henry and Lily grow closer and closer.

Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing and NetGalley for the digital advanced copy in exchange for my thoughts.

This was the perfect end to the Meet me series that features four best friends whose lives were irrevocably changed after one terrible car accident. This final installment sees Lily forced to work with estate owner Henry when the owner dies and Henry cancels all event bookings.

The catch is Henry needs Lily to help him find a buyer and Lily will only agree if he allows her best friend's wedding to go ahead as planned. Full of great enemies to lovers banter and chemistry, this was a swoony British romcom about moving on from the past and learning to forgive yourself.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review. Recommended for fans of Mhairi McFarlane and Beth O'Leary. Features side characters with different disabilities (wheel chair user, infertility).
