I really loved this book from beginning to end. It focuses on a tragic accident that changes the lives of several people involved and how they struggled to overcome the aftermaths of the accident. The book was full of twists and turns that really kept the reader interested in the story. It definitely reinforces the notion that your life could change at a blink of an eye. I would definitely recommend this book.

The story is told from the point of view of different people. Bad weather and dangerous roads causes multiple cars to collide. Unfortunately, 3 people died from this tragic accident. The first car is a woman who lost her leg as a result of the collision. She has to adjust to living with her handicap status, her troubled marriage and not remembering the accident. The second car, contains a couple, the wife dies as a result of the accident, the husband has to face living without his wife. Another car, a child dies from the accident and in another car, a wife dies. All of these families have to learn how to grieve their losses and continue on with life.

One tragic night and everything changes, Icy weather conditions cause a multi car accident that will forever alter their lives. Joe loses his wife, Alan and Cassie their 15 year old son, and Hannah wakes up with no memory and a missing leg. This engrossing story shines a spotlight into each of their lives, the heartache, the fallout, and even some unexpected consequences that you couldn't have seen coming. This book broke my heart, made me angry, all the while rooting for Hannah to overcome each and every obstacle that came her way,
I loved the Narration by Jodie Harris who brought the story to life.

I enjoyed this one, I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was fantastic! I’m not sure I would categorize this one as a thriller but it is a well written fiction- I was captivated from the beginning. I highly recommend this one and want to read more by the author.

On a snowy winter day, a pile up on the highway causes life-altering changes in the lives of those involved. Following three people on their own journeys after the accident, this book explores the aftermath.

I really enjoyed this book. The narration is excellent, and the book jumps right and grabs your attention. The characters feel very real, and you feel for each of them from the start. I thought Hannah was a good main character. She's extremely likeable and takes the things that happen to her in stride but not so well that it seemed unrealistic. I also liked Joe and his story, though I felt like the side story with his brother was kind of all over the place. Ultimately, the ending was extremely predictable, but the writing and narration made the journey of this book interesting and worthwhile, even though you knew where it was going.

Highly recommended for fans of Jodi Picoult.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the free audio book in exchange for an honest review!

This was narrated by Jodie Harris who did a fantastic job with the multiple characters and 3 narrators! I love it when I can listen to a book and become so engrossed! I was able to clearly understand and visualize what is taking place which is perfection for me! Highly recommend the audio book.

Three different families are impacted by a horrific motor accident that happens on a freeway during an ice storm. It could happen anywhere and all of us can relate. This is the story of how the trauma impacted each of these families. We have Hannah with 2 kids and a troubled marriage. She loses her leg. We have the Jones family who lose their only child, a son with downs. Lastly we have Joe and Alison, a childless couple very much in love and yet Alison dies. What would you do? How do you cope? How do you move forward? Not only do we see how Joe, Hannah and the Jones address their trauma and grief but we also see how their families do so as well.

This is a wonderful tale about life, love, and loss, and the many forms that it can take. This was a fast read, intriguing and had me pondering how I would handle similar circumstances. The plot, though a bit predictable, was well done and the characters were well developed. I really enjoyed the depth of the families and how the results of the accident impacted everyone.

Very enjoyable read! Highly recommend!

This was def not a thriller, but more fiction. The book was ok, but there was just too much going on. These three people have so many different things going on at once-seems unrealistic.

Have you ever been to a restaurant and ordered chocolate cake for dessert?

Instead of receiving the chocolate cake that was ordered, you are given an extra-large dish of vanilla ice cream.

The vanilla ice cream was delicious, but it was not what you ordered.

You were craving chocolate cake and that was what you wanted.

After listening to "The Accident", I had a "chocolate cake deja vu".

If you view the book's cover, you'll see that "The Accident" was positioned as a "Three people are dead. Was it a mistake?" thriller.

Even if you are a very creative person with an overactive imagination, you would not categorize this book as a thriller. (Not even close)

The book is a readable and pacey domestic drama about the devastating impact of a horrific fatal car accident on survivors, families, and loved ones. One woman loses her leg in the accident.

Even though the book was not what I ordered, it was well-written with an absorbing storyline.

I listened to the audiobook and Jodie Harris did an outstanding job with the narration.

I am a fan of author Gillian Jackson and I look forward to listening to future titles by this talented author.

Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Hannah Graham loses control of her car on an icy road, causing a multi-car pileup. When she awakens in the hospital, she’s lost one of her legs. The storyline plays out with other victims of the crash, a man whose wife was killed in the crash and a couple who have lost their son are all trying to come to terms with their loss. Not a thriller, as the book is billed, but a story about loss and finding a way through grief, anger, and tragedy, this is an intense and absorbing read
