O my goodness, this was such a good book. I read it in one sitting! I had to know what was going on and what was going to happen. The twist at the end surprised me so much, I never would have guessed!! I would definitely recommend this book.
I don’t know why I feel like I’ve read this before, because it was published in 2019, and I know that I haven’t read it. Even though I guessed what was going on, it was still quite enjoyable to read. The ending had a few extra surprises, and the whole story was a stark look at mental illness. Four stars for a solid psychological thriller.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Another great book by JA Baker. I have yet to read a book by this author that I didn't like.
This one kept me guessing and I read through it pretty quickly.
Esther is obsessed with the strange woman at number 19. It gives off spooky vibes and I was interested in the beginning but quickly lost concentration with this book.
This story sounded quite interesting & I was excited to get stuck in. Unfortunately I found this one a little boring.
This was a really good book, I was completely hooked from the first page and stayed up way to maye reading because I couldn't put it down definitely recommend
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this book. This was a great read that kept me guessing until the end. Storyline and characters were very well done and the twist was unpredictable.
I liked this book but I couldnt say I loved it. I found it to be unrealistic . I like a book thats unpredictable and unfortunately this was too predictable for me.
Grief so overwhelming she is unable to function on a daily basis has locked Esther into her home where she can reflect on why she was so punished that her husband and children were killed in a car accident but she....and her sister....survived. As she slowly gives in to her grief, she finds herself watching the new family across the street. A husband, wife, son and daughter, just as her family used to be. When the mother's behavior borders on abuse, Esther must decide what to do. As Esther takes note of the increasingly troubled neighbors, unnoticed "things" begin to happen and Esther is not sure of the who, what, where, when and why. Just as this reader started figuring out the story, a uturn of gigantic proportions occurs and I'm left as clueless as Esther. JA Baker skillfully built these characters and their community to tell a thriller of a story.
The Woman At Number 19 is a fast paced book, that had my gripped and wanting to keep on reading, I really enjoyed reading it.
This was a fast paced exciting book to read. It had me hooked from the beginning. It’s a real page turner. It’s dark with lots of twists and turns to keep you hooked. Exciting plot that plays out well
Love JA Baker and have read them all, they get better and better each time, a real treat for thriller fans and you will not be disappointed
Loved this one, so twisty and full of red herrings. Will love to read more by this author if this one is anything to go by. Definitely worth 5 stars and more. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
This book was originally published in 2019 and has now been re released. It is a fairly quick read as it is less than 300 pages long. It deals with grief and obsession, and although it was a little bit predictable in places I still enjoyed it, and would read more by this author in the future.
Thanks to netgalley and the publishers for this read.
*4 3/4 Stars*

This was a really great read. The ending was not what I expected, it really surprised me. The characters went through a lot. I liked the characters in this. Would recommend.
Very character driven, with little dialogue. I’m not sure I liked the perspective but I did like the premise.
I guessed the twist fairly early on but it didn’t detract from the overall reading experience but did leaving me asking WHY HOW WTF!
Very easy to read!
4 stars. I am spent after finishing this one. It was physically, mentally and emotionally exhausting being in Esther's head, not to mention just rather sad. If you've read a lot of thrillers, you'll figure out pretty early what is going on. Maybe not all the details, but the general gist of it. I am a little bit over using mental illness as a backbone of a thriller, but there are not a lot of ways to explain the strange and creepy happenings that take place in this story. And strange and creepy are putting it mildly!! I very much enjoyed my time immersed in these pages and would recommend it if you just want to strap on your big girl panties and take a trip to crazy town!!!
This book took me by complete surprise, I was so not ready for that twist. I definitely thought something else was going on!
In the prologue, I met a person who is deeply wounded. She's to hurt someone in her life, and she got hit in the head because of it. She rarely has good days. She's going through hell all the time. She cries, screams and gets injections to calm down. I think she's in a mental hospital.
The girl and her brother live in a beautiful house. They have everything except happiness. Their mother is a terrorist who punishes them at every turn.
Esther has lost her family. She is lonely. I don't feel good about it. She has a beautiful house and an empty, sad life. Her favourite neighbour is Amy. She likes to gossip with her, and she is interested in her life. She loves to spy on her neighbours. She currently has her eye on another neighbour. She picks up hooks on her. She suspects that she is doing something bad to her children. She wants to discover her secrets. Her mysterious neighbour lives at number 19.
The second main character is a woman from number 19. She is overwhelmed by her life situation. She discovered that her husband had another woman on the side. She's frustrated.
Another character is the daughter of the woman from the flat at number 19. She is very afraid of her brother. She is convinced that the mother does not love her, her son and her husband. Is she wrong?
A very powerful psychological thriller. There were plenty of twists and turns here. The end of the book made me dizzy. I found a very powerful topic here. I am still very impressed. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

This book is such a great thriller! I seriously NEVER saw the ending coming! Definitely a fast paced read
