Need to take a moment to fan myself after this one! I eagerly awaited this book after reading the first in the series "The Dark King". This one followed the story of Tiernan, who wasn't supposed to be king, but it's having to step up to help save his brother and sister-in-law. It was MUCH darker than the first book and played a lot more with BDSM scenes. While that's not usually my jam, the fact that Tiernan and Fiona had such a strong connection and the fact that a lot of the book is dealing with a group of people who are killing fae, it all combined into yet another winner for Gina Maxwell!

I made the mistake of not reading Dark King first! This is a standalone and the author does an excellent job of recapping the main points so you don't HAVE to read the first book. I just now WISH I had because this book was so good! The spice is top notch and the characters are great. I absolutely love Tiernan and Fiona. The plot of the book keeps you reading and guessing, even, so you don't stall out after the first spicy bit, which can happen sometimes. I really hope I don't have to wait too long for a Finnian story because I need it, Gina! I NEED it! Going back to read Dark King now. Don't sleep on this series. It's really well done.

Thank you NetGalley, Entangles Publishing, and Gina L. Maxwell for the chance to read The Rebel King!!!!
Oh my goodness I love this book! When I read The Dark King I was so in love with Tier and this book in the series did not disappoint with his story!
"Power is as ruinous as it is advantageous"
The Rebel King follows Fiona and Tiernan's whirlwind, sexy, dangerous, and fun story. Tiernan has been dubbed The Rebel Prince pretty much all of his life and was happy that he would not have the responsibilities of the Night Court crown. Thanks to his older brother, Caiden, being The King of the Dark Fae. Until Caiden found his true mate and had to abdicate his position to keep Bryn safe. Tier now finds himself in an impossible position going from the freedom to pursue his own dark pleasures that Sin City has to offer, including Fiona the fiery redhead with wits to back up all that fire, to ascending the throne as king. And being king means he will no longer be able to pursue anything with a lower-caste fae. Will Tiernan lose the one being that has meant the most to him or will he be able to shed The Night Court's antiquated ways so he can be with Fi? With a war about to emerge from within the shadows of Las Vegas he is caught between who he is meant to be and who he wants to be. Will he buckle under the pressure or be The Rebel King he is deep down?
Fiona, our FMC, fiery, strong, quick witted, knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it, honest, loyal, and above all loves fiercely. Fiona really goes through it in this book and I felt for her so deeply. She really gets put through the wringer. And my heart hurt for her but I cheered for her happy ending the whole time. I love how her character developed, that is what I love to see when a character grows, in the face of adversity.
Tiernan, our MMC, yassssssss!!! Oh my gosh I was obsessed with him in The Dark King, and I was so excited to get more into his head. Tier is learning to be confident in his heart and mind in this book and it was nice to see him navigate that. Just because you have money and good looks doesn't mean the you are confident in your capabilities. He is also quick witted, a rebel, hilarious (and I mean hilarious), a prankster, sweet, loving, loyal, sexy as hell, and so so much more. I literally could go on and on about him. I would call him more of an Alphahero then a Alphahole. But don't get my wrong sometimes his Alphahole comes out to play to those that deserve it.
The Side Characters! I love Dimitri, I'm so excited how everything plays out with him in the next book of the series. Finni!!!! I love that big old teddy bear, I can already tell he is calculating and smart and the sweetest. It was nice that Caiden and Bryn were there. I missed Bryn's Candor and Caiden's broodiness. It made me smile to read a little more about them and what they are going through.

I love Gina's writing it's so easy to follow and the pacing is quick. She had some fantastic quotes in this book, that I can not wait to share more of when it is published. I love getting to know more about the Verran brother's and especially Tier. But her writing, especially in this one put me on a emotional rollercoaster. I laughed, swoon, got all hot and bothered, and cried. Like sobbed at some points. I am so excited for the readers that love this series to read The Rebel King. I can not wait for The Vicious King!!!!!

Another wonderful book in the world of the Verran brothers. The storyline of this one is incredible with hot hot steam and romance to die for! I already look forward to the third installment!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The second book has proved to be even better than the first! I need book 3 now.

This is not my first book from this author, but I was more than excited to read this story. It was an okay read for me. There were things I liked and disliked about this story, but I don't want to go into things in too much detail because I don't want to give anything away. I can say that I liked Tiernan and Fiona characters and although, it says that every book can be read as I standalone I felt as if I missed out on some of the romance, chemistry and "relationship" things between Tiernan and Fiona. With that being said, I think that maybe I would have enjoyed some things mentioned in this book a little more if I had knowledge of it from the previous book because the bdsm really threw me in this book. It wasn't because it happened, it was because there was so much going on and it seemed to be something both characters liked but there was a lot more to it and them. The chemistry between them was undeniable and back and forth banter between them was entertaining but I wish there was a little more romance. To be honest I enjoyed the back-and-forth banter between Tiernan and a few of the side characters, especially his chess playing buddy Robert. The flow of the story was too slow for me, but the thing that kept me reading the story was the fact that it kept me laughing at the characters and their antics. I know that had this story not been funny, I wouldn't have finished it. The ending of the story was sweet as for a minute I thought Ttiernan would let Fiona walk away. This story had suspense, surprises, a touch of romance, bdsm, secrets, revenge, killers and more. This wasn't a terrible story, but for me it's a story that's a one-time read.

“Remember this night, Fiona. Know that you belong to me, just as I belong to you. Now and always, no matter what.”
Oh my god, I loved this book! Tier and Fiona's story was so amazing... The characters, the plot, the writing—everything was perfect in the book...
What's to expect:
→ Dual pov
→ forbidden romance
→ Royal court drama
→ spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
→ Found Family
I didn't think I'd love this book more than Caiden and Bryn's book but God, this book was everything I expected it to be and more!
The character growth of both Tiernan and Fiona was so well written. I loved the relationship with Tier had with his brothers, Woulf family, Robert and of course with his Brynnie Bear.
Bryn and Fiona's friendship was so pure and I loved it with all my heart.
And what was the ending??! I need book 3 immediately!!

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Tiernan Verran has earned his title as 'Rebel Prince'. He lives in Las Vegas and loves the Vegas life style. That was until his older brother was forced to step down as King of the Dark Fae. As second in line to rule the Night Court, Tiernan now finds himself with six months to learn everything he can to properly lead his people. With his new role comes great sacrifice, including staying away from the beautiful Fae female he has been enjoying his dalliances with.
Fiona Jewel has served the Verran family as house keeper for many years. Coming from a low caste family, she had no chance at becoming Teiran's mate when he was prince but even less so now that he is about to become King. She knew they were just having a fun time but it is hard to stay away from something you have grown so addicted to. When she and her mother are attacked by an anti-fae group, things become very personal and hit too close to home for Tiernan.

OMG, Tiernan is hot and sexy! Fiona is hot and sexy! 'The Rebel King' is hot....steamy, and filled with my kind of fun. In 'The Rebel King', I was happy to see Maxwell address many main stream issues we are dealing with in society today such as racism, sexism and cultural bias. Tiernan comes across as a no holds bar, free for all, fun loving Fae but his ability to see life differently allows him to think outside the box and push for a better society for his people. Fiona is an independent female with no shame about where she comes from or where she is in life. She values herself and her worth.
Maxwell has blown me away with The Deviant King series, it hits all the right chords with me.

Tiernan is forced to take the throne when his brother abdicates the title. As the second born prince he has always been all fun and little responsibility. But when his people start getting attacked he has to step up to help get to the bottom of these attacks. Fiona has always thought herself different because she had human blood in her, not just fae. After a brutal attack and a shocking revelation she is left more confused than ever. Only two things she knows is she will do whatever to help against the attacks and her draw toTiernan.
Overall I liked the first book in the series better. Love Tiernan, his friendship with the humans around him was adorable. Just felt like the story was a bit rushed at the end! Excited for the third book

WOW!!!!! I don't say this often but if you haven't pre ordered this book yet hit the one click its that fucking good!!! 😉
Gina L. Maxwell has done it again!!!! The Rebel king was the second book from her The Deviant King series and she upped the ante with more dare I say hot sex and all all things so darkly delicious from the Verran men!!!! This is Tiernan's book so I knew going in it was gonna be a fabulous read! While I loved the intense Caiden and fell hopelessly in lust Tiernan the playboy and all around partying goodtime brother stepped up to the plate big time! After the light king Edevane tried and failed to kill dark king Caiden he stepped down to protect his mate so it would be Tierran next brother in line who would rule their people. Tierran never want to sit on the throne and he's in a race to find the light king so Caiden will be king once more. This king shit not only brings expectations of his people and the court but it also changes his personal life. His secret liaisons with the beautiful and sexy half fae maid Fiona has been a whirl wind of mind blowing sex and dark desires that have them both a slave to their desires! With everyone watching everything the rebel prince does the only place without security cameras is the dungeon and while Fiona is all for sex with a edge Tier has made the dungeon it off limits! But what Fiona doesn't know is in his past a BDSM scene went to far when he lost control. Their both keeping secrets and after fiona's mother is attacked by NPO a group who is hunting the fae's down she learns that she is even more different and any dreams she had of being with Tiernan are gone. But what she can do is go undercover as a stripper at Devils Door where the group hangs out to find out who's all involved and find the missing fae women that are being used and sold for pleasure. Loads of action and plenty of steamy sex and great banter and a couple who's chemistry was off the charts!!! And Edevane the light king is back to be a royal pain in the ass! Everytime they think they've taken care of this fae asshole he's one step ahead of them and theirs no keeping hold of this slippery shit head! Before I close this out I do so love two new characters that were introduced in this book. First was Tiernan's best friend and chess partner Robert a human who is close to 80 with snark and wit that made me instantly fall in love with him. And then theirs the big hot and sexy vampire Dmitri “D’yavol” Romanov who was a fierce legendary Russian warrior before he was turned into a vampire. He goes by the nickname" The devil " but damn is he fine with being over six feet and pale blue eyes with a sexy scar and amazing charm its no wonder this vamp draws attention everywhere he goes. I hope Gina is planning a book for this bad boy too!!!! Next up the youngest brother Finn and I can't wait!!!!! This series just keeps getting better!!! Gina is a awesome storyteller and her characters all unique and memorable. Until next time Luv's💕💋

“Remember this night, Fiona. Know that you belong to me, just as I belong to you. Now and always, no matter what.”
I thought that no one could top Bryn and Caiden- HOWEVER Gina blessed us with Fiona and Tiernan! The sexual tension, chemistry and angst had me squirming! The BDSM thrown in was IMMACULATE. Just so top notch, I’m still thinking about it! Tiernan’s satirical, bad boy, protective persona led to great banter and a swoony MMC! Definitely a touch her and die kinda guy.
There was an underlying story of acceptance, forgiveness and family importance that definitely got me in my feels! And it makes you realize how much of a badass Fiona is, she can truly handle anything!
I have so many highlights from this book- I think I highlighted a whole page lol needless to say, you need to read this!
Thank you for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Yes, yes, yes, this book was all that! I absolutely loved the character development for our rebel king! Is it weird though, as involved as Fi was of course as our main female character I felt definitely more tuned with him. The story was fantastic and grew and shifted and I enjoyed every page. Now the glimpse into Fin’s story already has me completely intrigued as well. You will not be disappointed with this series.

Ohhh I loved Tiernan and Fiona’s story so much! His character arc was great and there was so much good action and storyline in this book. I love the incorporation of fae, vampires and shifters all working together and I cannot wait to see what happens with Finn and Taryn now:)

This was so good but so spicyyyy. A solid second book in the series and I cannot wait for book 3!! Definitely not a closed door romance so readers, prepare yourself.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this arc ebook in exchange for an honest review!!

„because a prince can fool around with whoever he wants. the king can’t.“
now this was a good book even if i wished that the ending wasn’t that rushed and we would’ve gotten more tension/ build up between the mc‘s. i may be biased because i‘m obsessed with forbidden romance no matter where it gets mentioned in, the book automatically gets plus points..
i never read a book by this author so this one was my first and not my last one!🤭

4.75/5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

First, let me say that the first book in this series was one of my top reads last year, so I was so excited and nervous to get this one as an ARC on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I was excited as hell because this is Gina L. Maxwell ( Yass Queen! 👸), the first was amazing and I couldn't wait to see where the plot would lead...and I was nervous because it is very hard to follow such a solid first book but it happened people!!!
Tiernan and Fiona are such strong MCs and their story was great because they are solid and well developed on their own that when they come together as a pair, it is absolute dynamite. Sparks flew and it got steamy as a Turkish bathhouse. Many spicy chilies peppers to give this one. I LOVED the witty banter between the two of them (and in this book in general)- it is one of the things that makes Gina Maxwell such an enjoyable read all the time.
One thing that threw me off, even though this is the second in a series, I haven't read any books in which, there is already and established relationship between the MCs, and I am not sure how I feel about it. One one hand, I love Fi and I wouldn't pick anyone else from Tier, but on the other hand, I like it when a relationship in a book starts from the ground up, or even as friends to start and then moving up. This relationship felt like it didn't have as much room to grow because there was already a fierce physical connection there. It was basically just trust and the emotional connection that had to develop further. This is just a person preference, and I am still trying to figure out how I feel about it, so take that with a grain of salt.
Tiernan was really loveable all on this own because he is impulsive and reckless and it more "humanized" (haha) because of it, rather than this brother who is just so darn perfect, ya know?Overall, there weren't too many surprises in the plot but that didn't affect my enjoyment of this book. I will definitely pick up the next one in the series and I can't wait until the audiobook version of this one comes out too.
If you like a PNR books set in the modern world with tons of steam and strong characters, this is the series for you.
* For those of you that care, please not that this series isn't finished yet. So salivation for the next book will definitely ensue.

Gina L Maxwell’s stunning sequel “The Rebel King” is undiluted and raw. You think you have read spicy books from tik tok this is better than the first one. I love the premise and setting. I mean it’s Vegas baby! Fiona is the maid/housekeeper who ends being way more then anyone thought. She is critical to Tiernan whom was just named the heir apparent and now the rebel king instead of prince. Each Varren brother’s story is different but yet each time I am loving the female’s story and background way more! I am a huge fan of this author.

I really enjoyed this book but not as much as book 1. It took me a tad bit longer to get invested in this story but once I did I really loved it! I think the pacing was nice but I wish we got a little more fluff at the end. Overall, I will continue to recommend this series and I can’t wait for the next book!

Thank you Net Galley, author, and publisher for the ARC of this book. I want to start by saying that I absolutely love and have read all of this author's books. This book just couldn't hold my interest like the first one did. I am a mood reader and perhaps I just wasn't in the mood for fantasy and smut. I will defiantly revisit the book in the future. Just not for me at this time.

GIna Maxwell did it again! Wow. Tiernan and Fiona might be her best work yet. The passion, the love, the depth of their relationship. This is a must read. If you haven’t read a Maxwell book, then you are missing out. Highly recommend
