Honestly… I wished they’d stayed enemies to begin with. The book was hard to get into, their relationship was cringy, and you can’t really connect with the characters at all.
Reading this book was like being on a rollercoaster. There were moments where I thought I was enjoying myself immediately followed by moments where I wanted nothing more than to skip to the end. I couldn’t connect with Ari and Josh. Funnily enough they couldn’t connect with each other either. This had some good elements, but ultimately fell short for me.
It took me a long time to get into this book… There was nothing wrong with it… I think the concept the writing everything was great and I can see why this one is a popular book. I personally didn't connect to the characters until the very end when the book redeemed itself for me!
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED, ABSOLUTELY LOVED this one. This is not your typical romance novel. In fact, it's a hot mess...but it absolutely works. An amazing debut.
This was the most perfect modern "When Harry Met Sally" inspired love story and I am so here for it. The characters felt like real people and the writing was absolutely beautiful! Highly recommend!
enemies to lovers 5eva. Easily my favourite trope and such a well executed story! I really like Kate Goldbeck's writing and look forward to seeing what she does next.
Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review.
This was a cute romance book. It didn't live with it's hyper as I thought it would. I should have expected that. If you enjoy cheesy rom-com books, then you will enjoy this one.
You, Again is a romance that's a When Harry Met Sally reimagining. I loved the characters and their chemistry. It was realistic and how so many emotions. It was entertaining and funny. It was an overall great read and I highly recommend it.
I simply should not read things blurbed by Ali Hazelwood. Ari is a disaster, and Josh needs therapy.
I really enjoyed this romance. It felt refreshingly different than other books in the genre in a way that's difficult for me to explain, I would definitely recommend if you enjoy romance books.
This one took me a while to get into, but since the story evolves over a decade or so, things I didn’t like about the voice in the beginning changed as the character matured. I think it’s a fun ready for fans of enemies to lovers, Harry Met Sally friends-to-lovers, and anyone who wishes The Bear tv show were a romcom. :)
This was a fun ride through friendship and love. I enjoyed the characters. The setting was rich and I loved reading about NYC through their lens.
Synopsis: Ari and Josh meet each other again and again over years before finally agreeing to become friends. Their differences are expansive, but they are continuously drawn to each other as they bond over Ari’ divorce and Josh’s failed restaurant after the loss of his father. Will they ever be able to act on their feelings and risk their friendship?
Review: I’m so grateful to @netgalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. This book was such a fun and unique romance read! I loved the opposites attract trope here and the banter between the two characters was so funny! My only critique was the timeline seemed a little funky but it wasn’t too distracting. Highly recommend to all!
A quick, short read! Tried a little too hard to be When Harry Met Sally, and the second half was pretty hard to get through for a romance, but overall I liked it. I thought that Josh was more enjoyable than Ari, who was a bit of a mess. Great banter, a satisfying ending, and timeline jumps that actually worked! I'd definitely recommend this one, and can't wait to see what the author comes out with next. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!
a perfect mix of romance and comedy! def would recommend to those who love the movie "When Harry Met Sally"!
I really enjoyed this enemies to lovers book. I loved reading a book set in NYC. The friends, Gabe, Rad and Briar, were such a delight. At times Ari drove me nuts with her self loathing.
Loved this story of rwo people running into each other every few years, first not liking each other, becoming friends, ruining it and then finding love. Both are interesting characters having to come to terms with their liv3s, careers, loves, goals, and generally doing into their own.
This book was everything I wanted it to be and more! I finished this book in a day. The characters felt so real and had the perfect mix of romance, comedy, heat, and heart. Everyone in this book needs to see a therapist immediately. It's the perfect modern romcom. I can't wait to read more by this author.
oooh I love books with unlikeable character!!! they always feel so fresh and unique and this was no exception. loved it!
Overall, a very sweet and fun rom-com. My only issues were that it is very obviously Reylo fanfiction (which seems like an oddly popular trend in romance right now) and the main female character was quite unlikeable. I love flawed characters, but she bordered on just rude and mean at times and I want to root for the main couple to get together. I still liked their love story, but if her character had been improved a bit I would have absolutely loved it.
