I liked this 21 one day challenge. It’s one I would like to read again in the future. I would also gift it to a friend.

Another great, reflective study from the Graham-Lotz family. The authors are the daughter and granddaugher of evangelist Billy Graham. Readers are challenged to prepare to meet Jesus; prepare for a future in Heaven. Using the story of Isaac and Rebecca and their arranged marriage, the story unfolds superbly with lessons in being obedient to God. We are encouraged to be faithful women of God, preparing ourselves for God’s promises.

The writing flows well and the concepts are easy to take in and reflect.

I whole-heartedly recommend “Preparing to Meet Jesus” by Anne Graham Lotz and Rachel-Ruth Wright! In this beautiful re-telling of the true account of Abraham’s servant seeking a Bride for his son, the authors use this sweet parallel story of how our Heavenly Father is seeking a Bride for His son, to encourage us to be prepared to meet Jesus.

As a follower of Jesus (the Bride of Christ), I long to meet my Bridegroom and I want to be ready to meet Him! But if you’re anything like me, staying ready is the challenge...and this book is the perfect devotional tool.

I have known this precious mother-daughter duo for more than 30 years and have personally observed the character qualities they espouse in this book in their own lives….which makes this devotional even more meaningful. Be sure to check out the audio version as well. Anne and Rachel-Ruth both read aloud the parts they wrote, making it a special treat for those who know and love them. For those reading or listening to them for the first time, their passion for Jesus is contagious…it spills out whenever they speak. This has quickly become my new favorite book….and I believe it will become yours too!

Anne Graham Lotz and her daughter, Rachel Ruth Wright, have written a poignant, powerful, and much needed 21-day devotional asking the simple question, “Are you ready to meet Jesus.”
Anne uses her extensive biblical knowledge into scripture to compare the love story of Isaac and Rebekah in the book of Genesis, to the love story of Jesus, the Bridegroom and His followers, the bride.
The book contains 21 daily practical applications and Scripture references along with a beautiful prayer. Every day there is a challenge to meditate upon and put into practice and to live a holy life until your faith becomes sight.
It is so exciting to think that one day the followers of Jesus will have the opportunity to see Him face-to-face! I am so looking forward to that glorious day! When my husband was called home on Christmas Day this year, all I could think about was that He was with Jesus and was experiencing unfathomable love, joy, and peace in His Savior’s presence. I, too, want to be prepare to meet Jesus and be found faithful to Him and His Word.

I am continuing to daily read from “Preparing to meet Jesus” by Anne Graham Lotz and her daughter Rachel-Ruth. I have reached a point where I cannot wait to get up each morning and spend time reading the chapter for that day.. I stand amazed at how the story of Rebekah is so fitting for today, and at the same time I fall down in worship of the God who sees me and how the authors make this retelling of history applicable to me today. If you haven’t gotten your copy yet, what are you waiting for? Living in today’s world, it is so important that as Christians we are prepared, and at the same time, we are helping others prepare to meet Jesus. Maranatha, friends.

Preparing To Meet Jesus is not just a 21 day challenge but has become a daily read for me. The daily challenge helps me focus on one characteristic to help me be more like Jesus. Oh how I want to please him. The prayer reminds me that I am totally dependent on God to transform my heart and life into one that is holy and pleasing to him. So on that day I will be a ready to meet my Lord face to face! Lord mold me and make me more like you everyday.

Every believer knows that Jesus will come again. He has told us so in His Word. Anne Graham Lotz challenges us to be ready! In this twenty-one day devotional , Ann defines character traits from the life of Rebekah, right out of the Scriptures in Genesis. She poses tough questions for the reader to consider, and intertwines stories from her own life through out. Each chapter concludes with a challenge and a prayer. Thought provoking and beautifully written.

This 21 day devotional follows the account of Abraham searching out a wife for his son, Isaac. Abraham's servant is sent to find a woman of character, someone who will live as a helpmeet for Isaac. Authors Anne Graham Lotz and daughter Rachel-Ruth draw parallels to the heart of God the Father as he too searches out a bride for his son, Jesus. What kind of bride is He searching for? And how can Christians better embody those characteristics?

This quick read devotional mostly focuses on a fictionalized examination of Rebekah. What must she have been like to be considered for Isaac's bride. What characteristics did she exhibit? What fears did she have for her new life? Each day is practical and easy to read. The authors do, however, take quite a bit of creative liberty with Rebekah's story. Some chapters felt like they were stretching to make a point. While I do believe Rebekah was a woman of honor, some days felt like this devotional was reaching for something that wasn't supported by Scripture. One such is example was the inferrence that Rebekah fell in love with Isaac through the servant's stories.
While the story is a bit romanticized, the life giving principles are sound. Serving others, living with integrity, and showing compassion are all qualities that will serve one well in preparing to meet Jesus and living a life of virtue. Overall it was an enjoyable read. And if some artistic liberties don't bother the reader, the heart lessons in this devotional will very well lead to a life transformed.

WHAT A GLORIOUS DAY!

One day each of us will have the opportunity to see Jesus face-to-face! I cannot wait for that glorious day in my own life! When each of my parents stepped into the arms of Jesus upon their passing, all I could think of was, “Now they have seen Jesus!” And I was more than just a little jealous.

Anne Graham Lotz and Rachel-Ruth Lotz Wright have written a 21-Day Devotional Challenge that is thought-provoking and assuring. Early on, it encourages you to stay steadfast in your personal relationship with God. At the same time, you wait to see Him on that Glorious Day: “We must continue to faithfully live for Jesus in the everyday, including life’s not-so-glamorous tasks. However, in the middle of those menial tasks, we can have an incredible encounter with God.”The book contains daily practical applications and Scripture references for that day. The writers wrote the Daily Devotions concisely to pack a lot of information in a short space. This Devotional is a marvelous tool to help prepare everyone for when they will meet Jesus!

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book by Waterbrook Multnomah Publishers and NetGalley. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own and without influence.

Be Ready! Jesus is Coming! Hallelujah!!

Wouldn’t it be great to see this in big bold letters on; Facebook, Instagram, Google news, Yahoo news…

A reminder to all believers and an eye catcher to those who have not yet asked Jesus into their hearts.

Anne Graham Lotz and her daughter Rachel-Ruth Wright have written a magnificent, powerful, well needed 21-day devotional asking a simple question, “Are you ready to meet Jesus.”

Anne uses her insight and knowledge into scripture to compare the love story of Isaac and Rebekah in the book of Genesis, to the love story of Jesus, the Bridegroom and His followers the bride. Each devotion was beautifully written by Rachel-Ruth, based on the 21 qualities of Rebekah, which should be present in all of us. Each devotion began with a verse about Rebekah, then an in depth devotion that also included personal stories and prayer. The unique part of the devotion is the challenge! Who doesn’t like a challenge? These challenges have you walk closer to God and strengthen your prayer life.

We need to prepare to meet Jesus.

What will the first face to face moment be like when you see Jesus?

Reading one devotion a day is easy and it has a profound impact on your day!

“Preparing To Meet Jesus” by Ann Graham Lotz and Rachel-Ruth Wright is a 21-day Bible study/Devotional based on Genesis 21, the story of Rebekah. Together, they bring verse by verse the quality and characteristics of Rebekah as the chosen wife for Isaac.

Each day’s entry begins with a deep explanation of each verse being studied as well as includes short story/ anecdote, and a challenge to the reader regarding their own preparation as we prepare to be the bride of the coming King Jesus. And as Rebekah shows, are we ready to meet him? Do we wonder about Him? Do we long for Him? Are we ready for our bridegroom? Several chapters in this book touched me and caused me to take a deep look at my own life, attitudes, and preparedness for eternity.

In my opinion, perhaps the best daily entry is from Day 2: “Have you ever envisioned that glorious day when Jesus will appear? Have you wondered about what He will find you doing – or possibly catch you doing? The Bible says that He will come suddenly, like a thief in the night. There will be no five-minute warning. You won’t be able to call a time-out to stop the argument you’re in the middle of, break off your adulterous affair, get sober after you’ve had too much to drink, change the conversation at your gossipy luncheon, put your phone down and open the Bible, shift from angry words to joyful praise in traffic, or stay late and help your co-worker instead of rushing home after work. His coming will be swift. What will he find you doing?”

I would put this book as one of my favorites as I begin again on Day One and look deeper into my personal readiness and preparations to meet my King!

Anne Graham Lotz begins the book by telling her own story of meeting Danny Lotz and then marrying. She intertwines her personal story with that of Isaac and Rebekah. She ends the book with her belief that the sky will soon roll back, the trumpet will sound, the voice of the archangel will be heard and Jesus will descend. She is full of anticipation.

In the majority of the book, Rachel-Ruth Lotz Wright explores 21 qualities from the story of Rebekah. These are good for personal examination and encouragement in Christian living so that we will meet Jesus without regret. She writes about being in the family, being faithful, focused, being pure, and more. She also writes about character traits, such as being kind, humble, being a servant, having integrity and more. A challenge and a prayer are included at the end of every devotion.

These are good devotions reminding us that our rewards may not be found in this life. Our real reward is Jesus and we need to be prepared to see Him soon.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.

I enjoyed this book because it provides real life application for growing in faith based on the biblical truth. The daily readings are doable and challenging to understanding how important it is to be becoming who God wants us to be. Anne Graham Lotz & Rachel-Ruth Wright are both respected bible teachers & solid in biblical truth. This will be a well received book.

"Preparing to Meet Jesus" attracted my attention because I want to make sure that I am ready when He comes or calls me home. Anne Graham Lotz and her daughter Rachel have put together a daily challenge that will help all believers be better prepared to meet Jesus face to face. They share personal life experiences in their lives that give us a heartfelt desire to learn all we can while we can about our Lord Jesus. Christ. In reading this book I put myself in the "Preparation Mode" and I want to be conscientious in how I prepare to please both the Father and His Son. Anne and Rachel have shared their hearts with us and their knowledge of our Father.

The world we live in is so corrupt with evil that our only hope is that our new world is coming soon.

Anne and Rachel encourage us to be better Christians, to witness, to share our hearts.

This is a book that you will want to share with others and want to read it again, refer to it when you need encouragement and strive to be the best we can be as we wait for our Lord and Savior.
