Hello Again!
Yesterday I was in a big reader mood, so I gathered a literal handful of books, manga, graphic novels, and my Kindle. I went to the couch where my favorite cozy spot and candle are and spent most of the day reading! It was a great day. One of the graphic novels, I picked up was an E-ARC of Slime Shop (thank you so much to the publisher for the E-ARC in exchange for my honest opinions). I had a great time with this graphic novel so without further ado, let’s dive in!
SPOILERS AHEAD
BSJ is a slime shop run from home by a group of three friends. But whenever they are not in the shop, the slimes come to life (Toy Story style) and hang out with one another. However, one of the older Slimes, named Boris lives mostly under the bed and lately, he has seemed grumpier than normal. One day when the group leaves to drop off some slime orders, one of the slimes catches Boris doing something really weird and now the group must figure out what to do.
I really enjoyed my time with this story. I had never heard of the author’s slime shop but I will definitely have to check it out! I loved the art style for this story, the colors popped off the pages! I would definitely read another story about the slime shop and the slimes within it! This graphic novel comes out on August 8th, I definitely recommend giving it a try!
Goodreads Rating: 5 Stars

This was a cute graphic novel about three kids that run a slime shop. But when the kids are done for the day the slimes come out to play! But there's one slime that wants to ruin their fun, Boris. Can the slimes save the day and defeat Boris? You'll have to check this one out for yourself and see!
Overall, this was cute and I think had a good message about working together for a common goal.
Do YOU love slime? Do YOU love YouTube videos about slime? Do YOU just love reading great graphic novels?! Then this is DEFINITELY the book for YOU!!
What a super fun- colorful graphic novel about the lives that slime live when no one if looking. This graphic novel was so much fun to read, I would recommend it to any young reader, especially those that are resistant to reading. It was almost like watching a YouTube show it was such a smooth read. And the illustrations...five-stars for sure.
Grateful to have received a digital copy of this book from NetGalley & HarperCollins Children's Books, Versify.
I love that this book included a real slime maker. The art style was so adorable! I loved every second of it!
This book was a short and sweet delight! I don't know the slime maker Karina Garcia so I was able to view this book from an amateur's perspective for sure and I just thought the slime characters were way too cute.
There's a thrilling mystery to solve and a bit of suspense mixed in with hopefulness throughout.
Great graphic novel for juveniles and crafty, slimy people!
Thank you to HarperCollins Children's Book for this ARC. My daughter loved watching Karina Garcia make slime on you tube. This book was so cute, told from the viewpoint of the slime. My Library kids are going to enjoy reading this Graphic Novel.
Thank you to #NetGalley, the authors and the publisher of the book for the eARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A cute graphic novel about slime that comes alive when their creators leave the room! It was a cute read and one that I think that some kids will really be into. It was a little slow at times for me, but overall it was a fun read.
My third-grader was thrilled to see that famous slimer Karina Garcia had written a graphic novel! Very fun -- will definitely be under consideration for the library's collection, as slime and graphic novels are two of my patrons' favorite things.
Many thanks for the opportunity to read and review!
Attention all slime lovers!
Written by YouTube smile sensation Karina Garcia, this graphic novel follows a group of friends who run a slime shop. When they leave the shop the real fun begins. The slimes are actually alive and they have to stop Boris, a grump green slime, from turning the rest of the slimes into zombies.
This novel is not just a cute story, it also has recipes at the end for you to make. The illustrations are bright and colorful and the pages are laid out nicely. This will definitely be a hit in the elementary classroom!
Thank you NetGalley for the advance copy for review.
DNF at 50%.
To be honest, I don’t know how I made it so far. I read a lot of kid lit and graphic novels and this is the first I DNF. It wasn’t engaging at all. I thought I’d like the idea of a Toy Story but with slime story but it dragged.
Would not recommend.
This was the cutest book ever! Neither I, nor my tween had ever seen the said content creator/author, so it was all brand new to us. Clean, cute, and absolutely adorable – you can give this book to your kid anytime and not worry about them reading or seeing something you might not want to talk about right there and right then (I know for a fact that this is a real concern for some). Also, did I say it was cute? It was cuteness overload in fact!
As an added bonus: there are diy slime-making recipes! Ones a kid can successfully make on their own!
