This is a fun, sweet and heartfelt romance!
I really enjoyed this storyline. I loved the dynamic between Brody, Harper & Ivy and I have a weakness for men like Brody in my romance books so I knew I was going to love him from the very beginning (can't say why "men like him" without spoilers). These characters all have some issues from their pasts but together they work on their issues and find exactly what they need in each other. I love how strong the women in this book are also, all of them know what they want and what they deserve and what they won't put up with. We also can't forget Ham, the huge loveable dog, I love when an animal is a large part of the story. I also really liked they way this story came together in the end, some drama but not an over abundance of added unnecessary drama which I absolutely appreciate.
The narration was good but I prefer dual narration. She did a good job but I just enjoy both male & female narrators.

I thoroughly enjoyed this quick read. The narrator was easy to listen to and the plot was heartwarming with a couple fun surprises. This is my first book by Jill Shalvis and I plan to read more. Thank you to NetGalley and Harper audio for this ARC.
The narrator is wonderful. Loved this story and all the wholesome characters in here. This author really has a talent in delivering constant good reads. When I see her name I know Iโm in for a feel good story.
This story captured my heart early on and never let go. I loved the way the need for love and acceptance was expressed and the way it was acknowledged and soothed. The characters are so well-rounded and we see so much personal growth from all of them. I think there is something relatable for everyone and I've found that to be a beautiful part of every Jill Shalvis book I've read. She writes the magic of being uncomfortably human and learning to be ok with it. The audiobook is fantastic and I loved every minute spent with this novel.

When Harper Shaw's life falls apart, she knows it's time to move on and is ready for a change and perhaps hometown comfort so moves back to Lake Tahoe with her dog Ham. She bought a bakery - Sugar Pine Bakery which is located next to a tavern, owned by sexy, grumpy bartender Bodie Campbell โ who is also her landlord.
She meets Ivy late one evening who is a runaway teen looking for her long lost fatherโฆas well as a place to belong. Harper sees herself in Ivy so decided to takes her in but soon finds out that Ivy has secrets.
I love the setting for this story. Awww that cover!
We have vacation in Tahoe several times- in the winter as well as the summer. It is located on the edge of California and Nevada. The Nevada side is a mini Vegas with fab casinos and fun night life. In winter there is great skiing ~ in fact this winter the area got 15 feet of snow- yes feet! Ski season should continue until June. HArper's experience with snow in July really is not that strange!
Personal Thoughts: Although I am not a big romance fan I do like a nice sweet love story.
This story did not disappoint. My first Jill Shalvis story but I will definitely read another.
Want to thank NetGalley and Harper Audio for granted me this early audiobook.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for June 13, 2023
A sweet, heartfelt summer beach read about starting over, finding family and second chances. I really enjoyed this women's fiction/romance set in a small town outside Tahoe that sees baker Harper Shaw and her giant dog opening a new bakery after her life implodes back home. Along the way she takes in a runaway teen girl and falls for the local bar owner who has his own wounds to heal.
Great on audio narrated by Andi Ardnt, Jill Shalvis is quickly becoming one of my favorite summer read authors! Recommended for fans of authors like RaeAnne Thayne, Dylan Newton or Mary Kay Andrews. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early audio copy in exchange for my honest review!
Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy of this audiobook. This is my first Jill Shalvis book, but I have many on my shelves because her book covers are my absolute favorite. After listening to this one, I will definitely be reading more of her books. The Sweetheart list was a heartwarming feel good story! LOVED IT!
Jill Shalvis does it again! I loved The Sweetheart List. It was a sweet story about hope, forgiveness and family and how far we will go to protect the ones we love. All her books are good, but this one had some serious topics included too and I really liked how it all came together in the end. I would highly recommend this one.
Initial Thoughts
This was fantastic! I had a great time getting to know the characters in this story. Harper is ready to find some joy in her life when she moves to Sunrise Cove. She soon meets her landlord, Bodie, who also owns and runs the tavern next door. Her path also crosses a lost teenage girl that she decides to take under her wing. I loved watching these characters open up to each other and I wanted to see good things happen for each and every one of them. I listened to the audiobook and Andi Arndt did a great job of bringing this story to life.

Oh my gosh! This was my first Jill Shalvis novel and now I want to read all of her books!
I loved this book and binged it in two days!!
Harper moves to Sunrise Cove to open a bakery. She falls for her hunky landlord and ends up getting involved with a runaway. This was an entertaining read with a hint of steam.
This audiobook really just hit the spot for me! I was in a reading slump and this one is a quick, sweet listen.
Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Audio for the ALC.

Another winning romance from Queen Jill Shalvis. We are back in the adorable Sunrise Cove and this time itโs a grumpyxsunshine romance with found family elements AND A BAKERY. Harper Shaw needs a change and she finds what she is looking for in Sunrise Cove - starting her own bakery called Sugar Pine Bakery. However, she doesnโt see her neighbor and landlord, Bodie Campbell, coming. Or Ivy, a teenage runaway with plenty of secrets.
I absolutely loved this audiobook. It was adorable and cozy and sweet and just warm. Andie Arndt is perfection and one of my favorite narrators. She brings all of the characters to life. Bodie and Harper were hilarious and I loved their banter. I loved Ivy and Harperโs relationship, as well as all of the side characters. I was so invested in this story and already want to return to Sunrise Cover. Why canโt it be a real place?

Wow. This is the feel good book of the summer!. It is such a sweet and heartfelt novel. I adore the setting of Sunrise Cove - it really becomes a character in its own right. The main characters of Harper, Bodie and Ivy are all well developed and wonderfully flawed which allows the reader the ability to truly connect with each of them. This is truly a book about second chances for each of them, and finding their way to the love that each of them desperately needs in their life.
The Sweetheart List will definitely appeal to readers of all ages. I will definitely have this book ready to recommend!
