Skulduggery and evil plans abound in this whacky time-travel romance. Thrown back into the 17th century, Lorna Merriweather finds herself in the middle of a snowstorm and being transported to a castle that she knows no longer exists. Her confusion is real, but it is nothing compared to what Gunn, the Earl of Caithness is feeling when the strange woman arrives with his intended bride. Gunn's daughter, Bella, views the situation with the eyes of a child and decides that Lorna will make a much better stepmother and starts planning her own strategy to ensure that her father marries the right woman. There is humor in the plot and at times I laughed out loud, and I was glad that Gunn and Lorna found the love they both needed. I received a copy of this romance as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

I read this book to relax. To get my mind off reality. And the novel did just what I wanted it to. I loved the characters and the situations they found themselves in. The storyline was just different enough to keep me turning those pages.
