Naomi Pearson's brother Jared is in a bind after getting tangled up with the wrong crowd, the only person that she knows to turn to is her ex-husband Conner Ryan.
A fast paced suspense, full of tension, with a mystery that kept me guessing. Naomi and Conner have changed a lot since their failed marriage, and I enjoyed seeing them reconnect bonding through their love of family and faith.
An action-packed read, with great interaction, wonderful characters, and a plot that had me hanging on tight. Thoroughly enjoyed this book by a new to me author!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Naomi witnessed her brother being framed for a murder and now he's on the run. She would love to do anything but call her ex Conner who is a bounty hunter but she's going to need his help to find her brother. Now it seems someone is after her and she must keep safe until the people behind her brothers framing and the attacks on her life is caught.
I really enjoyed this book and seeing how it played out. The characters were interesting. They had a past with eachother and it didn't work out, had their own seperate life experiences and now are forced into eachothers lives once again. There were plenty going whether it was spotting her brother or few attempts on her life where you can't help but wonder who is this person and why they are doing what they are doing. Then there was the brief romance that is going on in the book this book is a clean one so I did appreciate that. Overall this was a pretty good book I loved following along as they pretty much ran for their lives.
I enjoyed this yummy book! It is in the category of one of my favorites: Christian romantic suspense. It is clean and somewhat short. The characters were easy to like, and their problems understandable. Naomi is startled to find her brother killing someone, with another person's hand forcing his to do it! Seeing her brother set up and running, she gets help from her former spouse, Connor. They work together feverishly, with Naomi's life being repeatedly threatened. Naomi and Connor show maturity and discover that they have both changed since the traumatic events leading up to their divorce, but their main focus needs to be to stay alive and find Naoim's brother.
I appreciate being able to read this book, compliments of the publishers. The opinions expressed are my own.
Fugitive in Hiding, the fourth in a Love Inspired Suspense series, reads well even for those unfamiliar with the previous books. The book captured my attention immediately when Naomi Pearson, the main character, found herself thrust into a life-threatening situation. When her brother is suspected of murder, she is forced to accept help from a local bounty hunter and ex-husband, Connor Ryan.
The author weaves a believable tale that led to the couple's separation and left me pulling for both of them. She did throw in an added twist at the end of the story, as well.
I will definitely read another of Jenna Knight's books and recommend Fugitive in Hiding if you enjoy romantic suspense with a Christian worldview.
This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the fourth book in the Range River Bounty Hunters series. I fell in love with the characters in this book at the beginning of this book. The book is a fast paced fill of suspense with a lot of action with a little romance mixed into it. The beginning of this book put us in the middle of the action, but you figured out what was going on very quickly, and you kept wanting to keep reading. I really enjoyed this book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Love Inspired Suspense) or author (Jenna Night) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.
Another fast paced Love Inspired suspense that kept me turning pages into the night because I just had to find out what happened.
Fugitive in Hiding is book four in the Range River Bounty Hunter series written by Jenna Night. It is not necessary to have read the previous books as this can be read as a standalone book.
Summary: Naomi Pearson’s return to her hometown is immediately rocked by tragedy. Her brother is framed for murder, and now she and her brother are being hunted by an unknown enemy.
The only way to keep them both safe is to rely on her ex-husband, bounty hunter Connor Ryan.
She knows he’s their best chance at staying alive, but will she be able to protect her heart in the process?
My Thoughts: I didn’t love this book. There is plenty of action, and a nice romance, but it was kind of predictable, the characters weren’t very memorable, and I really had a hard time getting into the story.
This one just wasn’t for me.
I would like to thank Harlequin Romance for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my review. Thank you.
Page-turning romantic suspense. Many exciting, nail-biting moments. A sweet second-chance romance. Many interesting characters. Had I read the prior books in the series it would have been a delight to revisit them. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.
What a great read! This book hooks you on the first page and doesn't let go. It's a sweet second chance romance that is full of action, drama, suspense, and mystery. It will keep you guessing until the end. Loved it and highly recommend this book.
I received a complimentary copy from HARLEQUIN - Romance (U.S. & Canada), Love Inspired Suspense via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Another great Love Inspired story. Cute as always but also predictable as usual. A short quick read. Perfect if you only have a little time on your hands.
Fugitive in Hiding (Range River Bounty Hunters Book 4) by Jenna Night
This is a second chance romance with angst, suspense, danger, wonderful characters and very HEA.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:.
Entertaining Wonderful characters Easy-to-read Action-packed Romantic Happily Ever After.
Wow, this was an wonderful story! I loved the action and storyline in this one. Jenna Knight is a new-to-me author, and I loved getting to read this one from her. I really enjoyed the suspense elements in this one. Well done!
I felt this book was about trust and learning to forgive each others mistakes. Connor and Naomi had briefly been married until a tragedy they couldn't come to grips with tore them apart. Now Naomi need Connor's to help her clear her brother of murder charges. Connor also needs to protect Naomi as someone is trying to kill her. Through all this Connor and Naomi struggle to forgive each other.
This was a fast paced book that I enjoyed reading as they worked through their struggles. I was given this book by Love Inspired Suspense Publishing via Net/Galley for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.
This book starts out in a full fledged run, and it does not slow down until the final pages. Naomi Pearson gets a strange call from her brother, Jared. Someone is framing him for a murder he did not commit. Jared has worked hard to clean up his act. With bullets flying all around them, they escape and call Naomi's bounty hunter ex-husband, Connor Ryan, for assistance. When Jared disappears from the scene, Naomi vows to help Jared find him. She does not believe her brother is capable of killing anyone. It soon becomes apparent that someone is trying to kill Naomi, so one has to wonder about the true target in this situation. Naomi seemingly has no enemies, but obviously someone wants to end her life.
The action is full throttle with one disaster after another as Connor tries to keep Naomi safe all while both of them are fighting feelings for one another. They were married when they were young and div0rced after a tragedy destroyed their marriage. You will be pulling for their victory over the bad guys and victory in a restored relationship as they have been granted a second chance at love. You will feel as if you have ran a marathon after reading this action-packed, suspense-filled mystery.
I really admired the character of Connor. He was obviously a man of great character as he formally adopted and raised his younger siblings after the death of their parents. Naomi was obviously a wonderful woman as well, and wanted to give back to the community. The inspirational message is woven throughout the book as both characters have learned to lean on their faith.
I actually feel as if I have ran a marathon after reading this book. Whew! I feel as if I have been fighting the bad guys alongside the characters which I love when reading a great mystery. It makes the characters and the book come alive. This is a wonderful romantic suspense book that is an easy read as long as you can handle the tension and suspense.
Thank you to Harlequin and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is a clean, Christian romance that is part of a series.
Naomi Pearson is back in Range River to save a furniture making company from bankruptcy and to have a relationship with the brother she left behind when she moved away. A brother that is a recovering addict and an alcoholic.
Connor Ryan, a well respected owner of a bounty hunting company never forgot Naomi. She was the girl he married and lost after a devastating tragedy.
Now twenty years later when Noami’s brother is in danger and puts her in danger, Connor comes to the rescue.
As the danger intensifies , each secretly realizes that the old feelings are still there. But can they risk getting together a second time? Will they be able to rescue Naomi’s brother before the bad guys kill him and her?
The plot was engaging and the characters likable. That said, though this story could be considered a stand alone, I have to confess that since I had not read the previous stories, I felt I missed a little on the background of the characters of the previous stories that have a part in the story.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Harlequin. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
What a beginning! Author Jenna Night just grabs the reader right from the start. A phone call from Naomi's brother turns the world upside down. This is an action packed plot that leads Naomi to a murder scene and into the presence of her ex-husband and bounty hunter, Conner.
I received the advanced reader's copy from Harlequin through NetGalley and this is my unsolicited opinion about it. I can tell you that it is a stand-alone finale of a series. Now I want to read the other books. It's a nice second chance romance that shows what maturity and forgiveness can do for the future of a couple who have given their lives to the Lord.
Fugitive in Hiding by Jenna Night was an interesting book. Lots of action along with some romance between Connor and Naomi while they try to find her brother Jared who is hiding from the killers.
A very captivating book that holds your interest from page one. I highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book from Harlequin Love Inpired suspense for my honest review. All words and opinions are my own and this book will be published on June 27, 2023.
I received a complimentary copy of Fugitive in Hiding and this review is my own.
Fugitive in hiding was an easy to read book and it had suspense and mystery.
It was thrilling having a bounty hunter on the trail of his ex-wife's brother.
Well written!
This was a fast moving, second chance, Christian romantic suspense. I liked the criminal and family aspects. I haven’t read much with bounty hunters so that was definitely an interesting aspect. This is my first by this author and in this series. The tie up was a bit overloaded for me - so much information in such a short period of time. But, the mystery kept me guessing the whole way through and, at the end, I was wrong! That doesn’t happen very often anymore.
"Fugitive in Hiding" is a Christian romantic suspense. It's the 4th in a series but works as a stand-alone. The bounty hunter angle was interesting. Since Connor wasn't law enforcement, it limited what they could do to solve the case. His team mostly tried to protect Naomi from repeated attacks, tried to figure out why she was a target (as she had no clue), and tried to track down and arrest her brother, who had failed to show up for his court date.
The main characters were likable and reacted realistically to events. Naomi and Connor were briefly married before a tragedy pulled them apart. Now, years later, they discovered that they liked the other's more mature personality. They felt that life experience plus the fact that both accepted God and allowed Him to change them would help them respond better as a couple in the future. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this enjoyable suspense novel.
