Meeting at a wedding where they are best man and maid of honor, Sebastian and Anna feel a spark they can't deny. Not wanting a future commitment after a one-night fling, Seb pushes Anna away. Their journey to reconciliation and the awareness that they are meant to be together was enjoyable and well written.
Midnight Surrender was a fantastic book. Carol Marinelli has a way to captivate her readers. The romance book was everything you would want in sweet story!
A big thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Presents for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the 2nd in a series, but reads well as a stand alone. This one was just okay for me. While I usually enjoy this author-this one felt a little flat. Not sure why. Maybe the lack of communication? Sebastian's attitude at the beginning? I did like Anna. This is a quick read, just not my favorite. 3 stars
It would be better to read the first book in the series to better understand the family dynamics. The h goes to Spain to be maid of honor in her best friend's wedding. There she meets the fiancee's brother. They start an affair. As a result of the H's family issues, the H really doesn't want children or serious connections to any one. The h's best friend is gong through a difficult pregnancy and needs the support of her friend. when the H finds out the h has a little girl, he decided to break things off.
I was provided an arc e-copy by the publisher Harlequin Presents by the author
Carol Marinelli. I'm giving my honest review.

It was just so-so. Something to pass the time when you sit in the waiting room of your doctor’s appointment. It was one of those series Harlequin where they try to get you to read the stories of the other characters by teasing you with the supporting characters story lines. Not my cup of tea.
Carol Marinelli brings us the story of single mom Anna who has flown to Spain to attend her best friend's wedding as maid of honor. She is met by handsome older brother of the groom Sebastian at the airport. Their instant attraction leads to one night of passion before she heads back home to reality. When Anna comes back because of her friend's pregnancy, she is confronted again by the strong attraction she feels whenever Sebastian is close by. When tragedy strikes, Anna makes a decision that may lead to heartbreak especially since Sebastian made it clear that what they shared will not be repeated.
Will Anna be able to change his mind and heart? Will Sebastian be able to let Anna in and take that chance? We get to watch these two struggle with themselves and each other as they try to figure out what should happen next. With each page, you want to know what they will decide and if they will take that chance on each other.
I received and read an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and HARLEQUIN - Romance (U.S. & Canada), Harlequin Presents for this privilege.
