Another great thriller by Daniel Hurst. He ropes you in from the very first page and I could not stop reading! I really could not stand Kate’s husband, Mark by the end and I was rooting for Kate all the way. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my early release in exchange for my honest review. To be published May 2023.
Another winner from Daniel Hurst! Finished this one in a day- fun, fast paced, and thrilling. Definitely recommend!
You know, there's not a single Daniel Hurst book I haven't rated 5 stars so far. And this one is no exception.
I love this author's writing style. He's realistic. He just snaps his fingers and suddenly there you are, inside the character's minds, caring and relating to them from the very first chapter. It's impressive how he does it really.
Immediately hooked, a fast read, a unique plot, this is a a page turner! I loved it!
This particular plot kept me very entertained. I loved the bridal/wedding theme -- so well written! The psychological and physical abuse parts were thougher to read but again they were realistic and the villains were great (I hated Mark!). The ending was simple yet it rocked. I know it may be perceived flat by some, but there are people like her, you know?
Many thanks to NetGalley, Inkubator Books and Daniel Hurst for providing an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book. As with all Daniel Hurst books, it was amazing!! Imagine not being sure you want to marry your fiance, then going to look at bridal dresses and seeing what you think is the perfect man! Except he is getting married to someone else. This was a quick read, because I couldn't put it down.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoy this author, but this one fell a little bit flat to me. I found the twists to be predictable and I knew what was going to happen way before it actually did. That being said, it was still a fun read. It still kept my interest even though I wasn't shocked or amazed by anything that happened, and I still wanted to keep reading to find out if I was right. I didn't see the ending of the epilogue coming, but I don't know that it really added much to the story.
This was my first Daniel Hurst book and I enjoyed it. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. The story is told from main character Kate's point of view and she seems a bit unreliable. Some of the things that happen seem kinda far fetched, so I'm left wondering if they really happened or only took place in her mind.
The plot is really unique. I've never read another thriller quite like it. It's well paced and kept me guessing but the ending was slightly underwhelming. Overall, I found it to be a very entertaining read and will definitely be picking up more titles from this author.
Thank you to Daniel Hurst, Inkubator Books and NetGalley for providing this advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review.
I'm a huge fan of Daniel Hurst and always excited to read his new ones! This one is bound to be a hit as it is a great thrill ride! Hurst is good with the unexpected villain of the story and you never know who it is until the reveal. The prologue was great and had me wondering how it would all tie in at the end after reading it. As usual, it works, as Hurst does well with writing prologues to drag you in! All of his fans will love this new one! Thanks to Netgalley, the publishers, and Daniel Hurst for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I’ve read a couple of books now by Daniel Hurst and I really like his writing style. He dies a great job with character development. In this particular book, he did such a good job writing these characters, I can’t decide which character was the most psycho. In a good way! Quick read, I was able to finish the book in 2 days. Looking forward to reading more!
Thank you to the author, Inkubator Books, and NetGalley for the advance reader copy. I’m leaving my honest review voluntarily.
Thank you to the author and @netgalley for allowing me to read and review The Bride to Be. I loved the Doctors Wife by Hurst which I read in March. You instantly get sucked into the storyline and I found this book nearly impossible to put down! Lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing the whole way through! Must read! Released on 7th May 2023.
Daniel Hurst’s The Bride to Be is an engrossing domestic thriller about Kate and Mark, a couple who are about to be married. Kate is tarting to have doubts about Mark who is unpredictable and emotionally abusive. This page-turner is well plotted and the characters are believable and really well written. A quick and entertaining read.
“You’ll see it’s a good thing to be a wife. Look at the wives of my friends. They are all happy. They know how to behave. My friends have no problems with them, and soon, we’ll be the same.’
It is that Kate, Mark and the other characters in this book are constantly using their mobile phone, not for calling people but for posting pictures and checking other peoples’ pictures, or otherwise you would have thought this story is set in the fifties or sixties of the last century.
How on earth is it possible that a woman of 38, apparently with a full time job, is spending her free time doing just one thing: to try and find a husband. Not even a rich one or a handsome one, no, just any man would do provided they are not too poor or ugly or have a criminal background. Well, Kate is mistaken here. Her fiancé Mark could well have a criminal background, but he’s been very clever in hiding his more unsavoury character traits. And Kate chooses to ignore them – just like that. After all, she is desperate because she’s nearing 40.
Anyway, Mark is trouble, Kate is not really happy with him, and when she thinks she sees a chance for real happiness, she goes for it full force. It’s only a pity the subject of her adoration thinks otherwise, so Kate sets to work to try and convince him he’s experiencing the same problems as she has, and they would be much better suited for each other. The only thing they have to do is walk away from their current relationship.
But that’s not easy, and when things threaten to go terribly wrong, everything changes.
I was in the mood for a light mystery, and with Daniel Hurst, you know what you get. I must admit his books are a bit addictive. Except for The Accident, they are in the three- or four star category, and The Bride to Be is no exception. This one was a nice read with a little surprising ending.
Thanks to Netgalley and Inkubator Books for this review copy.
I really enjoyed this one! Throughout it, I thought I knew what would happen next but I was so happy to be wrong. If you're looking for a quick, fun and thrilling read, this is the book for you!
Thanks to Netgalley and Daniel Hurst for the ARC!
Daniel Hurst has done it again. I found myself quickly reading this book. A bride to be has second thoughts as to whether to marry her not so perfect fiancée. How far will things go? Will she end up marrying him? Read to find the twists and turns in this book.
Really fast read. Some of the characters decisions made me cringe. Overall the books was amazing and glad I read it.

Thank you, Inkubator Books, for a copy of Daniel Hurst’s latest book. I have read a few books from this author, and he never disappoints. This is a fast-paced thriller, with an original plot. And it’s a highly entertaining read. 5 stars from me.

This was my second book by Daniel Hurst, and his writing is good, the plot ideas are good but its also really predictable, which I think he does it on purpose.
The bride to be was really predictable but also enjoyable to read, the characters were mid.
But I would recommend his books to someone who's starting this genre.
I have really enjoyed everything I have read by this author and this book was no exception.
Great plot, good characters and a fantastic twist. I thoroughly enjoyed it and stayed up late to finish it. I just didn’t want to put it down. I definitely recommend it.
Thanks to NetGalley for sending me the ARC in return for an honest review.

Kate is getting married but is having doubts as her fiance Mark often mistreats her. Then she spots a happy couple during a wedding dress fitting and can't help becoming obsessed with them. But what she finds out shocks her. Do the couples have more in common than she realises? She has some important decisions to make and must do what she can to keep them safe...
Another brilliant book by Daniel Hurst. Captivating and shocking, I raced through this. Brilliant!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of the book in return for my honest feedback.
