Another fab read from Daniel Hurst.
An interesting story where i longed for the main character to see the light and get the hell out of there. At the same time i wondered about her sanity with what she also decided to do?
My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.
Would make a great holiday read.
The Bride to Be is an intriguing domestic thriller involving a couple who are getting ready for their wedding that is rapidly approaching. Kate is beginning to doubt her love for her fiancé Mark. She feels so alone and is scared to leave Mark because he is so unpredictable. So time goes by and she is still with Mark, but Kate had a plan. The plan was logical and thought out but she didn’t realize she wasn’t the only one with a plan! The plot was unique and cleverly written. An entertaining read that kept me engaged from the first page.
Yet again, another thrilling edge of your seat read by this author. My favourite author does not disappoint.
Well I’m just a huge Daniel Hurst fan! He never disappoints. The book was so well written with creepy twists and turns. And the characters are amazing. Always such a treat to get totally engrossed in his books.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book
Thanks to #NetGalley and #InkubatorBooks for letting me read #TheBrideToBe by #DanielHurst. I have to admit I have read a bad book yet by him. This book was amazing like all the other ones I have read. Although it had a few thrilling moments, it had a little romance as well.
I have read quite a few of his books - this one did not disappoint! I couldn't put it down!
Hurst grabs you from the first page, which I love, and holds your interest till the last word read.
Do yourself a favor and grab a copy of this book.
Kate is getting married soon, but she still hasn't found her dress, and her fiancé is getting impatient. She is excited, but dreading it at the same time. She never knows if Mark will be having a good day, or a bad one? She is having doubts. Should she leave Mark? While she is trying on a dress, a couple enters the shop, and she is immediately drawn to the man, Tristan. She then decides he is her ideal man. But as she discovers more things about him, she realizes he has his problems too.
OK. Where do I start? I usually love Daniel Hurst books, I think it's the first one I didn't like... This psychological thriller was a flop for me. First of all, suspend all disbelief, this one is way over the top. There is not a lot of dialogue, which I dislike, and there was too much foreshadowing. Also, I couldn't relate to any of the characters, neither could I get behind any of Kate's motivations (they don't make any sense... eg she is hesitant to leave her abusive husband because she is getting older and wouldn't want to have to start from square one with another man?!?!). Anyway. I gladly recommend any of Daniel Hurst's other books (The Accident and The Break were my favorite), but I would skip this one.
I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Oh I was waiting for something to happen in this story. Some big plot twist and good ending. Sadly it didn't happen and I was left feeling deflated and disappointed.
⚠️ mental abuse, gaslighting
This book was off the charts! Another fantastic book by Hurst.
This is a story of a woman who was severely mentally abused by her fiance, and the struggle and emotional pain she went through.
While trying on wedding dresses Kate sees a woman also trying on dresses and her fiance was with her. In her mind she becomes obsessed with this man whom she felt was the "perfect man".
I was a victim of psychological abuse so I really felt for Kate and her situation. I also understood her making up a fantasy world to escape from her current one.
I felt Hurst did an amazing job with this story. The prologue sucked me right in, and I couldn't read it fast enough! He is such a wonderful author and I look forward to his next one.
Another great book by Author Daniel Hurst that grabbed me from the first page and did not let go! Kate is engaged to Mark and she is looking for a wedding dress for the upcoming wedding which is only a few weeks away. While at the bridal shop, she spots a beautiful woman with her handsome fiancé also dress shopping. Kate becomes obsessed with this couple and finds out who they are. Lots of twists, turns and surprises in this book which I really enjoyed and deserves more than 5 stars.
Thank you NetGalley and Inkubator Books for the ARC of this very suspenseful and riveting book. I am looking forward to this author's next book!
Big fan of this author as you know and the books just keep coming
This story is about a bride,Kate, who is soon to be married to Mark,Mark though is far from all he seems and one day at a Bridal Shop she is fixated by another couple also there looking for a wedding dress, she becomes obsessed with Tristan and as it turns out all it not as it seems there either,in fact nothing is at it seems with any of them andas decisions are made the weddings are not going to go as planned
A dynamic snappy attention pulling read as always from this author with an unusual conclusion
Yet another good read from this most prolific of writers
Thank you NetGalley and Inkubator Books for an early copy of The Bride To Be. Daniel Hurst has now become my go to author and when a new book is out, I get so happy. This one was a bit far fetched but very fast reading. It was a good premise but it became tooooo unrealistic in many
parts whether it was the texts or the grocery store scene as just an example. I still kept reading because he always has a twist that you don’t see coming. Wasn’t one of his best books but again I know I’ll be happy when I see another new release coming.
Another great book from Daniel Hurst, they just keep getting better and better, can’t wait until the next one comes out
This book is about a bride to be named Kate. She’s a little hesitant about her upcoming wedding. While she’s dress shopping she becomes obsessed with Tristan and will do anything to get closer to him. I really enjoyed reading this book it’s a page turner.
Firstly I would like to thank inkubator books and the author Daniel hurst for access to the bride to be.
The review I am going to make is an honest review regardless of the access I received for this book. It should be noted I was not paid for this review and ensure honesty in all my reviews.
Kate is getting married but is worried her partner mark isn’t always nice to her and is he even the one. She fixates on another happy couple and becomes obsessed with the groom Tristan. What decision will she make.
The thriller has my heart pounding and sitting on the edge of my seat as I read it. One of the best books I have ever read by this author and in this category. Going to reread it again.
Heart pounding thriller that left me on the edge of my seat. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one. Definitely one of the best books this year.
I really enjoyed this book. Once the twist happenings in the middle of the book, I was confused what else could happen but it kept me guessing. This was written well and shines light on a taboo topic. I also love the underlying message too.
What can I say? Another amazing Daniel Hurst book!!! Lots of twists..this has to go on my top 5 daniel Hurst books ever!!!!!
Another fantastic book from this author. This had me gripped from the first chapter until the very last chapter.
This was a fast paced thriller. The story follows a couple who are due to be married but not all is well. The husband to be is controlling and manipulative but in public is the perfect person. Another couple who are well off have everything going for them. When both these couples meet things become deadly.
Excellent thriller which I will definitely be recommending to everyone.
This book captivated me from the beginning, I was kept guessing the entire time. Kate started to annoy me a little bit since I was unable to tell if she was insane or delusional. After all, nobody really interacts in this manner, do they? I was on the edge of my seat the entire time reading this; highly recommended.
Thank you to NetGalley and Inkubator Books for the review copy.
