A bit of a predictable story, but there were some interesting twists. Definitely worth reading though.
A chance sighting at a bridal shop sets the stage for this suspenseful story. It starts with obsession and ends in a dramatic way. Two couples are planning their weddings and the consequences of their individual relationships and how they relate to each other are what moves the story forward. It explains how some people hide behind a facade of being nice on the outside but privately are very different people. It's a tangled web of lies. envy, regret and fantasy that will keep you interested until the last page.
Bitchhhhhhh if you watched the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial and you were Team Johnny then this will give you soooo much satisfaction.
The first few chapters I was not impressed. It was giving Couple at Table 6 (Great book but already done). Delusional chick latches on to a couple. BUT thankfully I knew Daniel was too good to do us like that and I was right.
He had me switching teams every few chapters. Bishes were unhinged, plot twists had me clutching my pearls. I felt like this was a Ricki Lake episode about unrequited love with a splash of Dr. Phil taking about toxic relationships.
Content warning: Emotional and Domestic Abuse are very prevalent in this book. I was in my feelings. I wanted to fight people including our protagonist.
My absolute favorite part was the mic drop at the end. Solid Read, Highly Recommend.
Thank you Netgalley, Inkubator Books, and Daniel Hurst for a copy of this ARC.
This was a wild ride. 3.5 stars. I found the main character to be a little strange with the way she became instantly obsessed with the couple she sees at the dress shop. The way she goes about getting closer to that couple was well played out and I can see why she was drawn to the couple that she thought was happy given her current relationship, however, her compulsive behavior left me wondering what the heck she was doing most of the time.
Overall, I did enjoy the story. There were a few good twists and I loved the way she took care of business at end of the story.
This book proves why I love Daniel Hurst's writing. So many twists and turns that I didnt want to put it down until I knew what was going to happen. Brilliant book and one that I will definitely recommend
Many thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC
Daniel Hurst sure knows how to tell a story! The Bride To Be is smoothly written and cleverly plotted leading us on a wild ride. Very enjoyable read!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Inkubator Books for this ARC!
This was a wild ride from start to finish. This was really unique with shocking twists as secrets emerge from both couples, I was completely hooked although it did feel repetitive at times but I'm a big fan of Daniel Hirst and this didn't take away from the overall enjoyment of the book. This is just an amazing fast paced psychological thriller that I highly recommend.
Ummmm where do i begin?
Kate, an excited bride-to-be in her late 30s, isn’t really too excited at all. Having thought she found the love of her life unbeknownst to her everything that sparkles is NOT gold. Truthfully, faaaaar from it. In the midst of getting wedding ready to her fiancé Mark, it becomes a revelation to Kate that she might be making a mistake. Moving forward in her plans despite her inner feelings, it is time to find a wedding dress! During which adventure she conveniently runs into another soon to be wedded couple, Tess and Tristan. As the saying goes, the grass is not always greener on the other side. Fixated on what she has witnessed envy ensues and Kate soon finds out her & Tristan may have alot more in common than just cold feet about their weddings.
The twist and turns of this book will certainly have you thinking about the abundance of possible outcomes. It is not a typical cliche in most ways, yet in certain scenarios that played out within these chapters, it is. The world wind of how this book takes you up, down, and all around will have you turning the pages so fast before you know it, the book ends.
While it was a rather exhilarating story and had me guessing, panicking, gripping my seat, gasping, and speaking out loud as of the characters could hear me…. The ending is what brought me to the conclusion of 4/5 ⭐️s … the end involved a character you see throughout the book but the message it conveyed made no sense and felt thrown together for me. Other than that, this is a grrrrrreat read because I am a fuck with my mind kinda girlie okkkk.
<I><b>Special thank you to Daniel Hurst, Netgalley, as well as Inkubator books for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.
Daniel Hurst quickly became a "must-read" author, and The Bride To Be was perfect. Kate is a hot mess, but her hot mess life is entertaining, and she's also rather loveable. I devoured this book so quickly. Thanks for the advance review copy.
Things often not as they seem and stereotypes are not all valid.. Is there such a thing as the perfect wedding? This page turner was a fast, one day read for me. I like how he writes. Daniel Hurst has done it again! The Bride To Be is a perfect summer beach read
Thank You to NetGalley, Inkubator Books, and Daniel Hurst for the opportunity to enjoy this ARC
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this new book by one of my new favorite authors Daniel Hurst. This book follows Kate who is getting ready for her wedding to Mark. She believes he is the one but then when she sees a couple at the bridal dress store that appears to be the "perfect" couple she starts to question things. What she does next takes her down a dangerous path with many surprise twists. I would totally recommend as I do all this author's books. A quick read.
Is every “perfect” marriage as it seems? This book is a fast paced psychological thriller about two couples who seem perfect on the outside, but behind closed doors, nothing is as it seems. This book for me wasn’t the best just because any twist in the book I called before it happened, which annoyed me honestly. I hate when I can guess or know what’s going to happen. Overall I’d give this book a 3/5 it was a fun read I just wish I didn’t see everything coming.
I would like to thank NetGalley, Inkubator Books, and Daniel Hurst for giving me this ARC in exchange for an honest review! All opinions are my own!

Book Title: Bride to Be
Author: Daniel Hurst
Publisher: Inkubator Books
Genre: Mystery Thriller
Pub Date: May 7, 2023
My Rating: 3.4 Stars
This is my ninth Daniel Hurst thriller. I became a big fan when I read "he Couple in the Cabin". Then read "The Doctor’s Wife", "The Holiday House|", and "The Intruder" ` all became favorites!
In this story Kate and Mark are planning their wedding. Although Kate is excited she is also getting cold feet and wonders if Mark is ‘the right one’. He is verbally and emotionally abusive which seems like a red flag to me! However, Kate is approaching forty and wants to settle down and get married.
When she is having a wedding dress fitting, she notices a very happy couple and wants to be happy like them. She soon becomes obsessed with the pair and decides that Tristan the groom, would the ‘One” for her and becomes fixated on getting him to notice her.
I call myself a fan ~ always love the “Hurst twists and turns”
In the ‘About the Author’, the comment is that Daniel Hurst writes Psychological thrillers and loves to tell tales about unusual things happening to normal people.
Yep he does that as these characters seem like normal people! Hmm. . . .
I always enjoy a Hurst thriller however I guess my expectations were too high.
Yes this story had a surprise but it didn’t shock me ~ the twists and turns just weren’t what I was expecting!
But I certainly will read another Hurst thriller.
Want to thank NetGalley and Inkubator Books for this early eGalley.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for May 7, 2023
Kate is getting married to her partner Mark she should be excited, but he sometimes mistreats her and she's beginning to wonder if his really the one for her.
When she spots a ridiculously happy couple during a wedding dress fitting she decides Tristan the groom is her ideal man and becomes fixated on him, but when she gets to know more about their relationship the more their problems come to light.
She has decisions to make as her wedding day draws closer should she leave Mark?Is Tristan the man she should be with?As dark secrets from both couples emerge what will happen?
A cleverly plotted story told from Kates point of view, who i did find very irritating, with plenty of twists making this overall a good read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Inkubator Books for the ARC.
Kate is getting married. It's an exciting time, but she has some doubts - her partner, Mark sometimes mistreats her, and she's beginning to wonder if he really is "the one". Her concerns only grow when she spots a ridiculously happy couple during a wedding dress fitting. Realising that they have everything she wants, she becomes obsessed with the pair. She decides that the groom, Tristan, is her ideal man and becomes fixated on getting closer to him. As she does, she discovers more and more about him and his seemingly perfect life with his bride-to-be, Tess. Ans realises that below the surface, they have problems too.
What I mostly like about a Daniel Hurst book is that they are all unique. With betrayal, suspense, stalker vibes and the crazy lengths Kate would go to to learn all she could about Tess and Tristan, made this fast paced read hard to put down. The story is told from Kate's point of view. There are some really good twists and great character development. I always like the authors writing style, he pulls you in early and doesn't let you go until the end.
I would like to thank #NetGalley #InkubatorBooks and the author #DanielHurst for my ARC of #TheBrideToBe in exchange for an honest review.
Dress shopping leads to stalking and then murder!
I was so interested in how this all unfolded. Parts of the plot were predictable, and a lot of the story was repetitive, however, I was still intrigued.
*3.5 rounded down* Easy, quick read. Kate is about to get married, but unhappy in her relationship. She sees an attractive couple while trying on dresses and uncovers a secret of theirs, which leads to stalking, revenge, and murder!
Kate definitely was a bit obsessive in the beginning, so I thought the story was going in a different direction at first. The second half became a bit more predictable and there was no real shock to me with the plot. Despite this, I was still interested in how everything would wrap up and see if I was right. Mark was unlikable from the beginning and I felt like the author dealt with the domestic abuse well. I didn't love the narration - maybe since it was Kate's point of view, but it felt too conversational and awkward at times (especially the foreshadowing at the end of the first few chapters).
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC!

What a thrill ride. Thank you so much to net gallery and the publisher for my arc.
Kate ìs getting married just like all her happy married pals. To the outside world it will be the best day of their lives but the world only sees what you want it to. As Kate searchs for the perfect dress she sees a happily engaged couple and starts to question everything as the truth about her relationship is brought home to her loud and clearly. Saying yes was the worst thing ahe ever did.
A real page turner. Good character developmentand a well past story. I liked the way the character were true to life and so relatable The plot was very believable . The last few pages of the book I did find myself screaming what's rhe point in that as I was then waiting for a final twist that never csme. This did not take away from the novel. It was a joy to read. So look forward to the next one.
I first discovered Daniel Hurst because I received an advanced copy of his book “The Doctors Wife” on Netgalley, and I am quickly becoming a huge fan. All of his books I’ve read so far have been amazing, and I’ve read them in a day each time. This one was no different! The suspense and twists keep me so engaged my house could be on fire and I wouldn’t realize it. 😅
