This book was a collection of insightful prompts for reflection and journaling, but it was very introductory. I was hoping for some information that was maybe a little less commonly suggested in various other self-help books. Still good information, but nothing really new.

This was just okay. It didn't really present any information I haven't read in similar books, and it didn't have much information at all. It could've been a website with the smidgeon of information and a list of journal prompts.

This is definitely a book that's value is in the beholder. If you actually sit down and out the work in, I think you can get a lot out of this. I think the different perspective this book provides is the why and the how. You can find shadow work prompts online, but this book goes even deeper in ways I wasn't familiar with.

I really enjoyed this book as an addition to my regular journaling, but this would also be great for a beginner.

Layers and layers and then even more layers have been discovered by following the prompts in this shadow work journal for self love. I have shed many tears. While this journal is for me and me alone, it has helped with my therapy sessions. This is a book at if you can be honest with yourself, you can find the source of the wounds that you are carrying and begin to heal.

Very lovely guide into the realm of shadow work. Shadow work itself is something that can be so dangerous and overwhelming if not done properly, and the prompts in this book are gentle and effective.

This is a nice resource for those beginning an inner work journey. I do think there are others in this category that resonated more with me personally.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. My only wish is that I had this in my hands and not a digital copy. This sort of book I like to hold - to mark up - to take notes directly in. I also like to revisit them in a year and see what my answers are and how I have improved my life. AND - I would love to share this with my friends. I had never heard of Shadow Work - it is a new concept to me that makes complete sense. If I can't let go or accept what happened to me in the past how can I possibly become my best self? Repeating negative patterns is exhausting and truly does limit your journey. Highly recommended!

This would be my very first time reading a self help/ practice journal for anything, let alone Shadow Work but lately I've been really interested in the workings of Shadow work and other topics related to healing my inner wounded energy so that I can embrace my darker side and become the badass I am meant to be.

One thing that I really liked about this workbook were the questions that were meant for more inner exploration. The last section of the book. There are tons of questions about inner work, relating to every sphere in our lives that is usually easily overlooked when one is talking about shadow work. Honestly, every internet search would give you the same questions for shadow work like, "what's a fear you can't let go of" or "what makes you feel ashamed of yourself" but in this book I found many questions by the end of the workbook that dig a little deeper and can't be found copy pasted on the internet anywhere. Another win? They work! In this book, we go from general questions like "what was this person like as a child" to questions that would need a more in-depth understanding of ourselves like "In what situations are you manipulative and why", and "who does your inner critic sound like and why"

I have already filled most of my journal as I answered these questions, and there were several ones that I kept coming back to, to write a fresh perspective on them after every few days. I write without any page or word limit, so that my voice can easily flow on to the page and I can easily understand where I'm lacking and where I can improve, and other things.

All in all, I loved the workbook. I would like to give this book a 4 out of 5 stars. I would like to thank the author and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to send me this book in return for an honest opinion on it.

I enjoyed these exercises. For me, they have been good tools to gather what themes come up over and over in my answers. I felt in-tune with my inner child as I wrote out my responses and that was fulfilling. I was hoping for something a little deeper from the experience, but would recommend this journal to anyone interested in working on their shadow self.

Do you want to face yourself? ALL of yourself? Are you feeling stuck and don't really know why? This book is for you! It is a book that only a Scorpio could write. Dive into the darkness to bring out the light! I have taken shadow work workshops a few times over the last few years and this book is an amazing way to do the work on your own. The information and the journal prompts go together beautifully. I will be buying a few copies for my friends who are committed to doing their shadow work!

This is a useful and great book for those who are just starting their journey of shadow work, self-discovery and are looking for more ways to improve their lives, themselves, and their emotional well-being. Everything is given to the reader on a silver platter here – the readers themselves just have to do the job of taking a deep and honest look into themselves. There are prompts to lead you there.

Shadow Work Journal for Self-Love is a simple yet effective guide that encourages healing. I enjoyed the introduction to this book. The author did an incredible job creating a safe space and providing the reader with the proper tools before diving into shadow work, such as what to expect, how to ground yourself, and when to take a break. If you’re new to shadow work, I highly recommend this book as a guide. The prompts were easy to follow, straightforward, and effective. Thank you to NetGalley and Zeitgeist for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

First of all, I would like to have a clear understanding that this is not a journal.

The book is a self help giving the reader journal prompts for mindfulness and self care I would say.

I really like the introduction and I feel it is a good start for the reader to help in reflecting on what aspects we would want to focus on.

The book has three main sections. The first section describes and help us understand what the “shadow work” is and how we can work on it.

The second section has the basic exercises and techniques we can do anytime without much difficulty.

The third section is my most favourite as it deals with journal prompts for deep exploration.

A basic guidebook I would say which can help you any day.

Thank you, Zeitgeist, for the advance reading copy.
