Palazzo is another amazing Danielle Steel novel . The story line and characters draw you in from the start .
Cosima ends up taking care of her younger siblings and taking over the family business after a tragic accident kills their parents . She always tried her best for her siblings but felt like a failure as one turned out wonderful and the other was nothing but trouble.
This book is full or tragedy, heartache, love and new beginnings.Thank you NetGalley and publisher for a copy for my honest opinion.
Danielle Steel's newest novel centers around Cosima Saverio. After her parents die in a tragic accident Cosima becomes the mother and front-runner of the family business- a brand of elegant, italian, leather handbags. Think Hermes...but classier. At 23 she's now in charge of her younger siblings who both require a ton of time and energy while still being the face of the company. Yet she manages to face it all with grace and class.
Wise beyond her years, Cosima must also care for another family member, the 400 year old family palazzo in Venice. Between the palazzo, Allegra, and Luca, her days and nights are busy. After a series of (somewhat) unfortunate events, she meets the charming Olivier Bayard. He proves himself a gentleman and a good businessman as he is the founder of a lower-end handbag company and doesn't jump at the chance to screw over her business.
In typical Steel fashion, strong family ties often outweigh even the toughest circumstances, but sometimes letting people loose while the hardest can be for the best. Will family ties trump all? Or will the Saverios suffer a tremendous loss? I promise, between the family drama and the descriptions of Venice, this one won't let you down!
4 1/2 STARS!
Even tragedy and hardship is entertaining when Danielle Steel pours on the emotion and angst in her latest spellbinder! I was hooked from the start to Cosima's story and looked forward to more with each turning page. The secondary characters added warmth and drama to the storyline and kept the pace fast and filled with heart.
Cosima was a simple character who was easy to like and admire when presented with all that she had accomplished in her young life. When you added in her siblings to the mix, you got a feel for the pressure she deals with on a constant basis. A part of me wanted to have been in her character's life since the start when she took over the business to live the ups and downs and pressures with her along with her relationships, but the aspect of where she was in life now was also entertaining.
I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys watching the inner dynamics of a powerful family as trauma and circumstance changes their daily life and exposes secrets and lies.
DS Seems to be using the same model for books over and over. Changing the location and the names, but that's about it. She occasionally breaks away from this and surprises me, this book was not one of those. A book filled with wealthy and privileged people, their own share of tragedy and heartache, a couple of bad apples in the bunch, and everyone lives happily ever after in the end. Not a bad story or bad book, just not original. ๐คท๐
Palazzo written by Danielle Steel is a sweet romance story that includes dysfunctional family members. While the book is predictable and a bit repetitive, it is set in Rome, Venice and Paris. The characters although wealthy, have to rise above circumstances to triumph and fall in love. I love escapist fiction from time to time and Ms. Steel knows how to immerse her readers in the scenery and give them a vacation from the hum-drum daily grind. Thanks to NetGalley, Delcorte Press and Danielle Steel for the ARC!

by ๐ท๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ก๐๐๐ is a captivating and heartwarming novel that takes readers on a journey of love, family, and perseverance. The story of Cosima Saverio's struggle to keep her family's Italian leather handbag business alive, while taking care of her siblings, and trying to save their ancestral Palazzo, is both inspiring and emotional. Steel's vivid descriptions of the Italian countryside and the Palazzo create a beautiful and enchanting setting for the story.
The characters in Palazzo are well-developed and realistic, making readers feel as though they are a part of the Saverio family. Cosima's determination to succeed and her selflessness in taking care of her siblings is admirable, while Oliver's unwavering support and love for her is heartwarming.
The novel also touches on important issues such as family dynamics, addiction, and disability, adding depth and complexity to the story. Steel's writing style is engaging, making Palazzo a page-turner that readers won't be able to put down.
Overall, Palazzo is a must-read for anyone who enjoys a heartwarming story of family, love, and perseverance. My question for readers is: what would you do to save your family's ancestral home and business?

Thank you NetGalley & Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the advanced e-reader version. My review consists of my thoughts and opinions only.
I have not read a Danielle Steel book in a long time and this was a great read! Fast paced with wonderful characters! Took place in Italy which I loved ! Highly recommend
Palazzo is another beautifully written story by Danielle Steel. Palazzo is filled with family drama set in beautiful Italy. Steel writes so vividly that the reader can imagine being in Italy. I always recommend a Danielle Steel book.
Danielle Steel was one of the first โgrown upโ authors I started reading in high school. And now, many years later, I still enjoy picking up her books. I know I will get an engaging story that is fun to read with interesting characters. The books are predictable but in a comforting way and there are often turns that are unexpected. Palazzo was no exception. I enjoyed Colimaโs story. I felt for her having to take on all the responsibilities for her siblings and her family business a5 a young age. And the book definitely made me want to board a plane and visit Italy! What wonderfully vivid imagery of the setting! I definitely recommend this to readers who want a lighter read but one with interesting turns and drama.
Danielle Steel has a formula and it works. This is another good book by her. The setting is beautiful and makes you want to start roaming the streets of Venice and Rome. The characters are interesting and complex. My only nit pick is that the author has a tendency to be repetitive with her descriptions, especially about her characters. There are times when I thought I had accidentally hit back on my Kindle only to realize it's just the same description a page later. Still would recommend reading this one.
Thanks to the publisher & NetGalley for free advanced copy, and I am leaving my review freely
Palazzo is a must read for all Danielle Steel fans and even readers who have yet to experience one of her books. Palazzo caught my attention from the very beginning and kept it until the very end. The characters draw you in from page 1 until the end. I found myself rooting for Allegra and that her unselfishness would bring her happiness one day. Palazzo touches on societies struggles with gambling and is a defiantly a lesson for those who it affects.
One leather business and 3 siblings. We go on their lifeโs journey. From likes to dislikes. To everyday living.
I read Palazzo in one day and just now finished it. Wow is an understatement to how talented Ms Steele is!!!!!!!!!! She is and always will be one of the best authors in the world!!!!!!!!
Danielle Steel is a go to read for me when I am wanting to just relax and read a good book. This one was no exception to that. This was a great read in true Danielle Steel style and the characters are totally relatable and likable.
Cosima is the oldest of three siblings and has an interest in the family business but had no clue that she would be taking it over as soon as she does. When her parents are in a tragic accident that also leaves her younger sister, Allegra, in a wheelchair, Cosima is put into a position to take on the business and the household. Cosima's younger brother, Luca has no respect for his sister and all she does for them. Luca is always around with his hand out but doesn't help Cosima one bit. Allegra at least helps with the business and adores her older sister. They have the best relationship and look out for each other.
Cosima has been married to the business since the death of her parents and has never really taken time for herself since. When she happens to meet Olivier, that begins to change slowly. Olivier has to do some convincing to get Cosima to take time for herself and go eat with him but he manages to slowly chisel his way into her life and time. I loved how Olivier was always just there when Cosima needed him and didn't really push himself on her.
When Luca gambles with a friend he meets abroad and ends up loosing way more than he should have, he has to ask Cosima for money, again. They don't have enough to cover what Luca lost so Cosima has to make the tough decision to sell the Palazzo hotel that has been in their family for years. The renters that have been living there wanted to buy it anyway so it works out in their favor. When the renters go on vacation, a fire ends up damaging the Palazzo pretty bad. When Cosima goes to the Palazzo, she is treated sort of smugly by the local authorities because they know things that she doesn't. I don't want to give away the whole book, but you will enjoy this one. I did for sure! Cosima and Allegra are very nice characters and you will fall in love with them and develop a dislike for Luca.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book and all opinions are my own. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher for an advanced copy of this book. I really enjoyed it.
Luca has put everything his sister Cosima has built at risk and now she has a tough decision to make. She raised him and their sister Allegra after the death of their parents when they were teens. She also expanded and bloomed their parents' leather business, where Allegra now designs handbags. All of it, though, came at the loss of a personal life-until she met Olivier, a rich Frenchman who also owns a handbag company. Steel packs a lot into a slim novel you can read in a gulp. The characters aren't especially well rounded or relatable (although I did especially like Allegra) but they work. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. For Steel's fans or an afternoon at the beach.
I always look forward to reading Danielle Steelโs latest book. I have been reading them since I was twelve and they provide a nice break from reality. Palazzo by Danielle Steel sweeps readers to Italy where Cosima Saverio at the age of twenty-three takes over the family business as well managing her two younger siblings. I enjoyed the European setting. The descriptions of Rome and Venice were beautiful including the family palazzo. I could understand Cosimaโs desire to keep it in the family. The vivid pictorials of France were equally compelling. I liked Cosima, Allegra (Cosimaโs younger sister), and Olivier (Cosimaโs love interest). They were friendly, likeable characters. Of course, there are two bad guys that cause all sorts of trouble for their relatives. Palazzo is an easy story to read. I quickly finished it in a couple of hours. It had a satisfying ending (which is expected from a Danielle Steel novel). I would have loved some of the handbags described in the book. I could understand why Saverio bags were so coveted (the workmanship sounded exquisite). Palazzo is a moving story with family drama, second chances, romance, and new beginnings.
โPalazzo" was a captivating novel that delved into the lives of empowered, independent women who rely on their own capabilities to achieve their goals. Cosima, as the responsible sister to her younger siblings, bravely stepped up when she realized her brother, Luca, lacked the drive to take over the family business. She selflessly put her dreams on hold to ensure the business thrived and her siblings were provided for.
Danielle Steel expertly portrayed the toxic trait of always taking without contributing in "Palazzo." Luca's lack of interest in the family business and his expectation of financial support while indulging in a reckless lifestyle shed light on the need to sever ties with toxic family members when their presence begins to harm others. Steel's exploration of this theme resonated deeply and reminded readers of the importance of setting boundaries for their own well-being.
Compared to my first experience with Danielle Steel's work, "The Wedding Planner," I found "Palazzo" to be a more seamless and relatable read. The realistic portrayal of Cosima's relationship with her siblings allowed me to fully immerse myself in her struggles as the family's sole provider. Steel's vivid descriptions of the novel's various settings, including Venice, Rome, and Paris, ignited a desire within me to visit these cities and experience the beauty she painted with her words.
While I thoroughly enjoyed "Palazzo," one aspect gave me pauseโthe predominant use of simple sentences throughout the book. At times, I found myself seeking coherence between the sentences, which occasionally made it feel more like reading a stage play script than a novel. Personally, I gravitate towards novels with longer, more complex sentences, so this deviation from my usual reading experience may have contributed to my slight uneasiness.
Nevertheless, the plot of "Palazzo" was undeniably awesome, and the character development was superb. This story will charm readers once it is published on June 27th. It will take them on an emotional roller coaster ride that will stay with them for months to come. Despite my minor reservations, "Palazzo" remains a book that I wholeheartedly recommend.

The Saverio siblings own a haute couture leather brand in Italy. They inherited it after the death of their parents. Cosima runs the day to day, her sister designs, but their brother prefers to gamble and spend money. When his gambling becomes an issue, Cosima must decide whether or not to sell the family palazzo.
There are a lot of family dynamics in this story and they are artfully detailed. Add in the leather business, the gambling, arson, and all of the romance, you have a charming story that will capture your attention and leave you wanting more. Steelโs books always do!
Thanks to NetGalley and Delacorte Press for this ARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thank you NetGalley, Danielle Steel and Random House Publishing Group for the ARC of Palazzo. This is my personal review.
Cosima Saverio was tossed into the role of head of the family and running the family business. She has two siblings, Allegra and Luca, and they each have their own vision of what the future looks like.
The family dynamics are what Danielle Steel writes so well and this book is filled with challenges, hope, friendship, and romance.
I am a huge Danielle Steel fan so I knew from the first page this was going to be a book that would be hard to put done once I started reading.
I love Danielle Steel books and grew up reading her books. This was not one of my favorites from her. Do not let my feelings discourage you from picking up this book and reading it. You may different feelings regarding the book. It was hard for me to get into and it took me awhile to finish. I was provided a copy of this book by NetGalley, Danielle Steel and Random House Publishing-Ballantine for an honest review. I am writing this review on voluntarily.
