I finally found one that wasn't fabulous :( I mean, considering that I read ALL of Danielle Steel's books, it was bound to happen that I wouldn't like one. I COULD have loved it (the story had great potential!) - if it weren't for the repetition. I'm serious - yes, she's one of the best wedding planners, she's a twin, she's never getting married, she doesn't want to have kids blah blah blah - Those statements are retold every other page. Its totally possible that this happens in her other books as well but the this story wasn't enough to save the book and maybe the others disguise the repetition?? A digital copy of The Wedding Planner was generously provided by NetGalley and Danielle Steel in exchange for my honest opinion.
Faith is a wedding planner who has not had good luck with her track record getting to the altar. She is, however, THE wedding planner in New York. When we meet her, she is in the middle of planning three weddings with three extremely different couples and wedding budgets. She then helps her assistant with her wedding as well as her mother getting ready for her third marriage. We also meet Hope, her twin sister, and Edward, who is the brother of one of the grooms that she is doing a wedding for. Faith guides them with a loving hand and does not leave them when the wedding is over.
A good Danielle Steel novel. Faith is a good person and she surrounds herself with good people.
Great story.
Faith Ferguson, 42, is New York's most sought after, in-demand wedding planner. If a wedding is being thrown by her, everyone knows it will be beautiful and one of a kind. Faith is happy being single, throwing herself in her work and spending time with her twin sister, Hope, and her family. As much as she loves planning weddings, she doesn't want to get married. Two bad engagements proved that she made the right decision.
Right after the holidays people rush to book Faith in January to start planning their weddings. She meets with three different clients and books three completely different weddings.
Annabelle's parents want a lavish wedding, where money is no object and the guest list is important. The bride just wants a small affair. When Faith offers ideas that appeal to the young woman, she sees an ally in Faith.
When meeting with Dr. Doug and his beautiful surgical nurse, Phoebe, Faith sees the controlling man for who he really is. This is his wedding, the bride's wants and opinions don't matter. Faith goes dress shopping with them to help the meek woman get a wedding dress that she'll love. But once Doug saw her in the dress, he flipped out and refused to pay for it. The dress was beautiful and complimented her figure. As payback, he picked out a hideous dress, one that covered her from her neck to her toes with long sleeves and boning that was uncomfortable to move in. Faith warns Phoebe that his control issues will only get worse if she marries him; Phoebe doesn't heed her advice.
And finally, Alex and Morgan, a gay couple who are finally getting married after being together for 10 years. They are having a classy intimate party, thrown in a friend's home. They are also in the process of having a baby via surrogacy.
But life has its own surprises, and not everything goes as planned. Annabelle didn't know she was 4 months pregnant. Faith figured it out at a dress fitting appointment when her gown was too tight. Annabelle's father got caught cheating on her Mother. Doug threw Phoebe out in the middle of the night because of his insane jealousy; but he purposely doesn't cancel the wedding with Faith. Phoebe, who's now jobless and homeless, has been waiting by the phone hoping to hear from him for weeks. Alex and Morgan are offered a baby to adopt immediately before their own child is even born. Morgan's brother, Edward, moves to New York and meets Faith.
Each wedding is a success and is beautiful.
Faith has her own things going on, her mother is getting married for the fourth time, her sister is pregnant again, and her assistant, Violet, who just got married is now pregnant with twins. But meeting Edward has been the most amazing thing that has happened to Faith; she has finally found her partner in life.
A must read!
If you are interested in reading a lot of details about a lot of weddings, you will enjoy this book. It included details about the individuals getting married.
As I was reading I felt like I was standing outside the door watching the action, not a part of it. I was being told a story, but not involved in it, not really there. I did appreciate that there was little to no foul language and steamy details happened behind the closed doors.
Don't worry if you get interrupted while you are reading, DS repeats sentences several times throughout the book. I have another DS book on TBR list, I am hoping the next one draws me.
Always a wedding planner, never a bride. Despite being the best wedding planner in NYC, Faith can't seem to make it to the altar herself after multiple failed engagements. Faith finds contentment in her relationships and her job. But as we all know, weddings bring the drama and so does this novel.
Faith Ferguson is a wedding planner in New York City. She plans weddings with couples but never for herself.
Does she ever find love?
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC and to the publisher Delacorte Press.
Faith seems to be general factotum extraordinaire in addition to wedding planning.
The lives of her clients become complicated and sheets pulled in whether she wants to be involved.
Babies also pop up at a measured clip as well.
Steel provides an entertaining tale that may make walking down the aisle mire than it’s cracked up to be.
Enjoy the feeling and emotions this book gave of helping others. The characters were delightful and a quick read that kept your interest.
The Wedding Planner is literally about that. It´s about Faith Ferguson. She is one of New York’s most sought after wedding planners. But it´s about so much more. It´s about her journey to find love and her own happily ever after. Because she has been "left at the alter", and burned one to many times, so we follower her on her journey. And it´s a beautiful, but messy one.
II could not put this book down. I found the characters to be realistic and relatable. I enjoyed reading about the weddings, all the drama surroundings weddings, and the role planners play in it all.
I really enjoyed this book. Characters and story line were great. I have read all of her books thus far and she gets better with each book. Loved it
As a fan of Danielle Steel's books, this one was not up there to earn 5 stars. It was repetitive in many areas of the book and just dragged on. The plot of the book being about a Wedding planner who lives in NYC sparked my interest but I could have done without a lot of the other details in the story.
Faith is a wedding planner in NYC and the best at that. You will follow along with Faith and her twin sister Hope through out as Faith plans the most gorgeous weddings.
Thank you to Random House-Ballantine, Danielle Steel and NetGalley for giving me this free copy for a review in return. I am leaving this review on a volunteer basis.

What an enjoyable read by Danielle Steel. It was fun to watch the characters evolve, and grow more likeable. I loved how clients became friends, and true love was found.
If money were not object for a "dream" wedding, this wedding planner is who you go to. Faith gives her clients their ultimate dreams, while supporting the brides in all ways. She see "disaster" ahead for one bride due to Faith's own experience. From 2 bridegrooms who suddenly become dads, through the challenge of a pregnant bride, Faith discovers her own happiness. This novel you will read again and agin for the shear joy it will bring you.
Another beauty by Danielle Steel! Probably not my favorite of hers, but definitely a solid read. Formulaic and a bit predictable but an enjoyable, easy summer read.
Typical DS novel about successful, wealthy, beautiful people. This is a guilty pleasure for those who enjoy DS books. The first 100 pages basically focused on how successful the MC is. She's the best wedding planner and uses the best suppliers in the world. She plans million dollar weddings. She is only 30 years old.
There are a lot of characters and relationships to keep track of. At one point, I realized I had no idea who was speaking in the dialogue. Then I realized one of the couples were 2 gay men. Maybe I missed this earlier, maybe it didn't matter, but I lost track of who was who.
Parts of the story were juicy like a soap opera. Other parts felt disjointed. The story switched to the gay couple adopting a child. This felt like it could have been a separate book or at least Part 2 (or 3) of this novel. The change of perspective was awkward and unexpected.
I like that the MC stuck to her original decision about marriage. She didn't cave to peer/family pressure.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
If you’ve ever wanted a big lavish wedding then this is the dream book for you! So many descriptions I felt like I was reading an issue of Bride magazine with a heartfelt story thrown in for good measure! Many thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this copy for review
I felt like this was very redundant, I did have to push myself to finish. In the end, it was ok, but not one of her best books.
Faith Ferguson is a much in- demand wedding planner in New York. After two failed engagements she has no desire to marry herself but to create happily ever after for her clients. She is content with her job, spending time with her sister and family and friends. She is facing challenges with her present clients as all three are facing obstacles to their happily ever after.
Thanks to Danielle Steel and Random House-Ballantine
Faith is a New York City wedding planner who makes her client’s dreams come true. Like most women in DS books, she is perfect. The book follows her as she plans several weddings and becomes involved in the lives of those she works with. During all of this, she reiterates her desire to never marry even though she helps others for their special day. I enjoyed the book even though, as many have noted, there is a lot of repetition. Did I need to know everyday that Faith did her 6:00 am ballet practice via Zoom. Did I need a constant reminder that Faith’s twin sister Hope used to be a model. No. The book had a happy ending and none of the big person tragedies that seem so common in DS books lately.
