This was not exactly what I was expecting. I was hoping for a book about what its like to live with an invisible disability and this was that but it was focuser mainly on the medical aspect.
I am sort of odd as to everyday people I look perfectly healthy so in that sense I do have an invisible disability. I am unique though because my condition is very visible to any and all health care providers. Doctors could see I was sick before I was ever born so I've never struggled with Doctors believing me.
That being said I am very aware that this is something that is very real for other people. This book deals very heavily with that aspect of the Healthcare system. Though since I am not experienced with that I can not speak to the accuracy of that.
This is definitely an important book for those with invisible disability or those who have a loved one with invisible disabilities. This is very well may help you better understand your loved one or yourself. It will help you feel seen and maybe just a little bit more seen.
