Damian Everett, the Earl of Scarsdale, sees only one answer to his family's need to get out of debt, marry for money. Lady Persephone Camden is one of the wealthiest heiresses, but also the most unpleasant and vindictive, and the bane of Miss Violet Edward's existence. Painfully shy with a stutter, she is already unsuccessful after three seasons. To get away from her mother and help finding a husband, she applies at Mrs. Harding's School For Young Ladies. To be accepted, Violet must be successful in accomplishing certain challenges. Damian is offered money in Mrs Harding's plan to help Violet with her stutter and to overcome her shyness, but it's more than money that draws him to Violet. Violet sees him as the husband she wants, but can never have. Mrs.Harding is very clever in how she challenges Violet to overcome her fears and manipulating the one man that is perfect for Violet.
A lot of steam with descriptive sex and a perfect trope.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Violet and Damian = one of my favorite tropes, the wallflower and the rake. Violet must marry before she's sent to the country to live with her grandmother, but her shyness and stutter repel men of the ton. Enter Damian, Earl of Scarsdale, who is hired to teach Violet confidence. He himself must marry an heiress despite his attraction to Violet,

Their love story is engaging, witty and lovely. Willingham has created a romantic new series that starts off splendidly with A Match Made in Heaven.

3,5/4 Stars ⭐️

What a great little read! This was my first Michelle Willingham romance and I enjoyed it very much. I started and finished this regency romance in one sitting. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. TBR and Enjoy!

This is Violet and Damien's love story.
Violet is what the ton considers a wallflower but her status is even worse due to a terrible stutter that she can't control. Her mother feels she is an embarrassment and want to send her away to take care of a ailing grandmother who feels she can beat the stutter out of her! So Violet runs away to the notorious School for Spinsters to get away and find herself worth.
Damien is a man of honor who finds himself in a bad position of having to be the responsible one and get his father out of the debts he keep increasing. Basically feeling like he's trapped and has to be the father to his family especially his own parents. His father makes the demand that he marry a spoiled and mean heiress to save the family. In trying to clear his father's debts he meets Cedric, who offers him money to come help the student at the school, who turns out to be Violet.
Through twists and turns, up and downs, they truly get to know each other because they believe that neither could ever possibly have the other.
I will not give away the story, but I absolutely loved this book and can't wait for the next one! This is not your typical kind of school and it really surprised me! I couldn't put this book down.

A resilient wallflower and a distressed rake.

Violet is desperate to change her circumstances, she is a painfully shy wallflower and has a debilitating stutter that gets worse when she is in public or nervous situations. She seeks the help of Mrs. Harding at Mrs. Harding’s School for Young Ladies… Or the school for spinsters as the gossip goes. But she knows this is her last chance to find a husband and make a life for herself outside of her mother dictating how she will live. Damian Scarsdale is torn between his duty to his family to recoup the losses his father’s gambling has generated and what his heart wants. He comes to Violet’s aid for the money, something you don’t see every day in society London, but he needs the money and is willing to ‘help’ the wallflower if it will help his family.

Michelle Willingham and historical romance with a strong female lead go together like PB&J. I was so excited to read another one of her stories! I love how smoothly her stories flow and the natural way the hero and heroine gravitate toward one another. She has a way of capturing you from the beginning and after that last page wanting more and more. I want to see Damian and Violet vanquish their threats and have a long, loving life together. Surprises around every corner, the villain in the form of a debutante you will love to hate, and a few twists and turns with unexpected offenders make A Match Made in London a quick and interesting read. The attraction and heat between Violet and Damian are palpable and explode off the page. I hope to see more of them, Mrs. Harding, Cedric Gregor, and the matchmaking at the MH School for Young Ladies. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley, and this is my honest review.

It has been a while since I've read a book by this author, but she has certainly not lost her touch! Apart from the beautiful cover, I thoroughly enjoyed this entertaining romance. Painfully shy and awkward, Violet resolves to take her life into her own hands by escaping her home and her overbearing mother to enroll at the School for Spinsters, where she goes through a series of difficult tests, learning to stand up for herself and resolves to become the woman she always dreamed she could be. Her first encounter with the Earl of Scarsdale does not go well and when she discovers that the headmistress of the school has coerced him to work together with the school to bring about Violet's transformation, she is less than pleased. Over the weeks, both Damian and Violet discover that there are hidden depths in each other and that despite the fact that Violet is in no position to bail his family out of the trouble they are in, she is in fact his perfect match. The novel is a standalone and comes to a surprising conclusion, bringing the parties together in a satisfactory manner. I received a copy of this romance as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

This is a story about a Wallflower named Violet who goes to Mrs Harding’s school for spinster. We see how Violet gains confidence in herself and is able to transform into a different woman.

Will their love last?

This story was well written and enjoyable and I see lots of potential for the future in this idea of a school for spinster's/wallflower's that I look forward to like Lady Ashleigh who wasn't as bad as she first seemed and had an underlying story we need to see. However I was frustrated with the ending it felt a bit rushed with things unresolved. I wanted to know about Persephone's response to Damian and Violet's wedding and also to see her and her father get their comeuppance in some way even if justice isn't possible. Having said that I can't wait to read what comes next. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

She is shy and he is ohhh so handsome. Perhaps they could help each other. Or Perhaps not. She is trying to get some self respect and learning how to stand up to people. He desperately needs an wealthy chit to marry and she is not wealthy just kind, adorable, caring, and everything some one could absolutely fall in love with.
There was one point in the book where I had to go back and make sure I didn't miss anything. But I did not. I just kept reading and eventually it was explained.
I am really loving this new series. It has wonderful potential. I cant wait to see who they help next.
I recieved a free copy so that I might tell you what I honestly think. Hope you enjoyed my review. Now go enjoy the book.

A tale about overcoming insecurities brought about by ridicule and guilt. It starts with the courage to seek assistance to overcome fears. She did it for herself, and she inspires him to do it as well. And in the process, found each other. A wonderful story about triumph over bullies and cheats with a completely satisfying ending.

I received an ARC from Netgalley and leaving my review voluntarily.

Violet is very shy and has a stutter. Her mother decides to send her to the country to live with her grandmother, who said she could beat the stutter out of her. She leaves home and goes to The School for Spinsters to learn how to attract a husband. Damian, an Earl, is trying to restore his family's fortunes that his father gambled away. The school offers to pay Damian how to teach Violet how to be comfortable around men and in social situations.
Damian was planning on marrying an heiress to help restore his family's fortunes.
The storyline is interesting and there are a few surprises throughout the book. It was all in all a very enjoyable, entertaining read.
I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley and these are my opinions.

I finished this book in one sitting and it was worth staying up so late. An unexpected heroine, Violet has a stammer and a mother who demeans her at every turn. She is the proverbial wallflower and fears nobody will want to marry her. Poor thing! However Violet takes fate into her own hands and decides to enrol in Mrs Hardinges' 'school for spinsters'.. This is the first of a new series by Michelle Willingham and I can't wait for the rest. Her methods are unusual but effective and we meet our hero, Damien, a rake who must marry an heiress to repair his family fortunes. Throw in a couple of acid tongued heiresses and we have all the ingredients for a robust romance. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Violet bloom and her true character show through. There are some steamy scenes in here for the faint of heart, be warned. But it is one of the best books I've read. Many thanks to Netgalley and Dragon blade Publishing for a copy of A Match made in London.

I simply love a wallflower + rake situation. And also this cover.

Violet is painfully shy and mercilessly ridiculed by the ton for her stutter. When her mother decides to send her to the country to take care of her ailing grandmother (who has strong belief in the power of daily beatings to "cure" her stutter), she decides that her last chance to find a husband is to enroll in the infamous School for Spinsters.

Damian is a notorious rake; he's also an Earl who is trying to marry the wealthiest heiress he can find to try to save his family from the crippling debt that his father's gambling habits have left them in. To make some quick money, he has been hired by the headmistress of the School for Spinsters to try to teach Violet how to interact with men. But what if they... fall in love????

This was really sweet. The character growth for both Violet and Damian was really satisfying. Specifically seeing Violet find her confidence, and the way that inspired Damian to try to be better was just very lovely. Listen, the steamy scenes were also A+ for me.

I have two gripes with this, the first is that the villains really do not face any consequences whatsoever. This is ultimately okay, but I can think of very few fictional characters I hate more than Persephone, and really would have loved for something truly terrible to happen to her. The second gripe is that the ending, overall, was a bit clunky. The transition between everything that happens between Damian/Persephone/the Duke straight to Damian showing up in Bedfordshire gave me whiplash, and I honestly didn't fully trust him. It felt a bit like there was a scene missing between those two events.

This is an extremely fun and swoony historical romance, and it's also about to be released on KindleUnlimited, so easy to access if you're already a KU subscriber.

Shy Violet stutters and knows that no one will ever want to marry her. She goes to The School for Spinsters to have them try and make her over. Attracted to Damian, she is shocked he is willing to help her to gain her confidence. Damian is attracted to Violet but must marry an heiress. Can they overcome their obstacles to find a way to be together? I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for my honest review.

I absolutely loved this charming and captivating regency romance, I couldn't put it down. So well written and a great cast I was drawn in from the start what a great writer. This was my first book by Ms. Willingham and it definitely won't be my last. I look forward to reading more books by her.

This was the first Michelle Willingham novel I have read and she is definitely on my list of authors to keep an eye out for. I loved this book from page 1 right through to the end. Violet is such a great leading lady. You may like her initially because you feel sorry for her but you stay invested in her story because she is a fighter worth learning more about. The basic premise of the series is well established, as is the role Mrs. Harding and Cedric will play. I wouldn't mind having a Cedric in my life to play matchmaker - he is clearly quiet gifted. It was so great to see Violet's transformation as she underwent her "lessons" and got closer to Damian. And I loved that he saw her for the amazing person she was and was able to be a little selfish by finally putting himself and his needs ahead of getting the money needed to restore his family's financial security. I felt for him when he realized that his parents had no problem putting his happiness aside in favor of them and his sisters. Luckily Violet quickly proves that she will be by his side through the good and the bad. The only thing I would have liked from this was just one more chapter (or an epilogue) because there just seemed to be so much left unresolved. First and foremost, was Persephone and her father. I'm really hoping they get their comeuppance in a future story. I would love to see their reaction not only to Damian's marriage to Violet but also to others knowing the truth about the Duke's actions. I also hope Ashleigh gets her own story in a later story - there's definitely more to her than we got to see in this book. I can't wait to see what this author has in store for us in the rest of this series!

Violet is a wallflower and fears that she is doomed to remain so, thanks to her shyness and stuttering. Society belles are quite cruel to her and her own mother is planning to send her off to become a companion to her grandmother who promises to beat her stutter out of her. In desperation, she goes to live with Mrs. Harding who gives her some lessons meant to increase her confidence. Damian, the Earl of Scarsdale, is part of the scheme. He is financially troubled and planning to marry a heiress to save his family's fortunes. This story was charming, the lessons were interesting, and there are some surprises in the end. It was my first book by this author and stood alone, although there are hints as to who may get their own books later.
Steam level: Some sexual content.
