With everyone on Bookstagram diving into dino smut lately, I had to see what I was missing. I was warned that this book spared no detail, and was in fact encouraged to record my facial expressions while listening.

Honestly, while I applaud Ms. Faust's creativity, I probably wouldn't recommend this book if you're trying to take the story seriously. I read it for laughs and was thoroughly entertained, but you don't read this kind of book for the plot--that is to say, there isn't really a plot. The storyline was rushed and jumped ahead to fit in more dino sex, which is what we're all here for anyways.

The steamy scenes aren't for the faint of heart. I'm not sure how people come up with this stuff, but it was definitely unique!

The audiobook was surprisingly well-produced.

Well. This was something all right. I don’t even know what to say but I’m giving this 3 stars because it had me cackling so loud at some points and anything that makes me laugh like that deserves something. I listened to the audiobook version and had to speed it to 1.75x because the narrator spoke so slowly but overall this was a fairly entertaining book to listen to while I was cleaning out my closet. That arm scene was something else 😂

I loved the narrator. If you are looking for a book where a human falls for a dinosaur (with lots of sex) this book might be for you.

So I got halfway through this audiobook. I saw Bailey from Tiktok mention this book and when I saw it on here I was curious. I can’t really get behind the whole dinosaur/ people. And this story is pretty much just smut. I don’t feel like it’s fair to rate it, because if it was my thing, it would be fine. But I can safely say I won’t be reading anything similar.

Okay, so this one is definitely different, but is it good? Yes. Is it spicy? Yes. Will you probably be a little grossed out, because there is a woman making love to a Dinosaur?? Possibly, but it this well written as hell and would I read anything by this author from here out?? YES.

This story was soo good and yea I did cringe at some moments, because blood becomes a topic of discussion. However I will go to bat that this story deserves at least three stars for writing. It was definitely a fun read!

Narrated by Katrina Medina ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Story by Lola Faust ⭐⭐⭐

I'm going to be completely honest. This is not my normal genre but I was very intrigued by the cover and title. At first I was like hell no I'm not going to listen to that... Then I found myself continuing to think about it. Even called my bestie and was like "did you know this was a thing"
Clearly I got the book.

The narrator was fantastic! I absolutely want to hear more from Katrina Medina.

As for the story it was equal parts hilarious and disgusting (I'm talking about that period bit)

Lola Faust is a talented writer. Would I read another book by her? Absolutely.

So, this is a book I read…
I really can’t say that this was good, but it was definitely entertaining.
I laughed out loud several times, and made lots of highlights. Basically, this book is pretty much exactly what you would expect.
While this isn’t the type of book that I would usually read, it was a lot of fun, as it was quite clear that the author was having a lot of fun with it. I may never look at corn, oil derricks, or barbecues the same ever again…😅
I also appreciate Faust’s accuracy about drug stores in Alberta. 😂

ARC audiobook provided in exchange for an honest review.

Warning- it’s as bad as it sounds. Certain parts made me cringe while others I had to close my eyes and go to my happy place. At least there was a storyline, not just straight Dino porn. This may be some peoples cup of tea, but it definitely isn’t mine!

Dear past me: just because the cover is cool and it’s “listen now” doesn’t mean it’s a good idea to read it. Wow I wish I could scrub that from my memory. Eating your dying arm : grand gesture lol

I'm not going to lie I got this book as a joke cause I thought it would be fun to make fun of it but I actually really enjoyed it. The author clearly knows exactly what this book is and doesn't take it to seriously and that made this a really fun read. Sure I was laughing a lot but it was because I was just having a really good time. The spicy scenes were actually pretty good and the drama was fun. I would actually love to read this as a full length novel. I am eager to see what else this author has.

Well, this might be the strangest thing I’ve ever read. I’ve seen so many people talking about monster erotica that I felt like I had to read this book for fear of missing out. The plot was interesting, but left me cringing multiple times. The plot felt thrown together at times. It seemed like things happened only for shock value and not to propel the plot. The randomness of the arm and the cheating. Two things I didn’t enjoy and didn’t seem necessary.

The narration was good, but I wish Big Al had been voiced by a man. I didn’t feel like the voice matched the description of him.

Overall, this was weird and engaging. Now I can say I’ve read some dinosaur erotica and move on with my life.

I found Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer by Lola Faust to be an entertaining and steamy read with a unique twist on the typical romance novel. The forbidden love between a human and a dinosaur added a level of excitement and danger to the story. However, the writing style could have been more polished and the plot was at times predictable. Overall, it was an enjoyable read for those looking for a fun and unconventional romance.

I was curious... and after reading this I don't really know what to say. It gave me the ick; but I didn't completely hate it, or did I?
