I love Sue Watson's writing. Each chapter ends in a way that leaves you in suspense. The Wedding Day is an excellent thriller. I loved the beautiful description of the setting and all the delicious food in this book. Alice is naive, there's no question, but not overly so, and you still cheer for her. Thanks for the advance review copy.
I really enjoy reading Sue Watson books, I like her style of writing and how she draws you into the story, it's a case of never just one more chapter.
This book isn't one of my favourites by her though I found Alice really naive and gullible she was too trusting of everyone around her and was taken in very easily by everyone. That said the storyline was very interesting.
I loved the setting, I've holidayed in Corfu and it was very reminiscent of my time spent there.
This book would be a perfect beach read whilst drinking cosmopolitans like Alice and Sylvie
3.5 rounded up to 4 because of setting
Sue Watson doesn’t disappoint! This had me on the edge of my seat and I’m currently adding her other books to my cart! Highly recommend for fans of thrillers.
Many thanks to #NetGalley and #Bookouture for an #ARC of #TheWeddingDay.
A good gripping book, however there were moments where it dragged and I found it slightly too long. However the twists and turns made it a worth while read.
A twisty thriller that takes place on the Greek island of Corfu. Alice decides to start over after leaving behind her troubles in London, including a possible legal altercation, and happily ends up in Greece. While there she meets a group of women who are seemingly living charmed lives as wedding planners. Of course, things are never as they seem in person.
Overall a solid thriller. I flew through this book, guessing some parts of the plot twists, but others were a big surprise to me! A great pace for people who love fast-moving thrillers.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC , all reviews and opinions are my own.
This book is about Alice a woman who is down on her luck. After an altercation with her ex she flees the country, and the police. She ends up entangled with mysterious happenings on a Greek island. This book was enjoyable, but I found it a little slow in pacing at some points. At about 50% through I kind of knew how it would wrap up. overall I enjoyed it and would recommend.
Lots of twists and turns. Lots of red herrings and an ending you won’t believe. Definitely a book to be read in one sitting. If you like Agatha Christie then this is right up your street

The Wedding Day by Sue Watson
Book releases May 17th
Alice fled to Greece and meets the handsome vineyard owner Nik and quickly fall in love but what do they really know about each other?
Well there goes 11 nights of reading I can’t get back 🙄 I should have stopped reading it early on but had hopes that it would get better but sadly it got worse. The premise of the book sounded good but the writing was all over the place, conversations and time didn’t flow properly, Alice was stupidly naive….no one is that dumb. 🤯 The author had the recipe for a good book but then she kept adding more unnecessary ingredients to it and made a mess. 👩🍳
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC in return for my honest feedback
I've enjoyed a few of Sue Watsons books now and I think this is my favorite. If you like unreliable narrators and red herrings galore don't miss this unputdownable thriller. 4.5 stars. Thank You NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC of this.
The Wedding Day by Sue Watson was as usual an excellent psychological thriller story.
I thought The Wedding Day was absolutely captivating, and the narrative moved at an incredibly fast pace.
Her character development was fantastic and were well written.
The plot was so clever, and really well thought out.
And the story was engaging, full of tension, fast paced, and so much fun.
Sue Watson always keeps me so entertained and hooked.
And her latest book will keep you guessing and hooked until the very end.

The Wedding Day pulled me in right from the start making me question everything. Alice leaves her home in the. UK after an unfortunate encounter with her ex husband. She soon meets and falls for a Greek vineyard owner. They are soon married and things get even stranger. I definitely rate this one 5 stars.
This was so good!! I read this inbone sitting because I had to know what happened and who did what and all the secrets. So good.

Oh my goodness, this was an amazing roller coaster of a read! Alice runs away to Corfu to escape a possible assault charge on her ex husband. Here she meets the enthralling and ultra-friendly Sylvie and sexy and very rich Nic. Her new life on Corfu is fun, her new friend are welcoming and she starts to forget her troubles back at home. But is she safe? Gorgeous setting, well-constructed characters and that last chapter had me!
Alice has been through a messy divorce and is having difficulty coming to terms with losing her husband. She partly blames her inability to have a child for the breakup so, when she bangs into her ex with his new girlfriend who is heavily pregnant, she loses the plot and suffers a blackout. Before she knows it, she finds herself under investigation for assault and flees to Corfu, apparently to escape the consequences. But there is more to Alice's choice of refuge and her real reason for being there creates a major twist in the p[ot. Whilst in Corfu, Alice makes friends with the glamorous Sylvie and starts a relationship with Nik, a local winemaker. Their relationship is overshadowed by the sinister Dimitrius, who lives at the vineyard and is suspected of having something to do with the mysterious unsolved disappearances of several middle-aged women from the island. But nothing is as it seems... I found this a compelling read although I did correctly identify the culprits before their identities were revealed and some of the twists in the plot towards the end were not entirely believable. I also found it hard to believe in the central character's naivety.
Sue Watson has such a hold on me with her thrillers. I have read a handful of them and like her writing and pacing. This thriller was a quick, fast paced title and it flew by. I was hooked from the beginning and surprised at the twists.
This has strong 'Girl on the Train' vibes. A great thriller with a captivating mystery. Some good twists too. It does, however, need a couple rounds of editing. I was pulled out of the story way too many times by obvious and annoying editing mistakes.
Love Sue Watson’s books and this didn’t disappoint.
Alice needs to get away after a meeting with her ex husband and his new partner in a shop one evening leaves him in hospital and her facing an assault charge.
She leaves and heads to Corfu for some much needed rest and fun and while there meets her new best friend Sylvie and a new husband Nik as well. While in Corfu, Alice starts to look into missing persons cases that have been occurring over the last few years and between that and the police in the U.K trying to track her down life is far from peaceful. Can she sort things out to enjoy what should be an idyllic new life in corfu or is she in danger from what she thinks is a serial killer or of being locked up for a crime she doesn’t remember committing.
Thanks to netgalley for the copy.
What a refreshing and thrilling read! So many twists especially in the final chapter that left me completely gob smacked. Yet again, another great book by this author.
This was not my favorite Sue Watson. I was trying to figure out throughout the entire book what my problem was, and I think it was the fact that I hated every single character. I also disliked how there were so many references to the future events at the end of so many chapters. It felt like it was almost being jammed down my throat that things were going to take a turn for the worst. I am not sure if the intention was to make it a big surprise that everyone was in on the scheme together or not, but I thought it was unfortunately very obvious all along. Also, the sister made me want to DNF the book, but I didn’t because my anxiety won’t let me not finish a book. I thought she was very hard to tolerate. This one got 3 stars for me instead of 2 simply because I did not see the twist of the daughter!
