This book really hit home, but Katherine Turner has told the story beautifully, addressed lots of issues that most people in an abusive relationship fear. Really enjoyed this book, the story was very good and kept me engaged, thank you

Madly Deeply Wildly by Katherine Turner is an escape into a love story thats emotional and hard but also so good. There's so much heartache and courage in this story. I feel for Renata and want to wrap her in a big hug. I thought the characters were well developed. Thank you Netgalley for my copy!

This book has more depth than one would expect from the cover, and it was such a pleasant surprise to find that out!
Our MCs have very distinct, but in some ways, comparable backstories filled with loss, grief, and in her case, abuse. Madly Deeply Wildly does NOT skimp on the real feelings, physical and emotional, caused by abuse, and as someone who works with abuse victims, it was very raw and filled with so much truth.
I appreciated that our MMC was strong, but not an alphahole, and let Renata piece herself back together without feeling like he needed to hold the pieces himself.

This book tackles some big topics, with domestic violence being a main plot point. It was good to see a tasteful look at the issue, and give hope that those going through it can get the help they need.
The MMC isn't insufferable, and is actually supportive which is refreshing.
The story felt a little cliche, which was a bit off-putting with such a serious topic.
Overall it was a hopeful story, but missed the mark for me

I honestly wanted to love this book
I appreciated the tone it was written in and how it addresses such sensitive subjects, some that are close to home but sadly I could not gel with the characters.
Personally I found it a little wooden, and not my preferred style of writing but that’s my opinion.
I feel that my mum would enjoy the book and the writing style more than myself, Thankyou for sharing this though!

I really enjoyed the plot and story, and felt that the topic was addressed appropriately. The characters were well developed and and strong.
However, I just didn’t connect with the writing style as I felt it lacked some depth. I would still read more from this author and I still enjoyed this book, it just wasn’t my favorite.

This was a cute yet intense romance that also delves into DV. The writing was very engaging and I fell in love with Renata and Chad and the side characters were great in their own right. I enjoyed the story but it is definitely not for everyone so I am not sure how I would recommend this book except to say that readers need to make sure they read and understand the content warning.
Although this is a story of getting back on your feet and the importance of having a great support network, it’s was also about believing in yourself again and going after your dreams after traumatic experiences. I loved that Renanta was able to write again and loved the mentions of how names can sometimes define us. Chad was a great book boyfriend and I could understand how he would have wanted to be overprotective of Renata and I was surprisingly okay with the third act breakup even though I thought it wasn’t needed, but this is a HeA book so it was okay. I loved the hope this books gives survivors of DV. I really enjoyed reading it.

Is calling a baker a cinnamon roll hero too on the nose? Maybe Chad is a marshmallow hero.
He's sweet, protective, and patient, plus he can cook and bake. What's not to love about that?
Renata is a complex woman. She escaped from an abusive relationship and the severity of it has yet to fully hit her. She's a writer who can't write and decides to go to a conference to get her groove back. I wish there had been more scenes from the conference.
She makes a found family when she applies for a job at a cafe with zero experience.
I loved reading about how she grew and flourished with her new friendships with her work colleagues.
Her relationship with Chad is sweet and funny and so easy to read.
Her strength and confidence grow after she chooses herself and it's beautiful.
Anyone who has been abused will find something they can relate to in this book.
It touched my heart in ways I didn't expect and I really enjoyed it.
I received a copy via NetGalley and all opinions are my own.

A book that shows us a woman growing up, overcoming what life has thrown at her.
First, I also like names and Renata is quite unusual. I especially enjoyed the way she grew throughout the book and her personality developed and refined. She was a woman who suffered at the hands of a man, but she had the courage to change the course of her life. As for Chad, he's one of those book boyfriends we all want, despite his overprotectiveness, he's special.
Another aspect that I really liked was the friendships in this book, in which everyone has an important and meaningful role.
In general, it was an easy book to read, with a lot of interesting details, from the songs to the meanings of the names, without excessive descriptions and with an excellent development.

I want to thank Katherine Turner, Josha Publishing and NetGalley for this ARC read!!
3.5 stars rounded to 4 stars!
We follow along with Renata who has lost both of her parents and ends up in an abusive relationship with a man named Damien who cuts her off with everyone until he was all she had. She realizes she deserves better and needs to get out of this engagement with Damien so she moves back to her hometown where she ends up working at a café and there's this really cute baker who can't take his eyes off of her...
Will Damien find her? Can she escape him for a second time? Will Chad and Renata fall in love or will it all end up in heartbreak?
I suggest picking up this book and finding out for yourself because it was an emotional but enjoyable read, the plot kept me hooked and I shed some tears! It's nice to see character growth and powerful woman who won't take no shit!

Review: I generally really enjoy books that are revolve around some type of trauma ( no matter how bad that sounds) it keeps me hooked as to how they are going to over come it and I think this book did a really good job at it. It did have some low moments that made me want to put it down but once you push through them them all the characters keep you invested.
It would have been a lot higher if they didn’t have the 3rd act breakup they could have absolutely gone with out it and I hate them with every book.
This was a good read and worth checking out.
Make sure to check the trigger warning in a book like this I normally don’t but other might need to.

This was a really good book. I fell in love with the characters, one by one, as they were introduced. This was indeed an emotional read for me, but I enjoyed every page and every moment spent with the characters. This story will break you, healed you, tear you apart, and put you back together in all the best ways. Most importantly it left me with hope. Hope that there are still good patient loving men out there after experiencing relationship abuse. And Hope is sometimes all we have left to hold onto. I highly recommend this book!
Thank you NetGalley and Josha Publishing for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.

Madly Deeply Wildly - Katherine Turner
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
This book follows Renata who has left her abusive ex Damien and is trying to figure out life without him. While working in a cafe she meets Chad who she is instantly attracted to.
This isn’t a typical book that I would gravitate to. I originally thought it would be much more romance based where as it was much more focused on dealing with her healing process.
I did love how Renata developed and healed throughout this book. Char was just the sweetest and cared so much for her. Even so the romance aspect fell a little flat for me. I really liked each character and how they grew through the book.
There was also some pacing issues, that combined with the 3rd act break up didn’t make this a favourite.
Even with these issues I think the story is beautiful. Please check trigger warnings before reading as there is some heavy content

This was a powerful story of surviving and healing trauma, more precisely domestic abuse. It is such a hard subject and it can be hard to shy away from saying the real things and showing the real reactions a survivor could have but the author represented that reality really well. The supporting characters were key players to the story as they helped Renata with her healing and to move the story along. Chad was also a highlight for me. He went above and beyond learning about Renata's past and trauma and how to support her. I felt like Renata's trauma and healing journey was depicted accurately and it was easy to feel empathic towards her. For me the pace of the story and the writing style is where I had a harder time with. The story kind of felt like a journal of the FMC's day to day healing journey. The pace a too slow for me and the day to day journey made it hard to keep my full interest. This book will definitely make you feel all the emotions and really hits you in the feel. This really hits close to home for anyone who ever lived any kind of domestic abuse.

Unfortunately, the more I read this book, the lower my rating became. It had the bare bones of something that could have been a great book, but it fell victim to its cheesiness and repetitiveness.
I thought that the general outline of the book was done well. It followed Renata's journey post an abusive relationship and discovering herself. I enjoyed all the side characters, and I greatly appreciated the part where Renata worked on herself independently without a man. I overall enjoyed Chad and his humor, and I liked how he was a baker. Unfortunately, that's where my enjoyment ended.
For most of the rest of the book, the cheesiness factor was at an all-time high. Sometimes when people are too accommodating and understanding and loving it just comes off as unrealistic in a book. When a book feels unrealistic, it's hard as a reader to really immerse yourself in the experience. In addition, I desperately wish I had counted the number of times a character cried OR the number of times Renata or Chad's eyes were described. It bordered on ridiculous the number of times the dilation of Chad's pupils and color was used to describe his feelings. It just led to me rolling my eyes and skimming ahead.
I really wanted to love this book but it just wasn't it the cards for me.

If you liked It Ends With Us, you will love this one!
Renata recently leaves an abusive relationship and moves back to the town that she loves. She is determined to get her career of writing back. This tells the story of overcoming trauma in the past. Not only surviving it, but learning to love your self again. I loved seeing Renata grow from the woman she was into the strong warrior that she always has been.
I love the found family trope especially after dealing with something so traumatic. Caroline was the friend that every girl wants in their life. A friend to remind us of our strength, courage, and love.
Seeing Renata get her second chance at love was heart warming. Chad was a great MMC that I thoroughly enjoyed reading about!
Check trigger warnings, as this does have heavy topics in the book.

I received this as an ARC from NetGally and it was honestly amazing! The understanding of each of the characters and the life lesson’s that take place in this story was so good! For the romance aspect it wasn’t super spicy but you definitely see the chemistry of the characters grow.
I definitely recommend checking trigger warnings though for this book as there is a lot of serious topics.

Wow. That’s it, that’s the review.
I will almost automatically rate a book 5 ⭐️ if it brings tears to my eyes. This book did it almost every time I picked it up. Renata has done it, she’s escaped her fiancé Damien, and is making a new life for herself.
Katherine Turner does such an amazing job of depicting grief, fear, starting a new life, and growth. The way she incorporates journal entries that are Renata’s raw and unfiltered thoughts brings such a phenomenal level of intimacy. You see first hand Renata’s growth and her ability to open up and trust again.
Chad, Fern, and Caroline are an amazing support system. They are patient and empathetic. They listen, and let her do what she thinks needs to be done in order to heal.
I can’t stop obsessing over this book, please read it. While we will never truly know what domestic and sexual abuse is like unless we experience it, Katherine turner does a phenomenal job of sharing that POV.
