This is a cute story about a nice family and the there children who explore the different aspects of fall in their homemade knit red sweaters.

It's a quick read. The mice children compare almost everything to their red sweaters.

Rating: 3 out of 5. It was good but I did not think it was anything special.

Wonderful illustrations using fall colors and a cute little story about squirrels and things they find outside during the fall season. I voluntarily reviewed an advance readers copy of this book.

This is a wonderful addition to the series by this author highlighting the seasons of the year. Nothing much happens, but the illustrations are as always gorgeous, with a fall palette that has me longing for summer to be over. The kids I read this with enjoyed the gentle story of the three squirrels and the red sweaters lovingly knit by their mum, and we discovered new little details with every read.

I loved the softly muted color palette as the story went along. The sunset picture was particularly beautiful and effective with its use of fall colors. The story seemed a bit sparse but this cute book could definitely be used to help show younger children what to look for as signs of changing seasons. Putting the cute little squirrel trio in red sweaters helps focus on the colors and how red becomes a dominant color as autumn begins, too.

Siblings Micky, Mack, and Molly are quick to note changes, always bringing it back to their new red sweaters lovingly made by their mama. By noting their observations, children can learn what to look for, whether the change in leaf or berry colors of simply the behavior of other animals. As an Alaskan where we have lots of bears, I particularly liked the short but effective injection of the fact that bears do need to eat, eat, eat in preparation for sleeping over winter.

Thanks to #NetGalley and #NorthSouthBooksInc for giving me some sweet moments of smiles as I tagged along with these adorable little squirrels as summer began to turn into fall.

Mick, Mack, and Molly are back!

The weather's getting cool, but luckily Mama's just finished three warm, wooly red sweaters for this trio of happy go lucky squirrels. As they venture outdoors in their new finery, they spot all sorts of matching red objects while they take in the changing autumnal scenery.

This book is a lovely addition to this gentle series that pays tribute to the changing seasons.

A healthy four stars for this charming little piece, part of a set showing the same family of squirrels throughout all seasons. Here they get given freshly-knitted jumpers, in matching bright red – and what's more, when they go into the outside world they see it really is the colour of the season. The mushrooms are red, the green berries have turned red, the leaves are becoming so too – even the fiery glow of the setting sun is a bright red. Oh, and the birds – well, they don't care for such things, they'll just naff off to somewhere warmer. But the forest is a lovely and cosy place for these squirrels, and if the book doesn't give off a cosy and warm feel then there's something wrong. Always lovely to look at, lively and fun yet gentle to read, all this series in my experience is just delightful.

The one, that has me excited for fall.

Hooray for Fall! By Kazuo Iwamura✨

About:
A warm welcome to autumn! This beloved book—redesigned with a fresh new look—is the latest edition in this popular series about seasons!

Mama has a surprise for her three little squirrels: three bright red sweaters to keep them warm throughout the fall. Imagine the siblings’ surprise when they find that everything in the autumn woods—the leaves, the berries, even the setting sun—is red too, just like their sweaters.

I liked the visual flow. Sometimes i felt the writing was placed on a too dark background making it hard to read.

The theme was playfully told through connecting the color red. The little squirrels observing the change not only on themselves but on their fellow forest creatures and plants really emphasized the the childlike approach to understanding this season. It gives an invitation to mindfully observe the change of the season and look out for this wonderful palette of colors fall gifts us💙 not only for children, grown ups can use a pause and look around just as well!

Thank you Netgalley for a free digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The illustrations from this book had me falling in love with it from the beginning, aesthetically this book is already so cozy and warm and eminating fall from the getgo. Come along with the squirrel family as they prepare for winter. They are filling their house with delicious nuts, knitting some cozy attire and snuggling into their home before winter begins. The little squirrels spend time showing their animal friends their newly knitted sweaters and the reader is taught where various animals reside during the winter months. They learn that their bird friends migrate, and that their bear friends hibernate. They match the colours of their sweaters with the fall colours surrounding them. Then they head home to prepare for winter themselves.
The book is fun, cozy, and engaging for kids to read. It leaves the children with many things to talk about and is a great introduction to what different animals and plants do to prepare for the colder months in a year.

I am in love with this book and I didn't realize it is a series too. I can't wait to read all of Mick, Mack and Molly's adventures. The illustrations are classic and picture frame worthy. I will never look at my backyard squirrels again without imagining them in sweaters. A story that should be handed down through generations.

It has wonderful illustrations.

A wonderful book for any readers with a sunny disposition. I love it, albeit the shortness of the novel.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for granting me an E-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NorthSouth Books and NetGalley for giving me an ARC of Hooray for Fall! by Kazuo Iwamura.

The book is a very sweet story about what happens during the fall season. It is part of a series that follows a squirrel family, and what the three children notice is characteristic of each season.

The story is unfortunately a bit dry. Most of it is centered around the children noticing changes in color and having short conversations with a few other animals.
Those are however informative and educate children about some of the things that happens in nature during this time of year.

However the very best thing about this book, is the illustrations. They are stunning and only in fall colors.

Even if you don’t have children, or you have but they aren’t interested in learning about fall, buy this book for the illustrations.

This was very cute. The illustrations were adorable and the colours were so amazing. Having the colour comparisons between their sweaters and the nature was a great way to learn about fall. The little squirrel family is adorable and I refuse to believe they are not real. Brb while I go read all of the other books in this series. I am more than sure that any little will love this book as much as I do.

I had already been acquainted with the author’s style through the Spring edition. And the cuteness overload is back! If you love all things autumn, warm and cozy, then you’ll enjoy this adorable illustrated book boasting gorgeous fall-inspired visuals.

A cute little book about three siblings going around the woods on an adventure in new sweaters. Cute book for fall.

This was quite cute. Especially if you’re an autumn lover. The squirrel family is super adorable - kind of reminds me of the whimsy of Arrietty. The family goes around the forest wearing their red sweaters and notice all of the things in a forest that turn red during autumn. It’s quite charming and it introduced me to this illustrator, Kazuo Iwamura. Definitely a nice seasonal read.

Very cute story. Beautiful illustrations. The book had a wonderful concept of how fall was beginning to show based on the squirrel’s red sweaters. It would definitely be a fun concept to talk about with a young child while reading the story together, I have not read any other books in this series, but would be interested in doing so. Very enjoyable.

Three little squirrels, Mick, Mack and Molly have spent the morning gathering nuts for the coming winter. But while they were busy Momma was busy as well. She has a surprise for them. She worked hard that night to finish her surprise because winter was coming. She knitted them bright red sweaters for winter. They loved their new sweaters. They hurried outside to show off their new sweaters to their friends. They began to notice that there were things around them that matched their red sweaters. They noticed mushrooms and berries and leaves all the same red color. They found a bear eating lots of persimmons. He was getting ready for winter too. A great way to discover the colors of fall.

Wonderful to have these illustrations in a picture book to celebrate Autumn with such strong warm tones, and that there are other projects, one for each season. The story is simple but meaningful. A tribute to color and illustration.
