Shari Low has got another surefire hit on her hands with her addictive new novel, One Moment in Time.
After three decades of marriage, Brenda Jones has come to the conclusion that it’s time to call it quits. Her marriage to her husband is over and she intends to leave him after they return from the mystery trip their daughter Zara is taking them on. Only, what Brenda hadn’t realised was that Zara is taken them all to Vegas for a vow-renewal ceremony! Brenda cannot believe that her daughter has scuppered her plans to walk out on her marriage, but there is worse to come when Zara tells her that in her efforts to recreate their wedding ceremony from three decades ago in minute detail, she has also reached out to the two friends who had been pictured in their wedding photo all those years ago…
Aiden Gregg has got his own relationship dramas to contend with. The last thing he wants to hear mentioned is weddings, but when a stranger reaches out to him on Facebook asking if the people in a wedding photo are his parents and whether he could bring them to Vegas to take part in a vow renewal ceremony for a surprise reunion, Aiden finds himself in a terrible quandary. Should he just ignore the message and pretend he had never received it? Or could saying yes end up turning his entire world upside down?
What Zara and Aiden don’t know is that one moment in time changed everything all those years ago. Will rewinding the clock right old wrongs and enable everyone to move on with their lives? Or will this reunion be a nightmare of epic proportions for everyone involved?

Little does she know that her daughter, Zara, has orchestrated a surprise trip to Las Vegas to renew their vows. As Zara works tirelessly to recreate her parents' original wedding, she embarks on a quest to track down two long-lost friends who were present at the event three decades ago.
Enter Aiden Gregg, who unexpectedly receives a message from Zara asking if his parents are the missing couple from the old photo. As Zara and Aiden delve into the past, they uncover secrets and revelations that have the power to reshape their lives forever. What follows is a rollercoaster of emotions as the characters confront the ghosts of their past and grapple with the possibility of rewriting history.
Low's storytelling prowess shines in "One Moment in Time," as she expertly navigates between past and present, seamlessly blending timelines to create a narrative that is both suspenseful and heart-warming. As the characters confront the mistakes of their past, they are forced to reckon with the consequences of their actions and find the courage to forgive both themselves and others. In doing so, they discover that true healing can only come from embracing the past and moving forward with hope and compassion.
Shari Low has once again proven herself to be a gifted storyteller, and this novel is sure to leave a lasting impression on readers long after they've turned the final page.
Brilliant book, definitely one I would recommend.
Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.
As always, shari writes a fantastic story. I have read every single Shari low book and I’ve never been disappointed. Will recommend to all I know.
I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.
Another brilliant book from Shari Low.
I loved this story and about how this exciting surprise trip becomes life changing for all the characters in ways they couldn’t imagine. All set in a back drop of vegas with flashbacks to their previous trip. Highly recommend
This book, I couldnt put it down. It was such an emotional read and I was here for it. I had a huge connection to the characters( I think it might be something to do with my age) . It was relatable , and actually funny at times.
Brenda Jones is contemplating leaving her husband after three decades of marriage, unaware that her daughters, Zara and Millie, have planned a surprise vow renewal trip to Las Vegas. The girls quest to recreate her parents' wedding leads her to track down the people who were the witnesses for the marriage. However, things don't go to plan.
The story beautifully weaves together past and present, with a mysterious event from thirty years ago at its core. As the characters grapple with their own relationship issues, secrets, and unexpected connections, readers are taken on an emotional journey filled with twists and turns
An enjoyable read by an author I have previously read. Zara and Millie plan an anniversary surprise for their parents...and in doing so, open a real can of worms. Nothing is as it seems and their parents are no exception. The surprise leads to all sorts of confessions not least when the girls track down two friends who were at the original ceremony!
I’ve really enjoyed reading this book. It’s beautifully written and nicely paced . I liked the plot, that Zara and Millie wanted to recreate their parents wedding in Vegas for their anniversary. I liked the multiple POV’s even if it sometimes got a little confusing for me. There was plenty of funny moments and enough serious parts to balance it out. For me though the best part was Shari showing us that you don’t suddenly become unattractive and dead from the waist down when you hit 40. I felt a lot of empathy for Brenda, being stuck in an unhappy marriage, it was very realistically written. A lot of books deal with younger characters and it was refreshing to read a book where the main character is over 40.
This is the kind of novel that feels like a comfortable evening at home: warm, familiar, and easy-going. The storyline, while intriguing in its premise, unfortunately doesn't carry the gripping impact that one might expect, especially given the tumultuous turn of events surrounding a mystery from three decades ago.
The setup of Brenda Jones' desire to leave her husband after thirty years, only to be caught off-guard by her daughter's plans to fly them to Las Vegas to renew their vows, was indeed promising. The narrative unfolds with Low's characteristic warmth and wit, making for a relaxing read that comfortably passes the time. The nostalgia of revisiting the past and the subsequent revelations were both touching and amusing in places.
However, as the story progresses, it doesn't manage to rise to remarkable heights. While Low undoubtedly has a way with words, and the writing is fluid, the plot occasionally dips into predictable territories, making it hard for the narrative to truly stand out amidst a sea of contemporary fiction.
Nevertheless, for those seeking an uncomplicated read that offers solace and simplicity, "One Moment in Time" might just hit the right spot. It's like a comforting cup of tea on a rainy day - satisfying in the moment, but perhaps not a brew you'll remember for years to come.
Any regular visitor to my blog will know I’m a huge fan of this author (use the search feature to find earlier reviews).
This is the ninth book I’ve had the pleasure of reading and it’s another resounding hit for me!
Full of Shari Low’s trademarks: bounce off the page, larger than life characters, alongside a perfect balance of nostalgia, romance, heartache and humour, you’ll find yourself racing through this read to find out what’s going to happen next.
I especially loved the way the plot was driven to slowly reveal the past events throughout the present day in the return trip to Vegas and the perceptiveness of the portrayal of lost romance and the subsequent breakdown of relationships as a consequence.
The contrast between the personalities of the central characters is also intriguing, especially when you analyse how this may have indirectly impacted on Millie, Zara and Aiden.
The best elements of any Shari Low offering though, are always the writing style and effortless humour which has you chuckling out loud to yourself and One Moment in Time is no exception, with Brenda’s inner thoughts on the trip over to Vegas a particular highlight!
Whether this is your first foray into reading something from this author or if you’re an established fan, you certainly won’t be disappointed!
With thanks to the author, Rachel at Random Resources and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to participate in the tour.

A thoughtful and interesting read. The characters always stand out on Shari's books. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me review this book.
I adored Shari Low's book, 'One Day With You', so I couldn't wait for this one!
I loved the premise, how daughter Zara tries to recreate her parents' wedding in Las Vegas in celebration of their 30 year wedding anniversary.
But little did we know the fall out that would occur from it.
This was a light, enjoyable read that kept me reading constantly. There seemed to be a lot of characters that at times I mixed up in my mind, but the plot and drama were just as much fun to read as One Day With You.
Shari Low is fast becoming one of my favourite authors. This is my second novel by her and like the first one I was hooked, the characters are so well written and the story just flows seamlessly. How will the surprise vacation turn out? Does that moment in Vegas get revealed?
