One Moment in Time is another smash hit from Shari Low!!!

30 years of marriage is something to celebrate. Thus, Zara’s decision to surprise her parents with an all expense paid vacation to Las Vegas (where they tied the knot) was intended to be a gift of a lifetime. But when secrets begin to emerge, Zara discovers her good intentions might be the very thing that ends their marriage.

An unexpected read documenting the surprise trip of a lifetime sisters Zoe and Millie have planned for their parents 30th wedding anniversary. Despite meticulous planning the trip throws up an abundance of surprises.

Thank to netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Zara is planning a surprise trip to Las Vegas for the parents to renew their wedding vows, little does she know her mother is planning on leaving her father as soon as they return from the mystery trip. Zara has contacted her mom and dads friends from back in 1993 via their son Aiden through Facebook. Aiden arranges his parents to take a trip to Las Vegas without telling them the full reason why. Thirty years ago something happened between the two couples that they don’t want to be reminded of. Will the planned surprise help to right the wrongs of the past or will it backfire on both Zara and Aide.

Zara and Millie plan a memorable 30th-anniversary surprise for their parents in Las Vegas. The journey is filled with surprises, and even though I anticipated the outcome, I enjoyed Shari's storytelling. The characters, especially Millie, were delightful and unapologetically themselves. The bond between Zara and Millie was heartwarming, and it was satisfying to see new relationships form and old ones mend. The epilogue tied everything together beautifully. This story made me smile, laugh, and cry, evoking a range of emotions. Shari Low is a talented storyteller, and I highly recommend this book to family and friends.

Really enjoyed Shari Low's ONE MOMENT IN TIME. It's kind of a "Four Weddings and a Funeral" kind of rompy rom-com that makes you take a look at your own relationships today, in the past and where you might want them to go in the future. The Cast of characters is fun and there are quite a few surprise reveals.

I've only discovered Shari Low in the last couple of years, and I've quickly become a fan. One Moment in Time is a little slow to get going and feels a little rushed at the end but overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable book with some interesting twists and turns that you didn't see coming. Touching with a touch of humor sprinkled in throughout the book. I really enjoyed the relationship between the 50-something year old main characters and the young adult characters. Zaras sense of humor combined with her sense of responsibility. Millies near complete lack of responsibility, never apologizing for her behavior, while still being endearing. The way their late gran plays a sweet role. Lovely women's fiction that will leave you was wanting to read more by this author

A book about relationships , between partners and friends. Relationships which are just starting, , relationships that have run their course for different reasons. Some of the book folliows an expected path though there are also unexpected events and decisions.
A good beach read, enough romance and interest, but you don't have to concentrate too much
Thanks to Net Galley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review

Zara and Millie find a photograph detailing the marriage of their parents at an Elvis chapel in Las Vegas 30 years ago. In an attempt to commemorate their 30th anniversary, they are planning to fly their parents from Scotland to Vegas to recreate this memorable occasion. They work on tracking down the other couple in the photograph. Not only is the trip a surprise to Brenda and Colin, as they are expected to renew their vows, but the appearance of Gary and Eileen, the “friends” is also an added surprise. Hilarity ensues when secrets from 30 years ago come to light, and not all of it is positive. There was suspense, intrigue, and hilarity. It was a heartfelt novel, with twists and turns. After reading this book, I am excited to read more by Shari Low. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance review copy in exchange for my honest review.

In a Nutshell: Contains some surprises and some shocks, exactly as promised. Good for fans of women’s fiction as this is mostly an entertainer.

Story Synopsis:
Colin and Brenda got married almost thirty years ago in a chapel in Las Vegas. To celebrate their upcoming thirtieth wedding anniversary, their daughters Zara and Millie decide to give them a surprise by flying them from Glasgow to Las Vegas to renew their vows. The girls are also trying to locate the two strangers standing next to their parents in their wedding photo, hoping for a reunion of old friends.
What the girls don’t know is that Brenda is secretly nursing regrets and planning to leave Colin soon. And they also don’t know that the two pairs of people in the photo might not necessarily be the best of friends.
Playing a role in this complicate plan is Aiden Gregg, whom Zara tracked through Facebook to check if he knows the identity of the strangers in the wedding photo. As the strangers turn out to be his parents, he has to help Zara complete her plan by bringing them to Las Vegas in time for the reunion and the renewal of the vows.
As you can expect, the well-intentioned surprise soon turns into a shocker.
The story comes to us in the third person perspectives of Zara, Aiden, and their moms Brenda and Eileen.

Bookish Yays:
✔ The premise promises an entertaining read, and entertainment is what we get. There are many humorous scenes, balanced with some heartfelt relationship struggles. There’s love and lust and anger and pride and confusion – almost all the emotions that make this genre what it is.
✔ The author’s choice of narrators was excellent. While there is a multitude of interesting characters in this book, the four voices she chose offer a balance of reason, emotion and confusion throughout the story. I am not saying that I liked all the four narrators, but I found them interesting character studies.
✔ The remaining characters, whether appealing or irritating, are also written well. Of these, Millie was my favourite – I loved her unapologetic behaviour. But more importantly, I loved how her character growth wasn’t modified to make her fit into a conventional role by the end. Her essence stays the same throughout. The bond between siblings Zara and Millie is just awesome, though they are so contrary to each other.
✔ It was a nice experience to see fifty-plus characters driving the story along with their young ones. I enjoyed the distinct portrayal of the four parents, each so different in personality.
✔ The book takes its time to get rolling, with the initial one-third or so functioning more as a backstory than as the main plot. But once the main story sets off in Las Vegas, the ride is mostly quick and smooth. My patience was tested but also rewarded.
✔ Loads of love, no steam. Plus point for me; possible minus for some other readers.
✔ I liked *most* of the ending – it was realistic rather than contrived, and grew from the natural progression of the story and the characters. Not everyone gets a traditional HEA, and not everyone necessarily “matures”.

Bookish Nays:
❌ There are quite a few relationships dissolving and forming in the course of the plot. Most of these can be guessed well in advance, with one major exception. And this unexpected relationship was not at all convincing to me. It felt forced and rushed, not to mention very awkward. I couldn’t digest the fact that the characters involved accepted it so easily.
❌ The final quarter feels very rushed; too much happening too quickly.
❌ There’s much focus on the physical attributes and appearance of the characters.
⚠ Minor complaint: Can we please not have fictional besties sharing the same initials? Things get confusing! I was grateful that Bernadette didn’t have a longer role to play in Brenda’s arc.

Overall, if you are a women’s fiction lover, then this book will offer you exactly what you expect from this genre – surprises and shocks, sweet moments and sad events, old heartaches and new bonds. While most of it goes as expected, the grounded ending elevates the experience. It will work well when you want a feel-good read mixing up light and heavy topics.
This was my first Shari Low book, and I can see why she has so many fans. I would love to explore more of her works.

3.75 stars.

Brenda and Colin are a few weeks away from celebrating 30 years of marriage. Their two daughters, Millie and Zara decide to surprise their parents with a trip to the place that started it all, Las Vegas.
The girls find a photo with their parents and another couple in front of a wedding chapel.
It's been 30 years since they've set foot in Vegas and the last place they would ever go back to.
As a surprise the girls track down the other couple and the truth about that day is revealed. Old wounds are opened up, truths exposed and are finally given the opportunity to heal.

I could never have quessed the twists and turns of the story! Shari Low did a wonderful job spinning an amazing tale of growth, forgiveness and learning to let go.

An entertaining and surprising read. A couple got married in Vegas in 1993. Now their daughters are taking them back to renew their vows as a surprise. The surprise is going to be on them. A whole lot happened during that '93 trip and it stayed there. Now the little group of travelers is going to have to deal with the secrets that got left behind. Now my review sounds a bit more menacing that it should. This really is a relatively light read with some fun unexpected outcomes. It would be a great book to toss into your suitcase for a vacation read. If you are going to Vegas anytime soon, then definitely take it along.

I love how Shari's stories cover all emotions. This book definitely did just that. I immediately loved all the brilliant characters, all unique, memorable and real. I was rushing to find out how this suprise holiday would unpack and meanwhile I loved the interactions between the characters, the relationships and the friendships. I really felt what the characters were feeling both the good and the bad and was touched by it all. I literally cracked up a few times! I love the humor in Shari's books. It's amazing how within seconds you can go from smiling and laughing to crying tears and vice versa when reading one of Shari's books.
All the characters telling the story, Zara and Aiden and their mothers Brenda and Eileen were wonderful each in their own way and Millie was definitely in a league of her own. Where Brenda felt her life was all beige, Millie's life was definitely all colors of the rainbow!
I wanted this book to go on forever and at the same time I could not finish it fast enough.

I’m a huge fan of Shari Low and I jumped at the chance to review One Moment in Time when I was offered a spot on the tour.

I loved the premise of this book and once I started reading it had me hooked. The different POV’s gave a great insight to what was going on. I loved Zara and Millie they were about as different as night and day though.

There were plenty of laugh out loud moments, sad moments and some romance. I love the way Shari always effortlessly put all these elements into all her books. As always I feel like I’ve been on a rollercoaster of emotions while reading.

If you are a fan of Shari Low already then I’m sure this one is on your radar but if you haven’t yet read one of her books then I highly recommend them. I have loved every single one I’ve read.

Thank you to Rachel’s Random Resources and the publisher for having me on the tour and for my gifted ebook.

Brenda and Colin are a few weeks away from celebrating 30 years of marriage. As a surprise, their daugbters Zara and Millie schedule a vacation to Las Vegas, their original wedding destination. Going off one photo from that day, they also invite their parents ex friends Scott and Brenda. Unfortunately, Brenda is starting to feel very discontent in her marriage and a vowel renewal is the last thing she'd choose for herself. Add in the two friends purposely hasnt spoken to since that fateful day. What ensues is an emotionally fraught few days in Vegas.

Shari Low has done it again! While the premise seems like it could veer into predictable territory very quickly, Lows' unparalleled ability to write three dimensional characters and everyday scenes is one of many reasons she is high on my list of Read Everything They Write! This is just another example of her expertise and I loved every page!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/ 5

This was my first book by this author, and it certainly won’t be my last one!
I really enjoyed her writing style and loved how the story was revealed in an almost backwards manner, so clever and it really allowed me to become emotionally invested in all the characters.
It was brilliant to see the mothers view of her marriage at the start, and see the whole thing snowball into a big moment further along the story. The flashbacks added another layer to the story and kept me on tender hooks constantly. The other characters also had their own mini stories running alongside the main one, and I was equally invested in those too! So much going on, but incredibly satisfying to follow and enjoy.
Absolutely loved it and will look out more from this author.
