One Liner: Uneven pacing but a feel-good read
Brenda Jones wants something more than routine and boring from her life. She decides to leave her three decades of marriage with Colin after the surprise anniversary celebrations planned by their daughters, Zara and Millie. However, she’s in for a shock when the girls fly them to Las Vegas to recreate how Brenda and Colin got married.
Aiden Gregg is having relationship issues of his own. But when Zara tracks him down on Facebook and messages him to ask if he can take his parents to the anniversary celebrations, he agrees to the surprise reunion plan and hopes something good might come out of it.
However, Zara and Aiden don’t know what happened that fateful day thirty years ago. How will their plan affect their parents and their lives?
The story comes in the third-person POV of Zara, Brenda, Eileen, and Aiden.
My Thoughts:
The premise gives enough hints about what could possibly go wrong with Zara’s plan. While I could guess some of it, the rest ends up as a nice surprise.
The characters are the strength of the book. Each of them is different and somehow comes together to create a wholesome package. Since this is women’s fiction, we don’t have outright villains but more like losers (especially one idiot).
The book also has some beautiful messages without being preachy. Yeah, it does get a little slow in the first half (to establish the setting and characters as well as to sustain the suspense). The themes of love, family, relationships, friendship, acceptance, self-love, etc., are well done.
My favorite scenes are the ones between Millie and Zara. They are two totally different people, but their sibling love (and playful rivalry) come across clearly. It’s not perfect, but they are family and important to each other.
We also have a couple of love tracks on fast-forward with mixed results. There just isn’t enough time or space for these to grow organically (since the premise takes up most of the limelight). Though I like that we have HEA, I’m not too happy with 4x-paced developments. A couple of more scenes for each couple would have made it better. The second half needed another 15 pages or so to establish and give each pair the space they deserve.
The book does balance serious issues with lighthearted banter and some chuckle-worthy scenes. It isn’t a heavy read, though it does feel like one at times.
To summarize, One Moment in Time is a feel-good book with some worthy themes and a sprinkling of love. The characters are pretty much consistent throughout and most are easy to like (and support).
Thank you, NetGalley and Marcela Torres from Boldwood Books, for the eARC. This review is voluntary and contains my honest opinion about the book.

I’m not sure if I’ve ever read a book with as many secrets revealed as this one! Zara, one of our main characters, has decided to recreate her parents wedding in Las Vegas for their 30th anniversary, not knowing that her mum has had enough of being married and wants out. She manages to get them there but once the surprise is revealed, all hell breaks loose. She’s tracked down the son of the couple in the photo and arranged for them to be there too, which turns into a disaster.
I really enjoyed this one, the story unfolds over multi POV chapters, and has cliffhanger after cliffhanger until everything spills out. You get hints of what is coming as the book progresses but I didn’t guess it all, there’s so much going on. The characters in the book are likeable, even Gary in his own way, but I wasn’t that keen on Millie though - seemed a bit of an unnecessary storyline to me.
A nice cosy read proving that not everyone likes surprises!

Zara & Millie want to give their parents, Brenda & Colin a memorable experience for their 30 year anniversary. They will fly them from Scotland to Las Vegas to renew their vows at the same Elvis chapel they were married in. As an added bonus they track down Aiden's parents, Gary & Eileen, the two other people in a photo from the Vegas trip, to add to the surprise. And what a surprise it turns out to be.
I liked the premise and how they wanted to do something special for their parents, but you know what happens when you assume. Even though I knew what was going to go down before it did I still enjoyed the journey Shari took me on. Each character was special in their own way. I thought Millie was such a hoot and I liked that she never apologized for being her true self. I don't have a sister myself, but if I did I would hope I'd have just as lovely of a bond as Zara and Millie had. It was nice to see new relationships formed and old ones repaired. I am very pleased with how everything played out in the epilogue.
Oh wow you have done it again, I wasnt sure you could write a book I would love more than One Day With You but I was so happy for to prove me wrong. This book stole my heart, the emotional roller-coaster had me laughing and crying. The family and friendshil dynamics were perfectly plotted bringing a beautiful story to life. If you love a book you get lost in and feel everything the characters go through this is perfect.
Wowieeee!!! This was an amazing ride. After reading One Day With You by Shari, I knew I needed more books by her. Thankyou to the publisher for sending me the widget.
Let's start with the review.
The prologue was so simple but for some reason I enjoyed it alot. I really liked the mysterious feel of it. However, I do have to admit it took me a while to really enjoy this book after the prologue.
The first few chapters deal with introducing our main characters and creating their backstories and explaining where their head is at in the present. So you can imagine it was very descriptive with alot of inner dialogue. This was why it took me a while to really get sucked into the book.
But once things started moving forward and our characters all assembled in Vegas, the real fun began. And boy oh boy was it fun. It was hilarious, heart warming and cringe worthy at times but I devoured it.
The story is obviously predictable but the writing style is so impressive that you're glued to your screens until you reach the end. Talking of the end, OMG I LOVVVVVEEEED IT.
Exactly the kind of HEA I needed right now.
I don't want to go into detail because I dont want to spoil the book but I highly recommend this. With Shari Low's books its really the writing that is magical, the story is predictable but it's told in such a captivating way that you can't help but binge read it even when you have important board exams to study for.
Before I finish my review I would like to sway your decision to read this book by saying Aiden and Zara are the CUTEST, LIKE I CAN'T EVEN. I knew from the moment Aiden got stood up at the altar that he would be Zara's significant other. The other characters are very real and relatable. I just wished I could keep reading about them. The last 20% is 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
So I highly recommend.
A lovely book with plenty of emotions running through it. Characters were well written and developed well. I recommend this good read and give it 5 stars.
Thanks to netgally and publisher for this ARC
At risk of repeating myself from all my other reviews of Shari Low’s books - I love love love these books and always race through them but never want them to end! This latest book was no different and it made me laugh out loud and also made me cry.
Zara and Millie Jones are two twenty-something girls who own a flower shop in Glasgow. As with many siblings they are as different as night and day but the one thing they have in common is that they love their parents. Brenda and Colin Jones have been married for almost 30 years after tying the knot in Las Vegas. The girls inherited money from their Gran and decide to surprise their parents by taking them to Las Vegas to renew their wedding vows.
By chance, Zara finds an old photograph of their time in Vegas and sets about trying to locate the other couple in it. In doing so, she stumbles upon Aiden Gregg an American who’s father is in the photograph and they plan a huge reunion in Vegas.
Meanwhile, Brenda is having itchy feet and is feeling dissatisfied with her life and her marriage. She is waiting until the time is right to sit her girls and her husband down and tell them how she feels. She knows it will need to be after the surprise trip the girls are throwing albeit she doesn’t know where they are going.
Is this trip going to be the surprise the girls are wanting to be or will it be a disaster from beginning to end?

Another fabulous book by Shari Low.
Follow the story of Brenda as she approaches her 30th wedding anniversary.
Her daughter's have arranged a surprise trip to where it all began.....but are things all they seem.
Welcome Aiden....a recently jilted groom....who happens to be the son of the best friends of Brenda back in their youth.
Will the big get-together be all that it's meant to be??!!!
A fun and relatable read. Highly recommended
Aw I loved this book! Shari Low has the knack of creating believable characters who we can really empathise with. This one was all about two families whose lives crash together after a well meaning attempt at a wedding anniversary get together in Vegas.. You just know things are going to get interesting when the families meet up, secrets are uncovered and there are quite a few funny, sad and totally cringeworthy moments!
Loved the way the story was wrapped up too and how the characters all followed their hearts.
This was really good fun to read and I loved it! The characters were well thought out and well written and the relationships between them all was great. I would definitely recommend this as a summer holiday read. I’ll definitely be reading it again!
What a wonderful fun read!!
A surprise wedding anniversary and equally surprising guests, throw 2 families into a very uncomfortable reunion 30 years later.
Sisters Millie and Zara are unbeknown to all of this after planning this special surprise for their parents, Colin and Brenda and inviting friends from the past, causing havoc, confusion and many questions. Follow along as the events 30 years ago are revealed.
A witty and fun read which I thoroughly enjoyed! A must read for all.
Thanks NetGalley for the ARC of One Moment in Time by Shari Low, published by Boldwood books.
I just loved this novel, what a great feel-good read, I loved the characters, they were well introduced and described. I really like the authors writing style and how the story flows. Amazing story with depth of characters and a wonderful ending.
The story is told by several of the characters, but it still reads well
I liked the plot, and how story is presented starting in 1993, then present day starting in April
Its a heartwarming story about relationships between parent and child, spouses and loved ones, and how unlikely relationships can develop.
I dont like to spoil the story but my favorite part is Aiden and Zara at 90%
Loved, loved ,loved the ending of this book, I don't want to give anything away but the last 10% was awesome and you couldn't wipe the smile from my face, I just love happy endings.
Amazing story and amazing author! I will be reading her next books!

When Zara Jones and her sister take their parents on a 30th wedding anniversary trip to Las Vegas, she has no idea what secrets are about to be revealed.
Aidan Gregg was recently jilted at the altar. When Zara asks him to get his divorced parents (Eileen and Gary) to Vegas to celebrate the vow renewal of their old friends, he's just as unprepared for the revelations that follow.
Told from the POVs of Aiden, Zara, and the two mothers' (Eileen and Brenda), this was like watching a car crash in slow-motion. It was SO awkward at times, but I couldn't look away! I don't want to spoil things, but even though I guessed most of what was coming, it was excruciating, emotional, and hilarious in equal measure. I enjoyed all four perspectives because they really heightened the suspense, and I loved the way the relationships developed (no spoilers). If I had one wish, it'd be to have had Colin's perspective occasionally because he was a sweetheart, albeit a bit clueless at times. That said, I truly loved both Zara and Aiden, and the chapters between Brenda and Eileen were some of my favourites. I also loved Trevon's addition (IYKYK), and there's some fun Easter eggs from other books, as well as an adorable ending.
This was another gorgeous, emotional, but also hilarious read from Shari Low.

Zara plans an emotional trip down memory lane on her parents' wedding anniversary. She even found the two friends captured in a photo taken in 1993. What follows is passionate, humourous and surprising for all concerned. A lovely family drama full of laughter, love and heartache with the chance for new beginnings and coming to terms with new situations. It's a heartwarming and entertaining read full of emotion, drama and laughter. I like the complex characters, the family dynamic and the setting.
This is such a beautiful tale surrounding family drama - there aren’t enough books about family and this is what I love about Shari Low’s stories. My favourite character was Millie so it was a bit of a shame that she wasn’t a main character as I did find her a lot more interesting than Zara (sorry Zara). I enjoyed the lovely uplifting ending. This one wasn’t necessarily my favourite of Shari’s books, but I know it will be for others!
Shari Low writes the kinds of novels that her readers adore. She creates characters in whose lives the reader is interested. The stories have just the right amount of drama to keep people turning the pages.
In this title, readers meet Brenda. She is contemplating leaving her marriage but can’t until after something that daughters, Zara and her sister, have arranged. Will the marriage continue? What will happen in Las Vegas? What other people will become part of the story? How will things work out?
Sit down with some time to leisurely enjoy this good read. Shari Low does it again.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this title. All opinions are my own.
This is my second book by Shari Low. She is now becoming my go to author for books with all the feels. Her characters come to life so easily with each their own distinct personalities that you feel like they are old friends. When two daughters have such good intentions to plan their parents 30th anniversary, what could go wrong? Well, secrets will come to light, things will get a little messy, a bit crazy, and sparks will fly. I don’t want to give too much away, because I believe each person should experience a book without spoilers. Enjoy this. You will laugh, sniffle a bit, and your heart will be happy. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this amazing novel.

Zara and her sister, decide to take their parents to Vegas, so that they can replicate a photo that they found of their parents wedding day. They also want to find their parents friends who were witnesses/friends. The surprise didn’t go to him plan. Brenda feels she wants to leave her husband. So the trip to vegas Comes as a huge surprise! I really felt for the sisters x
I’m going to be honest, when I first stated reading this book. They next thing, I couldn’t put it down!!
My Review: I really love Shari Low’s books, this is another awesome addition to the collection. We slip from 1993 to 2023 and Las Vegas. Brenda’s daughters Zara and Millie want to gift her and their father a 30th anniversary to remember, will it all go to plan? Will they find the people they want to invite? It’s very funny and had me giggling out loud in places. Brenda, Zara and Aiden (whose parents dont have the most endearing situation) have their perspectives presented in true Shari Low style. I enjoyed the dynamics and enjoyed the adventure. Brenda’s friend and her situation tie in perfectly. A fully recommended read to new and regular Shari Low readers.
