Unfortunately I pretty much didn't like any of the characters and I especially hated Jane's kids. The story itself was a typical missing child crime mystery, which is why I am giving the book three stars.
A solid thriller from Miranda Rijks that kept me guessing for quite a while. Jane is late to pick up her friend’s daughter, Florrie, from school, but Florrie has already been collected. It quickly becomes apparent that no-one knows where Florrie is - or do they? A gripping read.
Jane is asked as a last minute favour to pick up her friends four year old daughter Florrie from school. But to her horror she has already being collected by someone called Jane!!
This is a book that will have you gripped from the beginning, there are lots happening with twists and secrets galore.
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.
I did enjoy this story & was intrigued to keep reading so I could find out what was going to happen next.
I loved this book! I found I was gripped from the very first page and there were some twists I didn’t expect. I will say that towards the end things felt a little rushed, a little too convenient and it wasn’t as satisfying an ending as I had expected at all. But overall, I really enjoyable read.
When Florrie went missing Naomi blamed Jane as she was meant to be picking her up from school. But someone else knew Jane was picking her up and got in there first.
A revelation is revealed which could Rock Jane and Naomi's friendship even further.
A great read with good twists and fir once I didn't guess who did it
Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC.

I requested this book as i was drawn in by the cover and thought it looked interesting.
I love the mystery, suspense and betrayal that is in this story.
I could not believe the twists and turns and i was so shocked when they revealed the twists and i was gobsmacked.
Thanks again for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Literally a mom’s worst nightmare. Fast pace thriller. Some of the twists were predictable but still entertaining. The characters were not the easiest to like for me.
Thank you NetGalley for the Kindle copy in exchange for a honest review. Jane is asked to pick her friend’s daughter Florrie up from school for a dental appointment. She is caught up at work and arrives a few minutes late to find someone has already collected her. A tale of friendship, love and lies unfolds as the desperate hunt for Florrie begins. Will they find her safe and unharmed? Another amazing psychological thriller from Miranda Rijks.
Here's another four women I can tick off my "friends" list. Each is a hot mess in her own glorious right. Secrets abound and there's quite a few shenanigans that take place behind what appears to the world to be people who seemingly have it together. Just goes to prove that you never know what goes on behind someone else's door!!!
Full review to come on Goodreads and Amazon. Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for a review copy.
Thank you to NetGalley and Miranda Rijks who provided me an ARC of this book for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book. It was very fast paced and a quick read. It pulled me in quickly and made me want to keep reading. There were plenty of twists and turns that kept me guessing, as most of the characters in this book had a secret. I was surprised to find out who the kidnapper was and I enjoyed the reveal earlier in the book than I had anticipated. This is the first book I have read from this author, but I don’t expect it to be my last.
Four-year-old Florrie is missing. Who has taken her, and what do they want?
I have read most of Miranda's books and this one did not disappoint. It was a quick read but that didn't take from the storyline or her character development. I liked the reveal part way through as it allowed time to get more of the story versus a twist at the end with no time to explain.
Thanks to Netgalley and Miranda Rijks for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.
This was a quick read that touched on stranger abduction and doing a friend a favor. This story kept me interested from the first page to the last.
Jane Wildman is asked by her close friend, Nala, to pick up her four year old daughter, Florrie, from school. Jane agrees but arrives late to the school and when she gets there, she’s shocked to discover that someone claiming to be Jane Wildman has already collected Florrie. A police investigation quickly begins and everyone is looking for little Florrie. At the same time, Jane starts to receive letters on her agony aunt column that strangely mirror her life, and she begins to wonder if someone is watching her and if that same person took Florrie.
This was a fast paced thriller about a child abduction with lots of twists and turns. The characters all had secrets and everyone was a suspect. I was really invested in the story and wanted to find out who was responsible. I actually didn’t figure out what was going on and I was really shocked by who the kidnapper was and I thought it was very cleverly written. This was my first book by this author and it definitely won’t be the last! This was an excellent thriller that really shocked me.
Thank you so much to Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Jane is always willing to help her best friend Naomi . So picking up Naom's daughter for a dentist appointment should be easy. Except so begins Jane's nightmare which riocks everyone's relationshipsand causes long held secrets to be reveal.
The story is well paced. You learn enough about the characters at the right times. The nature of the story hooks you in from page 1. There are many twists and turns. Towards the end some become a little ott but they do not take anythung away from the story. Well written could have been a bit longer towards tge end when it was all coming together as it seemed to get there too quicjly for me.
Really happy to recommend this a good solid 4 stars
Miranda Rijks hits it out of the park again. The Other Mother was a gripping, fast-paced thriller that I devoured in one night. I couldn't put it down!
A quick read that follows the search for Florrie, a child who is picked up from school by a stranger posing as a friend.
The author set a good pace to give an indication of everything else that was happening in the midst of Florrie’s disappearance. A lot of kidnapping thrillers focus on the detail of the kidnapping itself, but the real focus on the book was the motivations and lives of the people around Florrie, whose actions inevitably impact Florrie.
This is not the first book I have read by Miranda Rijks and again, she did not disappoint!
A great bunch of characters - all different and most of them unlikable for different reasons! However, they are mostly quite relatable and you will be able to pick out people you know in real life that have similar characteristics.
Rijks writing also keeps me wanting to read on and this one was no different, I was through it in just a few short days as I didn't want to put it down. The plot was full of twists and turns and kept you guessing all the way through.
An exciting new thriller I would highly recommend!
The Other Mother takes us on quite the ride. At the start of the book, we find our main character being asked to do a favor for a friend - to pick up their child and take her to a dentist appointment - where the mother will meet them. But, Jane finds herself running behind and when she arrives at the school - the little girl, Florrie - is gone. Picked up by someone the school assumed was her. This leads Jane on a wild ride, questioning those you loves and adores and thinking she no longer knows as well as she thought. As she tries to break down the truth of the situation, realizations and outing of secrets make her wonder where the truth will lead her and just who is involved in this mystery. What follows is a twisty turny course of events that lead to the truth and just who little Florrie is and who has taken her.
