We get:
Fated mates
Dual POV
Found family
Suspense/Mysteries to Solve
Comedic relief
Heat! 🔥🔥🔥

Gosh this was a fun read. This is for you if you love a suspenseful paranormal romance that has fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously. I also will say the cover was a huge driving factor in me selecting this book to read 🔥🔥😅😅🥵🥵

I was a bit worried I might feel lost since this is book number 36 in the Argeneau Novel series. But I found that the world building was well woven throughout the story and it didn’t feel like I had to sit through pages of exposition nor was I so lost as to what was happening.

I loved the chemistry and heat between Sophie and Alasdair, and I absolutely loved the uncles and extended immortal family. I truly appreciated the uncles as comedic relief and loved how they were invested in plotting to make Sophie and Alasdair happen. I want Colle to find his mate next 🥺

Though this was the first Lynsay Sands book I can definitively say it will not be my last. I will go back to read more and this series. I do wish there was an epilogue or more to the end. The insta love at the end felt rushed, especially when the story stopped. It could have also felt that way because I just want more of Sophie and Alasdair.

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books for the ARC. My review is voluntarily provided and all thoughts/opinions are my own.

This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was fun, steamy, action-packed and I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by this author.

I've been reading this series since the beginning and out of the last five or six books, this has been my favorite. It felt like it had more humor in it than the last few books. Alasdair's uncles were a hoot and a good addition to the book, I do wish we'd gotten a little more of Alasdair's past as I don't feel like we really learned a lot about him. If you've enjoyed the Argeneau series in the past, I'd recommend this book.

Thank you Netgalley, Avon and Harper Voyager for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Bad Luck Vampire is a perfect example that showcases why Lynsay Sands is an auto buy author for me. Alasdair and Sophie's romance is at the top of the series for me. It has the angst, heat, humor and suspense I've come to expect from the author. She had me fooled with the who-done-it. There is nothing funnier than having your four ancient kilt wearing uncles "helping" Alasdair woo his lady. Not to mention their assistance in telling Sophie that Alasdair is an immortal. I am still laughing at their antics. I love seeing characters from past books make an appearance and as this is the 36th book in the series, Sands has a great cast to pull from. I highly suggest giving this a read if your looking for a new Vampire, oops I mean Immortal series to read. But be warned, you will be hooked and want to start at the beginning:)

I received an E-ARC from Avon/Harper Collins Publishers via NetGalley, and this is my honest review.

Sophie has decided love is not for her. And then she meets Alasdair. Alasdair isn't expecting to meet his life mate. At a wedding no less. Can he convince her to give him a chance?
Bad Luck Vampire is the latest in Lynsay Sands Argeneau series. I enjoyed getting to know Alasdair. I thoroughly enjoyed his Uncles and their "help" wooing his mate. Barbarians they may be but they had the best intentions. I loved seeing the love they had for Alasdair. I loved seeing them help him land his mate. Sophie isn't quite sure why she is moving so fast with Alasdair but I enjoyed seeing her pull Alasdair out of his head. I love that she makes him laugh. I love the she gets him to talk. I love seeing her accept him and he her.
I thoroughly enjoyed this addition to this series by Ms. Sands. I found myself laughing at the Uncles antics. Even as I loved seeing them care for and about Alasdair. I enjoyed seeing Alasdair and Sophie find acceptance even as danger stalked them. I can't wait to see the Uncles and the brother find their true mate.

Sophie ends up being harassed by a guy she meets and it looks like he wasn't going to take no for an answer. Tybo sees this and makes sure she is safe. Tybo likes her so he invites her to a family wedding where he finds out that she might be the lifemate of Alasdair. So Tybo makes himself scarce for most of the wedding so they can get to know each other a little better. But because he is supposed to be her date for the wedding he does make time to dance with her a few times and check on her so she doesn't think he's ignoring her. They part ways that night as friends since neither of them feel more.

Later Alasdair asks her out and right away he knows she's his lifemate but she has no idea that he's immortal like his family is. So he has to take thing slowly because she's human. They go out on a date and they both feel a spark of attraction for each other.

After they talk and get to know one another a little better, Alasdair finds out that Sophie has had a very rough life. She lost her parents when she was young and ended up being taken in my her best friends parents a while later. He also finds out that some of the other close people in her life ended up dying in accidents and she feels like she might be cursed.

Just as things seem to be going good for Alasdair and Sophie, weird things start to happen and Alasdair tries to keep the worst of it from her so he doesn't have to explain to her how he healed so quickly. But he also thinks it might just be an accident until his brother and uncles tell him different. When family secrets come to light and she finds out she has a stalker, Alasdair has no choice but to come clean in order to keep her safe while they try to figure out who is behind it all.

I loved Alasdair's uncles. They are hilarious and they mean well but sometimes go about things the wrong way. Alasdair and Sophie make such a sweet couple, I was really rooting for them. I have been reading this series since it began and these books just get better and better. I cannot recommend this series enough.

Disclosure: I was given a free e-ARC of this book via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I will never not love the latest, wild adventure that Lynsay Sands sends her immortals on, and Bad Luck Vampire is no exception. While I will always be a die hard Argeneau fan, the MacKenzie branch of immortals is starting to grow on me and I loved getting Alasdair's story as well as getting to know other members of his family a bit more.

Even after 35 previous books in this series, I still found the plot of Bad Luck Vampire to be unique to all the others. Of course, several elements do tend to get recycled from plot to plot, but Sands was able to incorporate the immortal lore into Alasdair's story in a different way than in previous books so even similar elements didn't feel like just a repeat from other Argeneau stories.

Alasdair and Sophie's story had equal parts fun and drama, and I absolutely loved seeing so many cameos from the Argeneau and Notte families early on in this book. The writing was typical Sands: easy to read and even easier to get lost in. This story did a wonderful job at acknowledging past books, while also telling Sophie and Alasdair's story and setting up future plots for several key characters from this book. As always, Lynsay Sands' Argeneau books are a delight to read, and I can't wait to see what comes next for all our favorite immortals.

I was lucky enough to receive this book from Netgally! Another great read from Lynsay Sands. The main vampire seems totally inept about romance everything goes wrong with the help of his four uncles! You get romance, humor and mystery and most importantly a happily ever after. Hopefully the uncles will get their own books. A must read.

I love this series!

Sophie has had trouble dating. Her foster sister sets her up with a seemingly nice guy who turns out to be a jerk. She is saved from certain harm by a man who invites her to a wedding, and there she meets a man she can’t stop thinking about. Alasdair isn’t ready to meet his life mate, especially if she is someone else’s date. But he knows he's met her when he sits next to Sophie at his cousin’s wedding.

I can’t get enough of the Argeneaus and their families. Bad Luck Vampire had some wonderful humor not only in how the main characters meet but also in the form of Alasdair’s uncles from Scotland. The mystery surrounding her curse had me guessing, and I was surprised by the outcome. I loved seeing so many of the Argeneau and Notte characters from other stories. Lynsay Sands has captivated me from the first page of the first book in this series and this delightful romp has continued my love of this immortal family. I received an arc from NetGalley, and this is my honest review.

Lynsay Sands shows me yet again why she is my Favorite author with her newest addition to the Argeneau Series. Talk about HOT. In this adventure Sophie has had a life full of tragedies and believes herself to be nothing but bad luck, especially when several loves die. Alasdair MacKenzie has lived a long time and dreams of finding his lifemate. Never did he expect to find her at a wedding, or the bad luck that came with her. He is determined to show her what a lifemate is all about and to protect her in the process.
I loved this newest story. It was HOT, sizzling with steam from the get go. Not to mention fun and unexpected the whole way through. Characters you will truly fall in love with. Romance to take your breath away. Sizzle that makes you never want the story to end. You won't be able to put this book down.
I received this as an ARC but I will be buying this one for my Sands collection for sure! You will love this adventure.

I love how Lynsey Sands can make a book come to life like no other. Alastair and Sophie’s chemistry is out of this world. I love how there is so much humor in this book. I laughed so hard, nothing better than a book that has all the feels love, humor, and the feeling of connecting with the characters. I did feel like the end was kind of rushed but other than that this book is perfect. It’s a light funny vampire story. Usually you don’t get funny and vampire in a good book. I loved it!

This was a pretty funny book. You can’t help but laugh at how funny the uncles from Scotland are. Everyone is there to celebrate another life mate marriage in the family. Alasdair is not thrilled to be there until he see a woman who catches his eye. Then he notices he isn’t able to read her mind that is when everything changes for him. Sophie is shocked by how many young gorgeous people are here at this lavish wedding. She never thought she would come as one persons date and really wish she could leave with another, but here she was. She is extremely attractive to Alasdair and can’t get over how strong these feelings are. Will they both be able to work things out and be together or will another tragedy strike her life? I was given an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a great stand-alone in a very long series. I do not recall reading any books in this series but this was awesome. It was a bit of a quick read and I loved the characters and how well they evolved. The storyline was cue fun and completely unexpected.
The cover and title didn’t really match the story for me.

Bad Luck Vampire
Argeneau Series - Book 36
By Lynsay Sands

Avon Books - October 2023

Vampire Romance

It hadn't taken Sophie Ferguson long to realize her blind date was a bust. Unfortunately, she didn't succeed in leaving him behind. He followed, became threatening, and luckily, two strangers came to her rescue. When one asked if he could call her sometime, she was more than happy to say yes.

Sophie had done the date with Tybo, then agreed to be his date at a wedding. However, he hadn't realized his position as best man would keep him apart from Sophie most of the time, but he had put her in the more than capable hands of his friends Marguerite and Julius Notte. What she hadn't considered was that there would be another man she would meet at the wedding who would push all thoughts of Tybo out of her mind.

Alasdair MacKenzie hadn't expected to find his life mate at a wedding, but there she was. It was just his bad luck that she was someone else's date. But it was only for the wedding, and as difficult as it was to stay away, he would. Until the next day. But his luck was obviously still against him when he learned his uncles were helping him. He didn't need their idea of "help", but when he was possibly poisoned, and then run down in a hit and run, Alasdair realized it might be more than just bad luck, and he would need all the help he could get to keep both him and Sophie safe.

He could handle wooing Sophie on his own, he didn’t need any matchmaking tips.

I enjoyed Bad Luck Vampire from beginning to end. It was a surprise at the beginning to see Tybo meet Sophie, but that made the wedding all the more entertaining. I enjoyed the entire cast of both mortal and immortal characters, the mystery kept me guessing, and it made for a very late reading night. I found the twin relationship versus the new life mate relationship endearing and hope Alasdair's twin finds a mate soon. As always, I look forward to the next romance in the Argeneau series.

What a great book! I know I'm not the only one waiting for this story--and Lynsay Sands didn't disappoint! I wished it was a longer book--as these are two characters I'd love to hear more about!
