This is a series that I have loved reading with every installment. This one just might be my favorite. This is one of my favorites authors. I enjoy her writing skills and attention to details that make her stories pop. This is a well written story that is hard to put down. A story where there are spice, hot vampires and one you don't want to miss. I enjoyed being pulled into the story by the characters. They are relateable and truly made the story for me. I enjoyed the chemistry and growth of the characters and plot throughout the story. This is a fast paced story that I read in one sitting as it is that awesome. An engaging story that is hard to put down and one that I highly recommend.

When Sophia tins a wedding with tae bo McAllister the last thing she expects to meet is her life may the wind she gets babysat by his cousin Alastair she can’t help but feel attracted to the handsome Scotsman. She feels an overwhelming attraction to him and despite his recent bad luck he’s starting to look forward to the future the only problem is they each have secrets from each other and Sophie may even have a stalker. I thought this book was going to be a lot funnier know having said that I still enjoyed it I love books were girls unknowingly date vampires and would love to read one where the opposite is true but I guess that’ll happen in another book ask for this one I didn’t joy it just thought it would be a lot funnier than it was although I did love the uncles… I mean who wouldn’t! I also didn’t know this was part of the series not that it affected the reading of the book in anyway. If you love the romances where women fall in love with immortals/vampires/monsters the you’ll definitely love Bad Luck Vampire I want to thank the publisher and Net Galley for my free arc copy please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

This was another great addition to the Argenau series. I thought that the storyline was unusual, and I loved Alasdair's Uncles. They were a hoot. Alasdair and Sophie were wonderful characters, and it was a treat to be able to visit this wonderful world of Immortals that Ms. Sands created. I hope that her imagination will continue to come up with storylines for the series that are just begging to be told.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book, which was supplied by the publisher via NetGalley.

Another great continuation of the Argeneau series! Lynsay does it again with an amazing paranormal vampire romance

It's hard to believe that this is the 36th installment of the Argeneau vampire series. If you haven't read them all, this can be read as a stand-alone novel. However, as a fan of this series, I have to recommend that you read them all, hopefully in order as there are overlapping characters. In this latest entry, Alasdair MacKenzie meets his life mate at a wedding of a fellow immortal. Unfortunately, she is there as someone else's date and Alasdair doesn't feel right poaching someone else's date. Meanwhile Sophie feels just as conflicted at not having the same thoughts about her actual date that she does of Alasdair. With the trademark humor that we've come to expect from Lynsay Sands, Sophie learns not only about the existence of Immortals but also the lengths one will go to connect with their potential life mate. While it may be number 36, I'm definitely looking forward to more. I mean, afterall, the uncles need to find their life mates!

Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of BAD LUCK VAMPIRE (Book 36 of the Argeneau Vampire paranormal romance series) by Lynsay Sands in exchange for an honest review. When Sophie agrees to attend a wedding with a handsome man, she doesn’t expect to meet the man of her dreams, i.e., Alasdair MacKenzie, AT the wedding. However, since her date is busy with his duties as part of the wedding party, she and her not-date have time to form a connection. However, Sophie has perpetually bad luck with her loved ones dying or being horribly maimed. Her relationship with Alasdair follows the usual bad luck: he’s poisoned, he’s run over by a car, and his look-alike brother is smashed in a crash. Soon, there’s a bunch of nosy immortals poking around in her personal life.

I liked this book and enjoy the series. I recommend the book and the series to fans of paranormal vampire romances.

This book forgives the shame of the way some of the characters act in this series. Tybo is a very naughty vampire that loves to play some interesting pranks on certain characters. How the tables have been turned on him at his dearest friend’s wedding. Sophie and Alasdair who who’ve thought. These to bring some interesting entertainment to the story where loyalty and love must stand against vengeance. The story is an easy read that was very fun to read. The romance was very sweet. Almost like a sweep you off your feet sort of thing. I enjoyed the characters very witty attitudes. I found the extremely entertaining. Until next time my fellow readers. Read on! I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I feel like this series has run its course. When I first started reading this series, I absolutely loved it but now after many years, the plot reads the same and it's predictable. Immortal finds their mate, they find ways to get mate, explain what immortals are, some danger is involved that would either force the situation to reveal what they are or turn them into immortals, danger is removed and everybody lives happily ever after. I only read this because I'm loyal to the series. But I don't feel like I've read anything new.

I've been reading this series off and on since it first came out in 2005. It's quirky, steamy, and always makes me smile.

Bad Luck Vampire had all the elements I've come to love: witty banter, hilarious jokes, off-the-charts chemistry, and side characters you love.

There's a scene where Sophie finds out Alasdair is immortal that had tears streaming down my face, I was laughing so hard. The things that came out of Sophie's mouth are worth reading the whole book for!

I also loved how sweet Alasdair was. He was infinitely patient with her and constantly had to fend off his well-meaning uncles. His accent came out anytime he felt his big emotions, too, which was an added bonus!

There were a few things I wasn't fond of though. A good chunk of the middle of the book seemed to be written by rote. It was like a grocery list of events rather than the events themselves. Sophie's backstory also ended up being super dark then wrapped up quickly. I was expecting it to flow for a little longer.

Even with those two items, I still enjoyed this book. After nearly 40 books in the series, there are bound to be some issues. I'd still recommend it to lovers of paranormal romantic comedies!

Thank you, Harper Collins, Lynsay Sands, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

First Impressions
Bad Luck Vampire is the most recent release for the “Argeneau” series. I had such a blast with this book and while it wasn’t a perfect it was such fun to read through it. I really was intrigued to see what would be delivered on this one. Especially with this sexy as all get out cover. I just knew that I was in for a treat and it definitely was a wonderful story that I could easily get behind. This is a story that will have the perfect blend of spooky vibes with well balanced laughter. I love seeing how well this story was written in many regards and the moments that entertainined from beginning to end. We were introduced to some new characters that were so fun to read. This also has a set up of a match that doesn’t start at first, but how it evolves was quite unique, I just feel like this book could have used another 50 pages or so to the relationship building aspects to the story. It just felt a bit too rush in the end or this book would have had a five star rating attached to it. I do think that this book will appeal to fans of the Argeneau series or just a fun vampire romance that has a bit lighter but sexy vibes to it.

Summary
The setup of the story is that our heroine, Sophie, ends up on a bad date who gets a bit too forward than he should. Two enforcers for Lucien Argeneau stop the attack and keep Sophie safe. And they are brothers. But one invites her as his date to his brothers wedding. Sophie feeling grateful for the rescue of sorts, agrees to the wedding date. But her date being the best man isn’t able to be by her side, and she is then brought to the side of her lifemate….broody and reserved Alasdair who has four Scottish uncles who are charming and devilish and a twin brother that has more voice but she is more drawn to the quiet one, the one that pierces her heart deeply with one look. And when its apparent that Sophie is being focused on and that everyone around her is being attacked, Alastair and his family are determined to find out why. And during this mystery gathering, Sophie and Alastair start bonding and courting each other. But will Sophie be able to accept Alastair for who he is?

What I Loved
Bad Luck Vampire was such a fun story and I had a blast with this one. It kept me on my toes all the way through. There is something unique about the writing style of Lynsay Sands. Its the way that she is able to draw you into a story with a perfect balance of atmospheric vibes and humor that work in tandem together. We are also introduced to some new characters and I really am curious to see where the author is going with this bunch and would love for these Scottish uncles especially to find their mates. I would find that so entertaining. Alastair makes for a dreamboat in this book. I love how deliberate he is in his courting of Sophie despite the help from his twin and uncles. And when the danger elements come into play, well that was really interesting. I found that it really added some more dimension to what the title of the story actually conveys. The romance that is developed between the hero and heroine was quite interesting. There is some powerful chemistry between them and I really appreciated how compelling their connection is drawn in the story. You are instantly captivated by these two and their bond to each other. And all the laughs in this book. I honestly couldn’t stop laughing….to the point of pain. That was how well done the humor was in this story.

What I Struggled With
My issue was the ending. It felt way too rushed and I also felt like the romance just didn’t have enough connection to it. It just felt like they needed so much more time than they received. I really loved this book and it just felt like they needed a bit more focus to them. I fell very hard for this couple and it just didn’t quite get executed all the way.

Overall View
Bad Luck Vampire is a sexy romp of a vampire romance that is bound to delight your emotions from beginning to end. Its a story of mystery, boundless laughs, and a stunning chemistry to hold your attention captive!

Bad Luck Vampire (Argeneau #36) by Lynsay Sands
Alasdair and Sophie the newest life mates - He is a twin and an enforcer - she has lost everyone she has ever loved. He can't read her and knows she is for him but is unsure how to make his move. No problem, his four uncles and twin have his back. There is angst, suspense, danger, some very bad luck, hidden evil, laughs, tears, wonderful Argeneu family history, fun catching up with family members, lots of steam that get us to a HEA.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Entertaining Scary Witty Steamy Haunting Romantic Action-packed Tear-jerker Page-turner Wonderful characters Happily Ever After Tragic Easy-to-read Informative Unpredictable Great world building.

3 stars - I liked it

Alasdair meets his life mate, Sophie, during his cousin's wedding while she is there on a date with another relative. He, and all his relatives, realize that she is his life mate and are determined to help him woo her, but after the wedding. While Sophie and Alasdair instantly hit it off, Alasdair seems to have run into some bad luck and keeps finding himself injured.

Like all of the Argeneau books, this was a wonderful fated mates relationship with a splash of danger thrown in. I love these books because they are a great blend of romance and action. I also just love all the different ways these immortals struggle to explain what they are and the reactions of the humans, and Sophie’s reaction had me cracking up.

Alasdair is a quiet and grumpy enforcer who usually lets his chatty twin lead discussions. He doesn’t really like people but with Sophie we see him open up and live again. I really liked Alasdair. He was sweet, protective, and very considerate. Sophie is a smart computer programer who is working at her foster family's insurance business. She has lost a lot of people in her life and doesn’t let a lot of people in but we see her opening up with Alasdair and gaining a larger family with the Argeneau. These two had an intense relationship filled with the new life mate urges that meant they couldn’t keep their hands off each other.

Like some of the previous books in this series, there was a lot of trauma and danger discussed. Sophie has lost a lot of people in her life and Alasdair and his uncles quickly realize that there is something more going on. It was a bit unexpecting finding out what had been going on for years and also very heartbreaking for Sophie. I wasn’t expecting a lot of what happened at the end.

Overall, this was another good romance for this series and I can’t wait to read the next book. Hopefully we will see Alasdair’s twin brother Colle or some of his uncles finally find their life mates because I really liked them and want to see more of them.

CW: References to death of parents in a house fire, racist family, death of friends, death of fiance in accidents, friend in coma, foster care, and child abuse. Discussions of trauma and being in a psychiatric hospital; Stalking; suicide.

This was solidly middling for me- these books have gotten kind of repetitive, but I liked the protagonists for this one and I found it compelling.

I love a Lindsay Sands novel and Bad Luck Vampire was fun. What happens when you meet your fated mate and she is another man's date? Add in a stalker and you have the perfect tale.
She had me guessing the stalker till the very end.

Lynsay Sands Argeneau series never disappoints. Those books I used to sneak from my moms collection to read when I was a teen. Now I read all of her books.

I love this series. Visiting old and new characters. I really liked this bad luck story and how it was kind of a romantic suspense novel more than some previous reads have been. The thriller aspect of who was after our FMC was someone I didn't expect and I didn't expect the reason either. I just really liked these two characters from the stealing a date to the uncles who were trying to help him woo her. The uncles were my favorite, they made me laugh often with their meddling. Another great installment to the Argeneau series.

Exciting, romantic and unpredictable.

I have always enjoyed the Argeneau books and this book is a great addition to the series. Sophie and Alasdair’s story is one not to be missed. I just couldn’t get enough of them. Even at the end, I felt there should have been more to their story. I like how they both thought they were bad luck with all the strange happening they have had. But it all wrapped up in the end with a great explanation. The story was witty and fun with Alasdair’s meddling family. Seriousness with the whole immortal life mate part and trying to figure out a bit of a mystery. I enjoyed catching up with characters from other books as well. Even though this book is one in a very long series, it can be read as a stand-alone.

This is a long running series that while helps if you have context from the previous books, you won't be completely lost if you pick it up. The formula for this is much like previous books I have read in the series, where there is insta-lust on behalf of both main characters (this is really part of the primary plot point). Its still a quick, enjoyable read especially with the easy banter, steam, and mystery. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to provide my honest review.

Still loving the Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands!! Alastair & Sophie’s book made me laugh out loud, the three uncles were hilarious!! These two made a great couple, you will love them & all of the other characters. Sophie has had a rough dating history thinking she’s cursed & finds out the shocking truth at the end. Fabulous book, amazing series, a definite must read!! I voluntarily read for an honest review. Received arc from Netgalley & publisher.

This was a good, quick read with a good twist on vampires. Sophie at times for me was a little unlikable, but a lot of that is my preference in personality. Alisdair’s character was adorably awkward. He’s the quiet one that lacks people skills. These two together were pretty cute. Sophie brings Alisdair out of his shell and gets him to open up about himself. Alisdair brings Sophie confidence and happiness. The twist in the story was good, and the villain was one that I did not see coming. Total misdirect and I love that! Overall this was a good, enjoyable read.
