This book was fun, light, and easy going. I love this author and read all the books in the Argeneau series. This book can be read as a stand-alone as well. Sophie meets Alasdair and sparks fly. Sophie has bad luck and many people around her have accidents or die. Alasdair hasn’t been in a relationship for decades because he is an immortal (vampire). He is the quiet type, so his brother and 4 Scottish uncles help him woo her. This book was great but too short. I love the next group of relatives’ especially Scottish side. It has a mystery, heat, lol moments and lots of fun. I would recommend this series – it only gets better. I can’t wait until the next book comes out.

**I received this book from NetGalley and publisher for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I love this series. This is #36, and there were at least 6 characters who could be next. I liked that this was not part of an ARC with a villain who is from other books. This story had a surprise villain.
Alasdair meets his life mate at a wedding when she is on a date with another immortal. Sophie doesn't understand why she is so attracted to him. It is quite adorable. Alasdair's 4 Scottish uncles decide to help him woo Sophie, and when she is in peril, they all help her. The usual fun banter and clueless male is what I love about these books.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my EARC. If you have not read the previous 35 books, get reading!! I love to reread these books.

Another super hot mystery with Marguerite's match making of the immortal kind. This time for Alasdair, an enforcer and Sophie, who works with her family selling insurance. Known as the Black Widow, a name given to her by her adopted family, because any and all she cares for ends up dying. When she finds herself caring for Alasdair Sophie worries he'll be next.
I love this series and this story totally captivated me so much I had to read it twice!
I received this book as an arc from Net Gallery and I am voluntarily submitting my review.

Alasdair and Sophie are wonderful. It really is hard to kill a vampire but Alasdair comes close because of someone who wants Sophie. The explanations are humorous and the Uncles from Scotland are hilarious. Dont miss this book

Maybe the best one so far!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💚🖤💙❤️💖
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌍
Character development: ☺️😊😁😉🥰

The heroine: Sophie - she is a former foster child who works with the last family who fostered her at an insurance company owned by the father. She works with her father, foster sister and brother. They call her the black widow because two of her former boyfriends have died on her and one is on life support and basically brain dead. When she goes on a blind date from hell, she is rescued by Tybo and Valerian, two immortals who are enforcers for Lucian Argeneau. Tybo thinks she is cute and asks her on a date to Valerian’s wedding.

The Hero: Alasdair - he is an attendee at the wedding and along with his twin brother Colle, is planning to help Lucian as an enforcer in place of Valerian while he is on his honeymoon. Alistair and Colle are very close since they are twins and can’t read each other. They have lived together for a while and neither has been interested in food or sex for centuries. He is one of the Mackenzies from Scotland.

The story: Alasdair’s four Scottish uncles were also at the wedding and as soon as the four rogue hunters found out that he had found his life mate, they were determined to help him woo the girl. Though Alasdair would rather the four nosy uncles would stay out of it, he knew they were like dogs with a bone. The uncles were very Scottish and absolutely hilarious.

The story was definitely a good one. I happen to love this series and haven’t gotten sick of it yet. I hope Lynsay keeps writing more. The romance between these two happened fast, but I like how they still got to know each other and had a few dates. Then there were some events that suggested someone was after Alasdair and with Sophie’s history of boyfriends and accidents, it seemed she might have a stalker. Though even her parents died in a fire when she was young, so it was hard to tell what exactly was going on.

I think this was actually one of my favorite stories so far in the series. I love how this series has such terrific and colorful supporting characters. I can’t wait for Tybo and Colle to get their own stories, I hope they are coming up soon. The uncles were also terrific characters, though I am not sure if I want them to get their own stories since it is kind of hard to figure out what exactly they are saying half the time with their thick Scottish brogues.

“Honey, like Uncle Ludan told you, we’re immortals not vampires.” A very unamused snort came from the other side of the door.
“Well, Alasdair, honey, you can call it what you want, but if it looks like a duck and quacks like duck, it’s a damned duck.”

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Alasdair is the latest vampire to woo his life mate in Lynsay Sands' Argeneau series. Unfortunately, he keeps running into roadblocks but Sophie is worth the effort. Between an honorable Tybo, a plethora of family members and the solving of a mystery that has been following our heroine for many years can this hot Scottish vampire claim his mate. Don't miss Bad Luck Vampire!

Love Alasdair and Sophie's story. I have to say I figured out who the culprit was pretty quickly, only because I'm addicted to the Argeneau Series. Although I didn't figure out the final plot. Lynsay is hilarious as usual, in her writing that had me not wanting to put this book down. I read it over two days and plan to do another read just to see if there was anything I may have missed.

I’m an absolute sucker for the Argeneau series. After breaking a long hiatus from it before catching up on all of the books last year—I read all 35 in an epic binge read—it’s super fun to be back with this sprawling family of immortals. It’s easy to see how much the books have changed since the beginning of the series, but that doesn’t take away from my enjoyment of them. A few staples have to be checked off in every book (which means, yes, you can dive in here at book 36 if you want to), and that’s not a bad thing: there’s comfort in the certainty that an immortal will find their life mate, the sex will be off-the-charts good to the point of distraction, and secrets will have to be revealed to make way for HEA.

Bad Luck Vampire is a fun read—one to be devoured in one or two sittings, perhaps beside the pool (which is mostly where I read it), and enjoyed without ridiculously high expectations. Alasdair MacKenzie is a delightful Scottish immortal with an identical twin who is sure to get his own book (yay!) and four “barbaric” uncles with good if misguided intentions who are also sure to get their own books (quadruple yay!). Alasdair is gruff and the opposite of verbose, lacks the inherent charm of his brother and is totally swoonworthy. Give me a Scottish vampire who gets even more Scottish when turned on, stressed, or agitated, and I am a happy camper.

Honestly, the story here is a little OTT, and the ending is a bit abrupt—or maybe I was just sad for it to be over because it was a wild ride—but I loved it, nonetheless. It was an amusing, entertaining, and sexy read, and I regret nothing about having devoured it ASAP.

Quick Summary: An immortal's tale on finding a lifemate

My Review: Bad Luck Vampire by Lynsay Sands is book 36 in the Argeneau Novel series.

About the Book: After suffering through the date from hell, all Sophie Ferguson wanted to do was make a great escape. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be. Her blind date had elected to ridiculously follow her and push his attentions on her. Thankfully, a knight in shining armor rescued her, and before she knew it, he whisked her away to a wedding. Who knew she'd meet her soulmate there?

About the Conflict: To Sophie's utter dismay, the "curse" that had seemingly followed her for years was activated, and the newfound relationship that she had passionately embraced was in jeopardy. Could Alasdair Mackenzie and his immortal clan help her by bringing clarity and resolution to the troubling situation that plagued her?

My Final Say: This was my first exposure to this series. I was quite surprised by its humor, dramatic suspense, and spiciness. I was able to pick up and follow along without any great difficulty. I found this novel to be very entertaining.

Book number 36 in the Argeneau series follows the very attractive and very Scottish Alasdair MacKenzie as he finds his lifemate in Sophie Ferguson. The only problem, is she is on a date with another immortal! In addition, to that, his four very nosey uncles are butting in and insisting on helping him woo her…and he just keeps running into some really bad luck…Alasdair has his work cut out for him if he is going to convince Sophie to be his.
I had a great time with this one. One of my favorite things about this series, and Lynsay Sands in general, is how funny they are. Even with some serious things going on the characters lives, nothing can get in the way of these lifemates, not even four nosey uncles and mysterious deaths.
Another thing I really enjoy about that you can read them without having read the others in the series. Any person can jump in and each book will give an explaination of the lore and how these Immortals came to be. Each book centers around different characters. BUT, it is so satisfying to have read them all too! The characters from past books pop, many recurring from early in the series and you get to see snippets of their lives from the point of view of new characters. I adore seeing favorites like Margeurite and Lucian return time and time again (Marguerite’s is my favorite: Vampire, Interrupted book 9- I don’t know how to link other books in my reviews lol).
The villain in this one was not who I was expecting and it kind of threw me. And while I thought the ending was kind of fast, I also appreciate the book not focusing on the bad so much, since this is supposed to be a light and fluffy romance so the stakes can’t be too sharp right? (did you get my joke? Haha.)
Anyway…
I recommend this book to anyone who like romcom vampire romance with loveable and sexy heroes and heroines or anyone who like Sands’s other books. She is always good for a laugh and some romance.

Lynsay Sands is one of my favorite authors, and this series happens to be my favorite of her different collections. As such I'm always excited to see another installment of the Argeneau families adventures.
This installment introduced Alasdair MacKenzie, a member of the rogue hunter force, and Sophie, an IT professional working for a "family" insurance company. Ms. Sands tells an amazingly cute, while clumsy romance between two people trying their hardest to find a connection in a situation fraught with complications. Death seems to cling to the people Sophie loves, while Alasdair can't escape his well meaning family long enough to properly court his life mate. Without giving too much away, I warn you that poor Alasdair is going thru it, so much that I lost track of how many accidents the poor man was experiencing. I loved every moment of reading this novel and their journey to happily ever after.

When I tell you this series never disappoints!!! This book seemed to be over way too soon. Alasdair was too cute and was so considerate and lovestruck. Sophie had been through a lot to the point se believed she was cursed. The end really took me by surprise, I had really thought I had it figured out until the author brought it all together. This one seemed to follow a slightly different blueprint but I was here for it. I also loved how the uncles were in the book they where definitely something else. I found my self excited, shocked, and laughing throughout the entire book. I can’t wait until the next one comes out.

This is a laugh out loud addition to the series. Alasdair is a quiet kind of guy but still waters run deep. What’s a guy to do when he finds his life mate as a cousins date at a wedding filled with nosy relatives. Laugh along and find out.

4.5-5 Stars! Lynsay Sands is such an amazing writer! This is book number 36 in the ‘Argeneau’ series and can be read as a standalone. I’ve read a few of the books and have enjoyed following the series over the years. The main characters in this book were Sophie & Alasdair and both were easy to love & root for. Poor Sophie has suffered a lot of loss in her life. Alasdair, over 300 years old who just so happens to be a twin immortal to brother Colle, has been waiting to meet his ‘life mate’ and he just so happens to meet her at his cousins wedding, while she’s there with someone else! They both are attracted to each other right away and it didn’t take long for them to move to the ‘sexy times’. (And how sexy they were!) This had great main characters and wonderful secondary characters, sexy ‘sexy times’, “bouncing around on a penis more than 300 years old”, immortals, life mates, murders, attempted murder, possible curses, tough times, good times, bad dates, great dates, 4 ale-swigging, foul-mouthed barbarian uncles and a HEA ending. The uncles were hilarious! So was Tybo, the guy Sophie went with to the wedding where she met Alasdair. What he does with the jerk, Carl, in the beginning… I LOL’d at that part! Hope they all get their life mates soon. (Yes, I know they’re fictional but I still want them to get the HEA ending too! Everyone deserves an HEA ending, even fictional people.) I felt the ending was a bit abrupt, would’ve liked a bit more there. Other than that, this was a perfect book for lovers of romance featuring immortals…not vampires, immortals! Big difference.

I've been reading this series from the very start and have seen the changes that the series has gone through. Some of the changes are good ones, but some are not so good. However, as the years go on and change, so must a series as long as this one. I find the newer books to be a little less amusing and a lot more passionate (the sex in this one got a tad out of hand for my tastes). But, as I said, things change with the times.

This book did have an incredible cast of secondary characters and a mystery that still has me slapping my head and saying to myself - now, why did I not figure out who did it? I never figured out the why of it, either! What a surprise twist! I loved it!

I hope to see some of the Uncles and, for sure, Colle and Tybo find their lifemates. After all these centuries, they deserve a little nookie and to enjoy food again. Don't you? LOL!

A big thank you to NetGalley and Avon/Harper Voyager for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is part of a series, I believe this is number 36. It reads well as a stand alone. This is an insta=love, so if you find that annoying you might not like this series. I find these so fun-the characters are always interesting. I love love Alasdair's 4 Scottish uncles!! I hope they get their own books soon. There is also some mystery in this book-a stalker, and I found that part sort of sad. Overall, this is a good read. 3.5 stars

“I’m not cursed. The fact that the three men I was engaged, or almost engaged, to were all in terrible accidents is just a coincidence.”

At page 57, I was already laughing my butt off!😂 The writing was so hilarious, I could not get enough! I didn’t want the book to end either! This author has a new fan and I plan on looking up all the other books!🔥

Sophie gets saved after a horrible blind date that leads to a date with a nice guy she assumes. Little does she know it will be at a wedding and she will be introduced to someone else.

“I believe she will suit someone here perfectly.”

Meet Alasdair, the vampire who starts to have bad luck after Sophie walks into his life. Being not interested in someone is an extremely long time, Sophie changes all of that. He can’t keep his hands off her!

The 🌶️ scenes were off the charts!🔥 His uncles and twin brother was my absolute favorite! I feel like I loved them all and want to read more about them. Alasdair’s family is perfect for Sophie.

While things are not always fun and spicy with these two. Instead of being cursed, Sophie has someone that has been hurting her all these years.

The mystery thrown in the book was really fun and I love how supportive the uncles were. I honestly did not see it coming and would have never guessed who it was.

This book was just perfect! It had everything I wanted from the fun banter, lust, family support, protectiveness, and nonstop humor. This book can be a standalone but I highly recommend checking out the author as well!

Thank you, Lynsay Sands and Avon and Harper Voyager, for the EARC! As always, my review is my opinion and thoughts. This review will be shared on my Instagram (Alexandriavwilliams_) and blog https://www.sidekickstyles.com/blogs/lit-sidekick-chronicles-adventures-in-bookish-bliss shortly.

What can I say about these books? Lynsay Sands knows romance. Period. And insta-love? Yes, please! I know a lot of people aren't really fond of those kinds of books because they feel like it's something that cannot actually happen. However, that has not been my experience. My grandparents were an insta-love couple, my mom felt that way about my dad, and I felt that way about my husband. We started off as friends but the moment I laid eyes on him, I knew he was going to be someone important in my life and that my life would never be the same again. Does that sound hokey? Well, hokey or not that is exactly what went down. We went from friends to lovers to married all in the same year lol. And we have been married for over 17 years.

So, when it came to reading about Alasdair and Sophie? I completely buy it. Call it fate, nanos, God, chemical reaction, pheromones or what not, it still happens. Both of these unique individuals have bad luck running through their veins and through their lives like it's a habit. Alasdair for starters never has good luck with women, in fact, the first time he ends up meeting his life mate and she's o a date with another immortal? Yikes!

Sophie is a lovely woman who has grown up in and amongst tragedies all her life. Her curse is in not knowing why these things keep happening to her. I love that Lynsay Sands not only put in a smoking hot romance between these two but that there is a mystery interwoven in the story as well.

The whole story is like a car running with no brakes at top speed down a hill and running towards a cliff, but I love it! It fits perfectly with how everything comes together between these two love birds. Yeah, we can all say that we want to move slow and take our time to get to know each other, blah blah blah, but when it's meant to be, it's meant to be and nothing you can do to stop it.

Sometimes fate collides with life and causes quite a stir. This story will not only grab you by the heart strings and cause you to hold on tight but will also grip you by the throat and at some points you won't even be able to breathe because of the shocks that ensue. Your heart will beat so fast!

Lynsay Sands has always been one of my top favorite authors and I have never read a single one of her books that I did not love. If you're a fan of paranormal romances, sexy immortals, giant families that can sometimes be a pain, but lovingly so, surprises and twists and turns, well then this book is for you! I absolutely recommend this book.

Thanks to Net Galley, the publishers, and to Lynsay Sands for the ability to read and review this book. All opinions are honest and completely my own.

I thought our lead characters were pretty even with their personalities. I liked that one didn’t outshine the other or had to make up for the lack of personality one character had vs the other. The pacing was really great for this piece of the story. It wasn’t racing to the finish and important parts were explained with enough detail that even if it felt fast it wasn’t skipping over anything. I thought the relationship between Sophie and Alasdair was cute and spicyyyy. I definitely think it has potential to be something really fun and powerful. So I really am excited to read more of their story and see what happens with them!

If I didn’t watch Outlander recently, I would have struggled to know what a Scottish accent should sound like in my head as an American reader. Those parts might be hard for some readers to grasp in their minds as they build their imagery.

This novel in the Argeneau series had a different spin on it since there was a mystery to solve as well as the romance development between the two man characters, Sophie and Alasdair. Light-hearted romance that follow similar background / theme of the other Argeneau novels, however I enjoyed the mystery aspect added. Honestly my favorite part was Alasdair's four uncles. They were a hoot. Hope to see more of them in future novels! 4.5 out of 5 stars.
