‘The Other Couple’ is my first Diane Jeffrey book, however it will certainly not be my last. Right from the first chapter, I couldn’t put this book down. Ms. Jeffrey has done a fabulous job of making this a true ‘page-turner’. Her characters are so well developed and the entire suspenseful story is so believable. I will certainly be picking up some of Diane Jeffrey’s previous books.

Oh, this was good! Although we ‘lost’ one main character very early, which created the story, the rest of the characters were really well rounded, particularly the women. Amy, in particular, developed in strength and purpose. I veered between my feelings of anger towards Kirsten because of the way she was cheating but sympathy because of the way she was being treated by Nick. Karma, you might say. The twist at the end - no spoilers! - was delicious. A highly recommended and satisfying read. Thank you @netgalley and the publishers for the advance copy. I’ll be looking out for Diane Jeffrey books from now!

This is unputdownable. I wasn’t entirely sure to expect with this storyline, but after a few chapters I was hooked.
Amy is a lot smarter than she seems. I don’t want to reveal too many details because it will ruin the chase for you, but this is a well-written and suspenseful novel worthy of your time. The ending was satisfying-they got theirs for sure.
Leaves it open at the epilogue for a possible sequel I think!

Thanks to Netgalley and HQ digital for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Nick and Kirsten are returning to London after a relaxing weekend in the country but in their way out of the small town where they stayed they hit a man that is walking his dog. Amy and Greg Re happily married and expecting a baby so when Greg disappears Amy knows he didn't leave on his own and she is determined to find out what happened to him.

I have read all of Diane Jeffrey's books and find her to be a very dependable author. This was one of her better books. It was a one day read for me. I was interested throughout and couldn't put it down because I needed to know where it was going and how it would end. Great read.

Wow what a page-turner! I was glued from the beginning to the last page as the tension builds and builds!

A particularly unlikeable couple, Kirsten and Nick, are on a romantic break when they cause an accident killing a man and taking his wife’s happy life away from her. And more. With so much to lose, they decide to cover up the accident.

As the victim is being dealt with by the local police as a missing person, his wife becomes increasingly convinced something very bad has happened to him and vows to find who is responsible and make them pay.

This is one of those books that you just want to read in one sitting! I managed to do it in three, but only because life and responsibilities got in the way!

I was hoping Amy, the victim’s wife, would find the couple and make them pay. Every step closer she got to them I was silently urging her on further!

I loved the way the book was written in alternating chapters from Amy and Kirsten, and I enjoyed how Kirsten was spiralling downwards, just waiting for that knock on the door.

Will be reading more from this author.

Step into the deviously twisted world created by the talented author Diane Jeffrey in "The Other Couple," a suspenseful tale that will leave you on the edge of your seat. The story begins with the seemingly happy couple, Amy and Greg, whose dreams of a bright future are shattered when Greg is tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident. With scant evidence and the perpetrator unknown, the mystery thickens.
But hidden beneath the surface lies a web of deceit, and the only individuals privy to vital information are Kirsten and Nick, both entangled in an illicit affair they desperately wish to keep concealed from their families. The question lingers—have they successfully evaded justice?
Frustrated with the police investigation, Amy takes matters into her own hands and embarks on a quest for answers. By a twist of fate, she stumbles upon a crucial clue, leading her to delve into the lives of Nick and Kirsten, plotting her next move.
As the plot unfolds, readers are skilfully manipulated by the author's crafty storytelling. Just when you think you have it all figured out, doubts creep in, and the narrative takes an unexpected turn, leaving you reeling with surprise.
The author's brilliance shines through in her masterful character development. Each individual possesses their distinct personality and traits, cleverly tailored to match their actions throughout the story. Prepare yourself for some shocking revelations!
For those seeking a crime thriller that's more psychological and mysterious, rather than relying on blood and gore, "The Other Couple" fits the bill perfectly. A captivating domestic thriller that's both addictive and surprising, this novel weaves a web of deception that will keep you engrossed until the very last page. A must-read for anyone looking for a thrilling and unpredictable journey into the human psyche.

This is a story of two couples madly in love, however one couple accidentally destroys the lives of the other.
Mr and Mrs Taylor, aka Nick and Kirsten, are on a romantic weekend away, they have just enjoyed a lovely meal and are returning to their real lives with their spouses when the unthinkable happens! The rain is pouring, they don’t know the roads and after shooting around a corner the collide with Greg and his dog Rusty. It’s too late for Greg, nothing they can do for him and being the pompous, self involved couple they are the decision is made not to report the accident but to cover it up. Don’t worry dog lovers Rusty is fine and well looked after.

Amy is at home making dinner waiting on Greg and Rusty’s return. The hours pass and she becomes increasingly anxious. She calls the police and they seem disinterested and try to convince Amy that he has just left her, but Amy and her in laws know better. If they can’t get justice then revenge will be set in motion.

This book had me gripping the edge of my seat wondering what was coming next. I felt the characters were written well and stayed true to themselves to the end. The plot was well thought out and cleverly constructed.
Each chapter was titled with one or the other of the two female leading characters, which I quite like, however despite this the book was written in a third person which I found slightly odd.

I had not heard of Diane Jeffery before but from this book I will certainly be putting more of hers on my tbr list.

Thank you NetGalley for the arc copy, again you have introduced me to a new writer.

Great read, twisty and fast paced plot. Maybe stretches credulity just a bit but excellent characters and a very satisfying ending.

The Other Couple is my first book written y Diane Jeffrey and I was pleasantly surprised. It is well written and whilst truly character driven, it is still keeping the suspense alive throughout. The realistic dialogue and believable interactions between the characters made the story even more interesting. Although I wasn't completely satisfied with the ending (it was the only point that didn’t ring true to me), I still found the book highly enjoyable. This promising discovery has sparked my interest, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author.

Loved everything in this book ! The accident, the cover-up, the widow's plan for revenge, all was good ! I totally recommend it

I loved Diane Jeffrey's previous books and I'm glad to say this one is a very good one too.

A very dark domestic thriller in which a widow seek revenge for her husband, killed in a hit and run, the other couple is a real page-turner. Not for the usual reasons – you know from the start who the victim and the killer is – but to see how far Amy is willing to go to carry out her revenge, how she is going to execute it, and if she is going to get away with it. I was glued to the pages and was very satisfied with the ending.

Although I didn't find any of the characters particularly loveable, I could empathise with Amy and her in-laws, even though some choices and actions were questionable...

A book to watch out for, the perfect read to keep you up at night.

Two couples. A fatal accident. And a decision that changes everything…
Kirsten and Nick are enjoying a weekend away until, on their drive home, they accidentally run over and kill a man. They should call for help – but they have too much to lose, and no one can know the real reason they’re here. Instead, they make a split-second decision to conceal the accident.

Amy and Greg have just celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary. Amy is expecting a baby, and they couldn’t be happier. So when Greg fails to come home from a dog walk one weekend, Amy knows the police are wrong to believe he left of his own accord. Someone must be behind Greg’s disappearance, and Amy won’t give up until she gets justice – or revenge.

If you had nothing left to lose, how far would you go to find the truth?
