This book really had my intrigued from the beginning. I finished it in about a day, and in usual FM fashion, was suspenseful and exciting. I did not think this was her best book because I was able to figure out every twist this time, however, I thought the story was super interesting and capitulating. So glad I was able to receive an ARC for this!

BEST FREIDA BOOK YET!!!
I could NOT put this one down. Freida knows how to just jump to it and have you second guessing yourself the whole way through. The Queen of twists never disappoints and her endings are always superb. I always want to reread the book as soon as I’m done just to catch the things I’ve missed. This book comes out May 8th and I highly recommend preordering it. Everyone’s going to be reading it and I promise you won’t want to miss out.

First off, I want to thank Freida, NetGalley and Victory Editing for allowing me to read a copy of this ARC. It was my birthday present and what a present it was!

Freida McFadden is my favorite author. I’ve read all of her books and I feel like a kid in a candy store every time she puts a new one out. I have to say that I love Freida’s writing style. I love that she uses short chapters in her books, that there’s so many twists and turns that you would not expect that give you an “Ah-ha” or an “Oh my gosh" moment. She is truly the queen of psychological thrillers. She’s just fabulous!

Now, about Ward D:
Amy Brenner is a 3rd year medical student and she is required to do a rotation on Ward D which is the psychiatric floor. She’s always dreamed of being a doctor, but the psychiatric floor is the very last place she wants to be. (And if you read this book, you’ll see why.) As soon as she arrives on the floor, she gets a bad feeling and she just cannot shake it. There are a few surprises in store for her! Will she be able to spend the 13 hours in Ward D? And will she live to tell about it?

I absolutely loved this book! Freida grabbed my attention from page 1 and just ran with it. I enjoyed all the twists and turns in this book. As you read on, the suspense builds and you don’t want to stop reading until you’re finished! Make sure to grab this book on May 8th!!!

📚Review: Ward D 💉💊
Guys, Freida has done it once again! She is just publishing hit after hit and Ward D is no exception! I was SO excited when I was approved for the ARC, of course everything else was put on hold so I could start this right away. From the very first page, I was completely hooked and literally could not put it down the entire time. It was so captivating and I just couldn’t stop reading it. What another fantastic book by Freida McFadden!!
This book takes places in a psych ward. Amy Brenner is a medical who gets picked to do the overnight shift in Ward D. She is uneasy from the start and doesn’t feel comfortable working this shift. As the night progresses and she talks to different people (co-workers and patients) it does nothing to ease her fears. She only becomes more worried that something terrible is going to happen over night. Then, one by one, people seem to be disappearing without a trace and soon Amy realizes, no one is to be trusted and no one is safe. Can she survive the night and make it out alive by the morning? Guess you’ll have to read to find out. This book was so great. Freida have us another fast paced thriller that you’ll want to devour in no time. I really don’t know where she thinks up these wonderful, yet crazy plots. She never fails to blow my mind. Every. Damn. Time. 🤯🤯 Her epilogues always leave me saying What the %*# & !!?? 😱
Congratulations Freida on yet another amazing book!! You will forever amaze me with your talent to captivate an audience with your writing!! This was surely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars for me!!

Thank you, Freida & NetGalley for the advanced copy!
It’s no surprise that this is a 5 star read, Freida can write a psychological, twisty thriller like no author, in my opinion. This might be my new favorite Freida McFadden novel (which is hard for me, because they’re all so good!) The psych ward was such a creepy atmosphere and easily my favorite setting yet. Freida’s real life experience in a hospital setting made it so easy to visualize, which in turn made it even creepier. Freida is a pro at shocking twists, and this book did not disappoint, the big twist in this was right on par with the level of shock for the Housemaid’s twist. Another fast paced, addicting, page turner! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was such a rollercoaster ride. I was on the edge of my seat the entire book and didn't want to put it down but also didn't want it to end. Frieda McFadden has a way with writing that I haven't found in another author. All of her books at 5 stars from me and this one is no exception.

Ward D by Freida McFadden
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Amy Brenner has no idea what she is stepping into when she starts her overnight shift in the locked psychiatric unit… Or does she? The past comes back to haunt her as she finds herself trapped on the unit. Surrounded by mentally ill patients, Amy doesn’t know who to trust in order to survive the terrifying night.
Can I just say? OH MY GOSH. Freida McFadden does it again! She is the queen of psychological thrill and leaving her readers guessing until the very end. Then she twists the knife once again in the epilogue- a truly Freida move. I couldn’t put this one down and I am still trying to pick my jaw up from the floor. I can’t recommend this book more. Five hundred stars!!

Amy Brenner, a medical student is assigned to take a shift on a locked Psych unit, Ward D. Despite her roommate Gabby, also a student, telling her everything will be fine, her nerves and fear have gotten the best of her. No one other than her best friend from childhood, Jade, knows why her fear exists. Amy’s on edge as she arrives for her shift but it escalates to heightened levels when she sees who is in room 905. After Amy and Cameron, a fellow student and ex-boyfriend, who is also assigned to the unit meet Dr Beck and nurse Ramona their night evolves with questionable mishaps, odd coincidences, disappearances and fear. Is it blood or jelly, you’ll have to find out as you read “Ward D”, a psychological thriller by Freida McFadden, a book I couldn’t put down.

Freida McFadden, who self published her first book in 2013 on Amazon, has gifted us with yet another crooked, twisted and delightful thriller with Ward D. #1 Bestselling author Freida is a physician herself, which explains her knowledge and insights in medicine.

I instantly related to the storyline of Ward D as I was once a nursing student myself and had to spend several days on a locked psych unit scared beyond belief. Freida left out no detail and kept you gripping for more. There was so much truth to what one might experience in meeting patients and the restrictions put on students to remain safe. Definitely a page turner, loved the short chapters and switch between present day and eight years earlier. I don’t think I’ll ever think about peach iced tea the same again. Rated 5 stars, a MUST read! Great one for a Bookclub. Grab it May 8th, 2023, RELEASE DAY!

This one is so very creepy. Who do you believe? What's real and what isn't? Can 7 am get here a little faster? I've really enjoyed all of Freida McFadden's books and this one, like many of her others, draws from her medical expertise in a very successful way. McFans will not be disappointed. If you are looking for a fast-paced, unnerving read, given this a go!

Thank you to Freida McFadden, NetGalley and the publisher for this advance copy!

Thank you to the publishers, NetGalley and Freida McFadden for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Folks, Freida has done it again. The story sucked me in and I soon found myself yelling at my kindle over some of the events that were taking place (no spoilers). Needless to say I was invested in the story. It was a fast paced thrill ride and I especially loved the character development in this one. I highly recommend this to fans of psychological thrillers and I hope you enjoy your stay on Ward D.

Amy gets the news that she will be covering a night shift on Ward D, the hospital’s mental health unit. Amy has been dreading this, as she has been keeping secrets of her own, but once patients start to vanish.. Amy wonders if her worst nightmare is coming true…

This took me a few days to get through…. BECAUSE IT WAS SO GOOD AND I DIDN’T WANT IT TO END!

Freida could write a book on how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and my eyes would be glued to every word.

I will say that I did guess the major twist… pretty early on I kind of have a feeling what was going to happen, which is a first ever for me when it comes to Freida’s books. However.. it didn’t ruin the book for me and I would 100% read it again.

Wow, what a great read.

This book takes place during one night in Ward D, the psychiatric ward of a hospital. The story is told from the POV of the main character and we get to read both the current timeline and one from a few years ago.

I was hooked from the start. The story itself was really good and had me flipping the pages well into the night. I enjoyed reading about the characters and when things were finally revealed I felt satisfied.

Freida McFadden has never let me down with her books and this one was no exception. She has a way of writing that I find easy and enjoyable.

I highly recommend this book.

Thank you to the author and to NetGalley for allowing me to read the ARC in return for an honest review.

Freida McFadden has done it again! This book reeled me in immediately and was impossible to put down. My favorite Freida book to date, although I might say that every time I read a new one. Amy is a medical student that is doing a rotation in a psychiatric ward. She only has to be there overnight, but it’s not going to be an easy shift. Amy’s character is brilliant and the story shifts from present day to her teenage years. I loved the way this book was presented. As always, Freida is the Queen of twists. 5 stars! Run to Amazon to pre-order this fast-paced thriller that is being released on May 8th.
Thank you #netgalley and #FreidaMcFadden for the opportunity to read this ARC!

Ward D by Freida McFadden is a gripping psychological thriller about a medical student named Amy, who is doing a psych rotation at Ward D. She is nervous about working the night shift and is worried that something will happen while she's there. Not only that, but Amy finds out that there is a patient that she knows and was her friend from childhood. Will she survive the night shift at Ward D or will something terrible happen?

Freida McFadden is a master at writing psychological thrillers and this book will keep you on the edge of your seat. Freida is famous for her twisty turns and will keep you guessing until the end of the book when the twist is finally revealed. I highly recommend Ward D. I promise you won't be disappointed. In fact, you can't go wrong with any of Freida's books. She is a very talented writer and even when you think that you have guessed that twist, trust me when I say that you won't. Freida has the unique ability to combine humor and mystery in her books, which I love.

Let me tell you! I truly enjoyed this book so much. I made myself put it down to make it last longer. I could have finished it in two days or less. This Author has a way with words and the twist just keep coming. I thought I had figured out who had done what but again, I was wrong until the last two chapters. It was like I was staying in Ward D with them. I can't wait to read more books from this author, she is truly a great writer. I hope you pick up your copy in May.

AMAZING! Freida McFadden always delivers! Just like all of her other books, I could NOT put this one down. I did not see the ending coming at all. I had my suspicions, but they were (almost) all wrong. This book will have you on the edge of your seat until the very end!

If you enjoyed The Inmate by Freida, then you will love this one! And if you haven't read The Inmate yet, what are you waiting for?!

First off, I want to say what a huge fan I am of her books. I’ve devoured all of the ones I’ve read. I was very excited to learn that she was coming out with this and I kept checking to see if my request had been approved. This wasn’t my favorite of hers but I still enjoyed it.

I loved the plot and have always wondered what it’s like working in a Pysch ward. There was a big twist that I did not see coming, but felt like maybe I should have.

Thank you for approving me for this.

Another excellent book by Freida.

Ward D follows Amy, a medical student tasked with spending a night in the psychiatric ward of the hospital she works in. The story is being told in the present and also from 8 years ago.

As the night goes on Amy starts realizing things in Ward D are not as they seem. When the power goes off and people go missing, is it all just in Amy’s head or is there a patient doing what everyone in the ward keeps warning her about?

I want to thank Freida McFadden and NetGalley for this ARC.
