I forgot to leave a review for this, but I really enjoyed it! It's been out for ages, so I won't say much more than I need to for my star rating. <3

A fun, clue-solving adventure with Breakfast Club and Outerbanks vibes. Rosewood Hunt was an entertaining read. I’m a sucker for mysterious small town teen adventures. The beginning was a little hard for me to get into. The pacing felt like it was somewhat dragging at first but that could’ve been my personal pacing preference kicking in and not the book itself. Once the characters started working together, the pacing changed and I was invested. There were times the book made me want to cry and others laugh. Overall, I thought it was perfect for it’s target audience and would recommend to YA readers.

This is a great book to chase the high of "The Inheritance Games". I had a great time reading it, and it was a quick read. I also liked the characters and the found family aspect. Also, there were aspects of the story the reader could play along with, which helped with engagement!

thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy. I really enjoyed this and will be getting copies for my shop.

The Rosewood Hunt is an Incredible debut! A fast-paced read with a propulsive plot and gripping characters, I'll be recommending this book to everyone who loves their YA with mystery, romance, and delicious plot twists!

On the shelf in my HS library already.
This was an entertaining, keep you guessing, falling in love story FROM THE START.
Lily hooks you in with her story from the moment you meet her.
Her group of friends (Leo was hands down my favorite) is the best especially when she gains an ally she didn't start out with.
I have been looking for a book to recommend to kids who love Inheritance Games and Outerbanks and this is the one!!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a chance to read and review.

This is such a fun read - I love any book that involves a kind of treasure hunt, and this book had added stakes with an inheritance hidden somewhere in the town. It was entertaining and very dramatic, although I wouldn't necessarily say that it was suspenseful, because it felt very over the top at lot of the time, so I wasn't exactly concerned with the characters' safety, if that makes sense. However, it is fast-paced and twisty, and I was excited to find out what was going to happen in the end. I do wish we'd had more scenes with Lily and her grandmother though, so that the emotional impact of the story hit harder - I found it difficult to connect to the emotions Lily was going through when we barely knew her grandmother.

Loved this book and bought it for my granddaughter. Lily lives with her grandmother, and she always thought she would be the one her grandmother would send to fashion school, but when her grandmother suddenly died, it is her cousin who is being sent, the house she shared with grandmother is closed and Lily is forced to live with her uncle. Lily and a seemingly random group of of teens discover they have a note from grandmother that sets them on a treasure hunt to find the Rosewood family fortune. Good mystery and a little romance. Recommend for young adults. I received an arc from NetGalley and am under no pressure to a positive review.

Lily Rosewood lives a privileged, if lonely life, with her grandmother at Rosewood Manor. But with the sudden death of her grandmother, Lily must learn to trust others. When Iris Rosewood dies, she kicks her family out of her house and leaves them next to nothing. But shortly after the reading of the will, Lily receives a letter and a clue from her grandmother as do 3 other teenagers whom she barely knows. What follows is an intense and dangerous treasure hunt, with the entire gang unsure who they can trust or even what is to be found at the end.
A quick and fun read, I definitely think teens will enjoy this, particularly those who enjoyed books such as The Inheritance Games.

A fun, intriguing, fast-paced mystery. It is sure to Abe a hit with teens who like media like Outer Banks. At times a little over the top, it is nonetheless fun and entertaining.

I love these "games" types books....ESPECIALLY with the "friends to enemies/rivals to lovers" trope. SO DELICIOUS. And the writing was great--keeping the reader hooked till the end.

Lily Rosewood with her gram and always thought she would inherit the family business and wealth one day. Her gram dies and Lily's world is turned upside down. Now she has to solve a variety of games in order to get her inheritance. On top of that, she has to figure who to trust.
This fast pace book keeps the reader along for the games. Ms. Reed had created a fun and twisty tale of what makes family valuable. Highly recommend this title to teens who love a great mystery, a little romance and a quick read. This one reminds one of the Westing Game by Ellen Raskin.
received an ARC ebook from NetGalley and the publisher, Harper Collins, in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book was so great! It was such a fun ride and I could not believe the twists towards the end of the book! They were great and I was not expecting them at all. This book was very fast paced and was a great and exciting read. I loved the hunt for the fortune and all of the riddles and clues.

The blurb for this book had all the staples I was looking for and in the end, I really enjoyed this one! I really like treasure hunts, so I was already sold on the premise. The writing was engaging, the action kept the pages turning, and the characters were likable. I loved the found family vibes from the group and enjoyed watching them come together. The romance was also cute, and I liked how grand the ending ended up being. Dramatic, even (the whole scene at the factory). Thank you for a chance to read this!

Absolutely fantastic! I was so excited to read this book and it did not let me down. A great puzzling mystery with the perfect amount of action and hint of romance thrown in.
Our main character is not perfect but is working on becoming a better person. Tragedy has already struck the family before the book even starts and then wham! Another family member dies. This time, that death leads to a family mystery.
Lily’s growth in the book is beautiful to read through. The other characters make for a well rounded group as well. I loved this ARc so much that I went out and bought the hardcover!
Easily 5 stars and I’m excited to see what else the author comes out with in the future.
Thank you to Net Galley for the chance to read and review this book.

As a total grandma's girl I had to read this. It starts with a party disaster and the death of grandma. Lily then is removed from her grandmother's home and compelled to solve a mystery her grandma set up before she died. What a ride! It is wholesome too. I can't wait to see what Mackenzie Reed writes next.

I didn't realize when I picked this book that it was a YA book. About a quarter of the way through the book I was getting frustrated at how as an older adult, I was not bonding with this story. That's when I realized it was written for a different audience than myself, so bear that in mind in my rating.
Having said that, I have read many YA books that the characters and the story engage me. The premise of The Rosewood Hunt, while farfetched, still sounded interesting. However, I was just never able to care about any of the characters or the outcome of the story. I did like the treasure hunt aspect of the story.
Quite honestly this was a two star for me, but I'm adding a star because I'm old, and not the intended audience for this book. If you are under 25, you may really enjoy this story.
Thank you to NetGalley, the Author and Harper Collins Children's Books for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

unfortunately, i did DNF this book. I was excited to read it, and the premise did hook me, but the protagonist was not very likable to me. I hope to give this book another go in the future, as I feel it deserves a second chance.

When Lily’s beloved grandmother passes away and leaves her with cryptic clues to find the missing family fortune, she finds herself thrust into a hunt alongside three other teens. What feels like a quirky game as a last goodbye from Gram quickly turns deadly as the secret of the missing fortune is revealed and treasure hunters from all over flock to Rosetown to try to find it first. Armed with only a handful of clues, Lily and her new cohorts race across town and against time to find a treasure that will change all their lives—if only they can survive.
The questions start immediately and don’t let up as the story continues. Following along with Lily’s journey as she tries to figure out what her grandmother intended for her is a wild ride filled with twists and turns you don’t always see coming. I found myself quickly falling into the story and on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next.
One of my favorite elements of this story was the found family. The way that these people were thrown together unceremoniously but managed to make the best out of a crazy situation was beautiful. Each of these characters brings their own strength to the table and they are all dealing with big personal issues that give them depth and make you want to know more. While each of the characters wormed their way into my heart, the standout is definitely Quinn—the more I read, the more I felt like she was actually a part of me all along.
While some elements took me completely by surprise, there were other pieces of the story that I felt like I could see coming, though not due to any weak writing by the author. I can’t exactly explain what it was, but there were some plot points that I had certain vibes about and ended up being right.
Even though I spent a lot of time anxious about Lily and company, Reed also sprinkled in a good dose of humor in the story. I found myself actually laughing out loud at certain parts because they were so funny and came so naturally. It’s clear Reed has a deep understanding of her characters and her story because everything flowed seamlessly together. Were some elements a bit more fantastical than others? Yes, but isn’t that why we escape into books?
If this is the kind of story and writing that we can expect from her, I can’t wait to see what comes next!

A character-led mystery for fans of The Inheritance Games and The Hazel Wood, Reed's debut keeps readers at the edge of their seat with twists and turns and characters to fall for from the very first page.
