I really like book. The main female character in this book was fierce and dedicated to her cause. I like the spookiness and the mysterious elements that the author created surrounding the night hunt, the main female, and the main, romantic interest. I did enjoy the growth of the main female character and found that her story was one that stuck with me after I finished reading
3.5 stars, rounded up.
I've been a fan of Alexandra Christo since she put To Kill a Kingdom out so I was stoked for this but for some reason it has sat on my never ending TBR for a while. Maybe it’s because I kept hearing negative reviews, which lowered my expectations, or perhaps I’m just coming out of a slump, but I genuinely had a blast with this! I loved the concepts Christo presented, and I think it’s a fantastic YA read. It’s the kind of story I wish I had when I was younger.
The dynamics and tropes were enjoyable, the romance was decent, and the pacing was quick, with a clear journey for both main characters. The side characters were great too. What’s not to like? I’m definitely excited to check out more of the author’s work! Thank you so much to Feiwel & Friends for providing me with this eARC in exchange for an honest review!
The Night Hunt hit all the highlights for me. It has enemies to lovers,a beautifully wicked story world, snark and banter, secondary characters worth having along for the story, and a crazy twist at the end. Truly enjoyed every minute with this book. A monster who's the last of her kind, a herald who curses her, and an adventure that forces them to work together if they both want to survive and attain their goals. What more do you need?
This book was such a hit for me, and definitely lives up to the beautiful cover. I loved the world building, and the character development. The story flowed very well for me and every element of this book was just wonderful. The world was complex yet easy to grasp, and I think that I will have a few people I can recommend this to.
Alexandra Christo's *The Night Hunt* is a thrilling fantasy that combines dark magic and high-stakes adventure with gripping intensity. Christo’s lush world-building and dynamic characters create a captivating narrative that keeps readers hooked. The novel’s intricate plot and evocative atmosphere make it a standout in the genre.
I have such a good time reading Alexandra Christo's books and this was no exception. This had such a unique premise and it was such a fun one. I really liked the main characters and the plotline.

Absolutely loved the concept, but the execution fell short for me. My favourite part of fantasy novels is finding world-building that's creative and feels lived in. In this book, the world-building felt flat and didn't make sense to me in some regards. The characters were fine, but I don't think they'll stick with me. I did really like the writing style tho, so I plan to try other books by this author.
Overall, might be worth a try, just not a book that worked for me. (Absolutely GORGEOUS cover tho, the artist & designer deserve kudos for that!!)
I expected more from this book but I did enjoy the writing. It felt confusing and did not flow as well as To Kill a Kingdom.

This book gets all the kudos for having a beautiful cover! I will also say this book has beautiful prose. I loved the concept of a monstrous girl and her found family going on a journey. I loved Atia's characterization and she was my favorite part of the book! But I felt like her romance with Silas moved a little bit too fast. There were also some aspects of the world building that fell flat for me. Overall, this was a good YA fantasy if you love monstrous, complicated female characters!
Driven by loneliness, curses, and vengeance Atia, a Nefas or a monster of mischievous skills, sets out on a quest to make her world right again with a family ‘forged in choice.’ Alexandra Christo has built a world of monsters in plain sight who are far less the monsters and more human than those around them. A fun read with stops along several different realms that interweave the magical and the journey we all take to discover our true selves.
No one is more sad than I am that I did not like this. I LOVED To Kill a Kingdom, but the Night Hunt just never worked for me. I was bored for a lot of this. There were so many plot holes and I never understood our main character's motivations because her actions are not very monstrous, which is what I wanted.
thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy. I really enjoyed this and will be getting copies for my shop.
I really wanted to love this book. Unfortunately I just did not connect with the writing style. The characters were great and I'm sure others would enjoy the plot but I could not get past the writing.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for granting me free access to the advanced digital copy of this book.
The Night Hunt is a brilliant book that seems to call into question what is it that makes us monsters, what is it to be holy, and what makes us human. The ideas of monsters versus humanity and the fact that our main monster is one that could be beneficial to humanity, consuming fear, if she doesn't, you know, scare them to death. I'm still not sure how to feel about the order that our leading man is a part of, or how people are punished for terrible things in their lives. This is a great twist on old mythology and Christo does a great job of making this mythology her own.
I adore the enemies to lovers between our Herald and our Monster. Unlikely allies trying to get a cure for what they are both dealing with to be who they were before. Having unlikely allies work together is one of my favorite tropes and I'm glad to have gotten to read it.
3.5 stars. This was an interesting read but it lacked a lot of what I have come to love from Alexandra! However, this was still very fun
This book was another one that I could not finish and that did not engage me well enough. It might be for some, but I need to be captivated and sucked in right away to finish a book.
Super fun and engaging! Absolutely loved the prose and the fast pace plot. The characters were also really interesting and I loved that it was Dual POV :)
It took me longer than I would’ve liked to finish this book, mainly because I couldn’t couldn’t connect to the writing and characters. I really wanted to like this book because the premise seemed really promising but the lack of connection made it difficult for me to fall in love with it.
Thank you to Netgalley and Feiwel and Friends for the ARC
I love this author, I love this title, and I will read anything by this author immediately. So should you. This book was pure YA-fantasy-goodness, with a grumpy, monstrous, fear-hungry FMC. I really liked the FMC, Atia. Her relationship with other characters in this book was what made it so fun to read, because she’s unapologetically herself. The side characters were fun as well! The wordbuilding was also exciting and vivid. The book never felt overwhelming and remained immersive throughout the experience of reading it. Thank you for the ARC!
