Reach your personal potential and create the life you want with this simple creative read. Jon Acuff sprinkles his circumstances and comedic stories throughout his book while delivering a template to achieve goals. Definitely a wonderful story teller outline which felt like advice from my best friend with proven steps to achieve my easiest and most challenging goals. Jon Acuff states in his book, "I point out the fastest paths, share every obstacle to avoid, and reveal the hard-fought lessons so you don't have to fight for them too. Then I put it all in the smallest, simplest invitation I can create, which is usually in the form of a book just like this to make sure you also get to the party". My feeling of stuck has melted away and I have a magnetic desire to accomplish what I feel is important in my life. I feel encouraged and energized with each new concept and I am grateful for the book "All It Takes Is a Goal". Join the party and grab a highlighter!

Jon Acuff has really thought deeply about what it takes to achieve a goal. He has distilled those thoughts into straightforward actions that any one can take and/or adapt to their process. I appreciate his explanations of the goal tiers and the 3 zones. They are fully relatable. A fast read with practical to dos. I'm going to be reading it again as I integrate his recommendations into my life.

As a fan of Jon Acuff’s books, I was excited to read his next one, and Jon has done it again. His tested and practical advice takes goal setting to the next level. His first chapter on creating your best moments list is worth reading alone. As I sat to create my own list, I was amazed at how much I could list and then following the book’s advice, I was able to create a plan to create those best moments over and over. If you’re stuck and can’t seem to move forward in life, you should read this book. If you’re a goal setter, but need directions on which direction to go, you should read this book. If you’re a person who wants to get ahead in life, you should read this book.

I was silently cheering all the way through “All It Takes Is a Goal.” Jon’s principles allow everyone to tailor their goals based on who they are. There is no “my way or the highway” attitude in this approach. I feel seen, I have hope, and I am motivated to do what it takes to turn my wants and needs into reality.

This is such a great roadmap to achieving your goals while giving yourself grace for the twists and turns of the journey. I love Jon's somewhat subtle sarcasm that catches a laugh in my throat at times. Don't worry. The laugh escapes. It will not be held back.
The way Jon walks the goal nerd(aka me) through the tactical steps with imagery keeps the steps easy and will help me actually accomplish moving through the process. Not going to lie. I didn't complete the process the first read through, but I'll be going back, because this book is not just a book. It's a handbook. An actual guide to creating, prioritizing and achieving goals.
No matter what you do in your life, having goals will serve you well. The main reason I have goals is to fight the thinking of never doing enough. I now have a solid 4 months of data that says I do enough, because as Jon says, "Some is better than none."
Perfection isn't the goal. Being kind to myself and helping others along the way is the goal and all of Jon's content along with his books support that. Go follow him and read his books. I think you'll be glad you did.

Jon's book on goals is a revelation. As someone plagued by the Fear Of Better Options, I tend to over-research and procrastinate. Jon's done this for us with his own research, based on thousands of people, resulting in a game-changer approach. He exposed how we sabotage ourselves with distractions and offered practical ways to simplify goal-setting. One of many key takeaways: make "Easy" rewarding. This book is universal in its value and should be read by anyone looking to improve their goal-setting skills. It's transformed my energy and thought process on reaching my potential and serving others and I highly recommend it. Thank you, Jon, for this incredible book!

As a self proclaimed "goal nerd" I am always looking for ways to strengthen my goals. This book is without a doubt the key to doing just that.
With simple tools and explicit examples of what it takes to strengthen your goals this book is just the ticket.
You don't have to be a goal nerd to make use of the tools which makes this book perfect for people who are new to goal setting and of course those who want to take their goals to the next level!

The market is flooded with books on goals, how to 10x, and productivity, but All You Need is a Goal is hands down THE book that will allow you to take an idea from start to finish. This goes well beyond business and productivity by reaching into relationships, health and creating fun in life.  I've adapted the Best Moments List to part of my morning routine by asking myself, "What were some best moments from yesterday?" What a powerful way to launch a day! As always, Jon's humor and transparency make the book fun to read, easily digestible, and easy to see the application in your life.

I'm a huge fan of Jon Acuff, and was thrilled to have a chance to read his newest book. I found the concept of writing down Best Moments (and the many benefits of doing so, recalled throughout the book) to be extremely powerful and also, of course, easy to implement. His practical approach, well-researched topics, and sense of humor make reading his books a joy, and this was no exception. I love all the examples he provides, and am absorbing the excellent suggestion to break down goals into three categories to set yourself up for success - guaranteed success, no less!

The simplest and most practical book on goals I have ever read! Jon’s books are always amazing, but this one is *chef’s kiss*. Every goal hurdle that I have ever encountered is shattered by the easy-as-pie principles. This book is going on my Best Moments List - and will provide the rocket fuel for many more such moments.

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher for allowing me to read the advanced readers copy of All It Takes Is A Goal.

I’m a big fan of self development books but even though I’ve read many in my time, few of the lessons or teachings have ever truly stuck.

Not so here! I loved the writing, so down to earth and felt as though Jon Acuff was speaking directly about me, to me! I felt seen with this book and the relatable examples really helped me to feel as though I could learn from this teachings.

A really good read if you’re looking for a book to help you move towards your goals, whatever they may be!

Author Jon Acuff shares practical and actionable advice around goal setting and completion in his latest book. Jon’s advice stems from research and real life experience. He’s honest about what has worked and not worked, and why, for he and others. His processes and stories are shared with Jon’s signature humor and self deprecating style, making this an easy read. Jon is a self proclaimed goal nerd who has figured out ways to make setting and reaching goals clear and actionable. You might not be an Acuff level goal nerd, but you’ll take away a few ideas to improve your own odds of succeeding with goals.

This is by far my favorite Acuff book. I'm already promoting this one as it had me immediately putting pen to paper and looking forward to challenging myself to finally get working on those goals that I thought were for some other day. He breaks down big, life-altering goals into actions that are realistic regardless of where you are in life. I especially appreciate how he gives real-life examples of situations that most of us see as roadblocks to our growth. I redefined what I consider a goal and finally found encouragement that is louder than my excuses.

The timing of this book is impeccable. For more than two years now I have been beating myself up over the fact that I can't seem to gain traction with my goals. There are things I know I need to do, however haven't been doing them, and now I know why. I've been operating in Chaos mode. Now that I know to start with my Best Moments, then categorize them, I can create the best plan for success with my goals by starting by looking backwards first.
It's been a while since I've been excited about tackling my goals. With Jon's blueprint in hand I only see success in my future.
Thank you for doing the heavy lifting for us all, Jon. I'm sure I am not the only one who needed to hear this message.

The crux of the book can be summarized by this interaction with my son, which happened while I was reading the book. My four-year old was eating strawberries and says, "Dad, this one is too big." I reply, "Then take small bites."

It's no secret that to achieve something big one must do small things repeatedly. But we often try big goals anyway. Jon Acuff argues that we must not attempt to eat the strawberry whole, because we'll choke if we do. Too often we press onward anyway, spitting out the strawberry, fearful of ever trying one again. So we're stuck with failed attempts and destroyed dreams.

But Acuff masterfully breaks down the process to achieve any goal from folding the laundry to writing a book to becoming a world-class chef to eating a big strawberry: easy, middle, and guaranteed goals. Plus a lot of other important stuff. Read the book to find out more. It's worth it, but only if you do the work: read and apply. What good are words without works?

I have been a fan of Jon's for a very long time, and I have even had the pleasure of participating in one of his small group coaching sessions, so I may be just a *touch* biased about his work.

I'm rating this one 4.5 stars, but rounding up because I'm sure that not everyone else out there is quite as familiar with Jon as I am. The information and advice in All It Takes is a Goal is absolutely fantastic; however, if you have followed Jon on social media or listened to his podcast (of the same name) at all, you may find some of the stories and information in this book to be a bit redundant.

That said, there is still much in All It Takes is a Goal that is worthy of a read, and the actionable advice is one of my favorite things about it. Jon is relatable and funny, as always, and the fact that reading his books feel like speaking with a friend vs "some guru guy" doling out unrelatable and unactionable advice is what makes me always rate his books so highly. Well done!

I really enjoyed this book. It was helpful and I’ve used a number of the strategies to make changes. I particularly loved the exercise where you list all your best moments, it’s a great way to reframe your thinking. Will be referring back to this a lot.
