Olivia is back home for the funeral for her very much loved grandfather who after looking into it feels like more then an accident. When clues are leading towards possible murder Olivia looks further into it with deputy detective Huck who broke her heart a while ago.

I like a good mystery book and I really found myself enjoying this one. It was also a quick read for me as well so if you like a mystery that isn't too long but with a lot going for it you'll like. There was a bit of attraction between the Olivia and Huck that was somewhat from the past they once had I appreciate that it didn't completely take over the book because clearly they are out to solve the mystery. I really enjoyed following along as they put things together and seeing how everything came out in the end. Highly Recommend!

I honestly think I've hit the point where I have read every single book by Debra Webb. And she has me hooked as a fan to where I will continue to read every book that she puts out because they are all incredible! This one was full of twists and I loved every one. A good book is one that keeps you guessing, a great book is one that tricks you with red herrings at every turn and leaves you clueless as to who the big bad could be. Debra Webb writes in such a way that she will have you convinced one character is guilty before proving you wrong and having you convinced it's a different character. Only to pull another twist on you and show you you're wrong again. She has a great talent for that and I love it!

I also love a story where the two main characters already know each other from when they were younger, which was the exact case for Huck and Olivia. When her grandfather passes away suddenly, Olivia returns home. But quickly realizes that it wasn't an accident, it was a murder and someone seems to be targeting her as well. And of course, Huck is the responding officer. Because who better than her college sweetheart?

The chemistry between Huck and Olivia was definitely about to combust and he insisted on being around to protect her. Even though Olivia certainly couldn't be considered a shrinking violet. I truly loved this book and couldn't get enough of it. I finished it in one sitting! Trust me, this is one you aren't going to want to miss.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

Huck and Olivia broke up years ago but when Olivia rushes back home after her Grandfathers passing they find out her Grandfathers passing is under suspicion.

This book will take you on a journey of finding love again and answering a lot of questions resulting from suspicious deaths. Lots of mystery and suspense.

Great read!

Terrific book that drew me in from the first chapter and kept me guessing to the end. Olivia was devastated when she received a call telling her that her beloved grandfather Willy was dead. After driving from Montana to Tennessee, she arrived in her hometown only to discover that her grandfather's house had been ransacked. Complicating matters, the deputy detective sent to take the report was Huck Monroe, Olivia's childhood best friend, teen sweetheart, and the man who broke her heart when she was in college.

Huck still feels guilty about how he handled their breakup and doesn't blame her for being angry. But the ransacking of Willy's house adds credence to his and Olivia's belief that Willy's death was no accident, so they call a truce while working to uncover the truth.

I liked watching the rekindling of the relationship between Olivia and Huck. It helped that Huck apologized sincerely and admitted to his mistakes. With the past dealt with, it doesn't take long for the old feelings to revive and grow stronger. Huck's protectiveness is aroused when attacks are aimed at Olivia, and it becomes evident that someone wants her gone. I liked Huck's determination to keep her safe while they investigated. The only problem is keeping their growing feelings from being a distraction.

The suspense was a roller coaster ride of twists, turns, and surprises. As Huck and Olivia delved deeper into Willy's life, unexpected revelations questioned everything she knew about her family. Each clue opened more questions than it answered, bringing in new possibilities for the murderer. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the author threw a twist I didn't see coming. The final confrontation was a nail-biter as Huck and Olivia faced off against an unexpected enemy. The resolution was well done and believable, and answered all their questions.

I liked the ending and seeing Huck and Olivia ready to put the past behind them. I'd love to see more of them in a later book and see their future.

The new suspense book by Debra Webb has everything that I love about suspense. It is fast-paced, filled with false trails and plenty of clues so I could keep guessing my way through the mystery. The main characters are dealing with a former romance gone wrong while they are also trying to solve the mystery of Olivia’s beloved grandfather Willy Ballard. Huck Monroe is a deputy detective assigned to the case, much to Olivia’s dismay since she has a past history with him. I enjoyed all of the twists in the mystery and the romance that was simmering between Olivia and Huck. My favorite thing was that I tried really hard to guess the villain but the author fooled me again with her masterful writing. The characters are well-developed and relatable and the plot is just complex enough to keep me thoroughly engaged. I really did not see that final twist coming and I loved it!

Olivia Ballard left home years ago and hasn't returned because it's too hard to see her ex-- the deputy detective Huck Monroe.Huck broke her heart years ago by walking away without an explanation.

Huck is one of those alpha males who is very hard on himself. He left Olivia years ago for good reason, or so he thought, and now he just really glad to see her again. There's a nice spark between these two characters from the start.

Olivia and Huck become embroiled in solving the murder of Olivia's grandfather, and it turns out that it something to do with Olivia. I really liked the second half of the book where the murder mystery takes center stage. The spark between Olivia and Huck dims and brightens but since this is romance, you know how it's going to end!

Murder at Sunset Rock is a suspenseful romantic story. I thought it was a bit slow at the start, but I become more interested in the characters and what was going on as the action increased in the second half. I found it easy to read and just the right size for an few evenings. I will be looking more from the Lookout Mountain Mysteries series.

This rollercoaster of suspense and surprise ensures that the pace never falters, and the tension remains high throughout the novel.

In conclusion, "Murder at Sunset Rock" is an enthralling read that will satisfy both mystery enthusiasts and fans of psychological thrillers. Murder at Sunset Rock by Debra Webb.

This was a fast paced murder mystery romance that can be read as a standalone.

Olivia returns home after her grandfather's accidental death only to find some things that would suggest his death might not have been as accidental as originally thought. Couple that with finding out that her ex has moved back into town and is the officer working the case.
Emotions are high in this one and the twists are plentiful. Great book.

Another good book by Debra Webb! Olivia Ballard returns home for her grandfather’s funeral only to discover it was a possible murder instead! She must work with a local deputy detective who broke her heart ten years ago to solve the mystery. Very intriguing and heart wrenching but decisions must be made to find forgiveness.

When Olivia returns to her home town, devastated after her beloved grandfather’s death, she begins to question whether his death was accidental as determined, or something more sinister. Working with her former high school sweetheart Huck, now a deputy sheriff, they uncover evidence that all may not be what it appears.

This was a mostly clean, fast paced mystery read. High on mystery and action, low on romance. I absolutely felt bad for what Olivia went through her entire life, losing her mother at age 3. Good solid book.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

Murder at Sunset Rock is a murder mystery set in the Mountains of Tennessee.

Olivia has returned home after learning her beloved grandfather "Willy" had died. He is the last remaining member of her family. Her Mother died when she was a toddler, her father disappeared shortly before that. Raised by her grandparents, Olivia has been close to Willy ever since leaving home for college and then her career as a geologist. Once she arrives home, she enters the house and finds it ransacked, as well at the shed which was her grandmother's painting area and where Willy kept all of his photographing equipment. Calling the Sherriff to alert him of the break-in, he sends a deputy to take the report. Olivia is in shock when Huck Monroe, as the responding deputy and her former love arrives.

Olivia is being traumatized by the continued attacks at her home. Huck stays by her side to solve the mystery of Willy's death that was supposed to be an accident.

This was a fantastic mystery. I really enjoyed the writing style. It is rich with a very descriptive writing style that draws the reader in so they can view the scene. I really enjoyed the story even though I suspected who the murderer was from the beginning. But there were a few twists along the way that were nice surprises.

Thank you NetGalley and Debra Webb for the ARC of Murder at Sunset Rock by Debra Webb that I read and reviewed.
Debra Webb does it again! This book drove me nuts trying to figure out who the killer was. I was convinced I had it figured it I was getting pretty cocky and smug, then I changed my mind and I was really happy with my second guess and knew I had it nailed this time, but true to her sneaky self Webb threw a curve ball I did not see coming and the killer was not even on my radar. I love it! Oh and the reason for the why they did it was totally twisted. Great job throwing a great mystery and a twisted killer with a sick mind in this book.
This was a great book with a lot of twist and some romance thrown in to add some spice as well. Murder at Sunset Rock gets five out of five stars from me!

Upon learning of the death of her beloved grandfather, William “Willy”, in a tragic fall, Olivia returns to Tennessee. However, as other things start to happen, it appears that it might not have been an accident after all. But ho would have wanted to harm Willy? He was loved by everyone who knew him.

And Olivia’s life is now in danger. It’s a good thing she has her former teenage love, Huck, to keep her safe. Huck broke her heart years ago when she was in college. He never gave her a reason and she still hasn’t forgotten or forgiven him. But she finds that she needs him.

Loss, tragedy, lies, deceit, heartbreak, and more! Can Olivia and Huck figure out what happened and why, and can they rebuild their trust and friendship, and maybe even more?

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A second chance murder mystery romance. I enjoyed these characters and the paths they took away from each other and through the murders mystery. I was kept guessing for a good portion of the book. It was almost a clean romance. There was touch of steam for a couple lines, but that was it.

Murder At Sunset Rock. This is a crime stopper that had me gripped to the fast pace action that transpires in the story. Yes the love story between Huck and Olivia was the forefront of the book, but it was the twist and turns of uncovering the story of Olivia’s parents that moved the book. Needless to say the plot was fantastic. The plot was believable and shared enough realism to keep the story moving.
I was very pleased with the romance that slowly reared its grip into the two characters of Huck and Olivia. That was simply marvelous. How the writer had the characters give their own perspectives about their relationship of how it was very good and how it ended, gave me the reader a clear picture about the characters feelings. I was absolutely pleased as punch when Olivia woke up and said, EFF this! And grabbed Huck by the collar and gave him a kiss that he couldn’t come back from. My favorite character is Huck.
He maintained his patience and he kept a level head about everything. He also knew to stay out of Olivia’s way when she was on a mission. I loved the entertainment and the number of guesses I had about who was culprit in this story. I give this book two snaps and a twist. Until next time my fellow readers… read on!
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Debra Webb has fast become one of my favorite authors. I first became aware of Debra Webb through her Finley O'Sullivan series and it is my favorite of hers! Murder at Sunset Rock did not disappoint and had me guessing to the end. You just can't go wrong with a Debra Webb book I highly recommend her.

As an avid Intrigue reader, I always love to see what Debra Webb has up her sleeve for us with each no book and she did not disappoint with Murder at Sunset Rock! While I normally have an inkling of how it will end, I only had this one half figured out, so kudos to Ms. Webb for stumping a seasoned intrigue reader!

Olivia has returned home to Tennessee when she learns the news that her beloved grandfather, Willy, was killed while hiking. It isn't until she arrives at his property that she realizes it wasn't an accident. Things only get worse when her teenage love, Huck Monroe, darkens her doorstep as the responding deputy.

Huck Monroe had just lost the man he had always looked to as a second father, and that could only mean one thing--Olivia Monroe was headed back to town. Huck regretted his decision when they were in college to disappear from Olivia's life, but never more than the moment he puts eyes on her again. She has grown into a beautiful woman, and he hasn't outgrown his love for her.

When it becomes clear that Olivia isn't safe, Huck insists they're going to solve her grandfather's murder together. With so much left unsaid between them, can they put it aside long enough to keep Olivia safe and track down a killer leaving too many bodies in their wake?

Don't miss Murder at Sunset Rock! It's a thrilling mystery and a sweet second-chance love story you can't put down!
