This fantasy starts when twelve-year-old fairy Canary (Ary) Mossheart’s papa was taken by the mold. Her grandmother is a former-chosen-one could not find a cure.
Now Ary must save her mother.
She and her misfit group of friends set out to save the world. They explore the Underground where creepy crawlies and other bugs live.

This story is will make you angry yet is heartbreakingly tender; it is an exploration of bravery and what it means to inherit a dying world from the ones who were meant to protect us.

I am not the target audience for this story (as a Guidance Counselor I have always enjoyed reading and find when I read stories for Middle Schoolers, I have a fun way to relate to many students. I often talk about books and offer suggestions.) Have to admit at times it was difficult for me to listen to some parts but I am sure a twelve year old will absolutely love it.
