kira has two options: marry someone she doesn’t know so that she can receive her inheritance, or go back to her abusive father for help. when she realizes grayson can’t get a loan for his dead father’s dying vineyard, she figures that the two can help each other out. while their marriage is fake, though, neither can deny the real attraction that starts setting in.
after reading (and, of course, loving), archer’s voice, i’ve been wanting to read more from mia sheridan. marriage of convenience is a trope i typically tend to enjoy, so i was excited to start this book.
i really enjoyed how everything played out in this book. kira’s never really felt at home anywhere, but as she spends time at the vineyard and around those who work there, you can tell she starts to feel much more at ease. i also loved how she was able to break away from those who hurt her in the past, and how grayson was able to accept that maybe his vow needed some amending.
my only complaint is that it was sometimes hard to believe grayson actually liked kira. sure, he was attracted to her, but sometimes it felt like that was it. normally in dual pov books it’s the opposite and readers can clearly tell that the mmc likes the fmc, so it caught me off-guard that this wasn’t really the case for this book. this did get better at the end of the book, though.

Thank you NetGalley and Bloom Books for this arc.
To start off, I really didn’t think I would like this book as much as I did. I found the beginning tiresome and boring, to be frank.
However.. as things progressed, I found that the characters were really great. And by characters I mean Charlotte and Walter…. Just kidding… sort of.
Kira and Grayson’s storyline was pretty obvious at times, but boy was there some plot twisting at the end. So thankful they both have such great people in their lives to prove to them both that blood does not define family.

Kira has almost no money left and is contemplating sleeping in her car, when she runs across Grayson who is also having financial trouble. Kira's gram left her a sizable inheritance, but the kicker is she has to be married to inherit. The two agree to a marriage of convenience in order to obtain the inheritance and will then split the money. Being thrown together in this situation has them clashing with each other at every turn, but the sparks start flying and the feelings start developing. Their pasts come back to haunt them and neither of them is sure they can power through it all, or if they are better off keeping everything as a business arrangement.
I overall, liked this novel. The angst was really on point, and I did appreciate how they learned to put their initial judgements of each other aside and started to actually get to know each other. My biggest issue, was honestly Grayson's horridness every time he thought he knew what was happening. I get that you jump to conclusions based off of your observations, but he was super hateful with his words and I feel like Kira was way too forgiving.
Overall, not bad, will totally read more from this author.

What a rollercoaster of a relationship between Grayson Hawthorn and Kira Dallaire! The obvious trope? Enemies to lovers, although, I use that lightly because it’s evident that there’s a physical attraction toward one another. Grayson becomes sexually infatuated with Kira, sometimes bordering disgust and weird (in my opinion) because he seems to always think of ways of getting Kira into bed. I did eye roll a few times and hated the nicknames they had for each other, but those nicknames eventually grew on me. Sheridan did manage to get me choked up at a specific part of the book, which definitely shows that I was invested in some characters.
Toward the middle to end of the book, I consumed the book in Lightning speed because there was so much emotion and drama unfolding that had my eyes glue to each word. I’ve never read a book by Mia Sheridan but have had Archer’s Voice on my TBR for some time. So, the fact that I got to read Grayson’s Vow through NetGalley was pretty amazing. I also found that I want to read more by her, so Archer’s Voice is getting bumped up.
As far as spice level here? 🌶️🌶️/5
Personally speaking, I don’t need five of those peppers to say this was such a good read. Highly recommend!

I loved Archer’s voice so naturally I now want to read all of Mia Sheridan’s books! Grayson’s vow was a story about how beautiful it can be to trust others and believe in love. Grayson had a rough relationship with his father and in turn had a hard time letting his walls down. This story was truly a heartbreaking situation with a beautiful ending. Thank you to Bloom Books for gifting me an ARC.

Thank you netgalley and Bloom books for an earc of Grayson’s Vow
Mia Sheridan has an addictive writing style. I cannot put the book down. I am able to fly through her words like no other. I really also loved the marriage of convenience trope. That has to be one of my favorites to read about, so I was thrilled when I saw that it was used. On the other hand while I was thrilled about that, I was less than thrilled that so much of the conflict within this story was caused by the main couple hiding so much from eachother. It was exhausting watching everything blow up because something slipped and they refused to communicate about it like adults.
Starting off, I really loved Kira. I think she is so resilient and has taught herself to make the best of the situation she was thrown into. I really love her decision making process and the way she carries herself. I love how she tried to take control of her life and leave behind a controlling and corrupt family. She was my favorite part of this book.
Now Grayson, I don’t know what it is about him, I really wanted to love him but I just had a really hard time. This man has been through it. He has been resented his whole life for things out of his control and finally is working towards something that he thinks might redeem himself. This man is so impulsive and it drove me mad. I understand what he was going through but it really hurt to see him hurt people who want to be there for him just to wallow. I also got really weirded out by him when Kira was sick with a fever and said “I wiped cool cloths on Kira's neck and upper chest, shaking to control the urge to roll on top of her and take her, unconscious with fever or not. I had to relieve myself four times alone in the bathroom just to function enough to care for the little witch.” I really with with the republishing someone took out this weird scene. I absolutely hated reading that. Maybe it’s just me, but I hated that.
I enjoyed this story enough, I loved the plot, but I don’t think I enjoyed grayson’s character enough to love this story unfortunately.

NetGalley Review -- my rating 5/5 stars!
Mia Sheridan does it again with this gut-wrenching story about Kira and Grayson, the most unlikely pair. When Kira is down on her luck and in desperate need of her Gram's trust, she comes up with an idea....
Queue Grayson. He's also down on his luck after being released from a 5 year stint in prison and dealing with a failing vineyard. Kira approaches him and springs the idea of an "arranged marriage" where they will split the trust...if they can just survive being married to each other for a year.
Sheridan simply writes characters that you cannot help but fall in love with and root for. I especially love enemies to lovers tropes, and it looks as though I might like forced marriage tropes as well. Even the secondary characters were so loveable (or despicable, if necessary) and you can't help but fall right into the story.
Thank you to Bloom Books for the ARC! Grayson's Vow by Mia Sheridan will be out next week, July 4, 2023! Don't sleep on it!

Grayson's Vow by Mia Sheridan another great book. I haven't read a storyline by this author that I haven't enjoyed. From start to finish they just pull me in with the characters, dialogue and just everything. I can't wait to read more books by the author.

COMMENTS/NOTES: Sheridan's books are always emotional reads. They make you think about love, loss, and sacrifice.
**Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC. I voluntarily give my honest review and all opinions are my own.**

The reason for this rating isn't because of bad writing or anything, this type of romance books just aren't really my cup of tea. I think Mia Sheridan did an amazing job and this is mostly just a matter of personal preferences
I honestly think the book is really good, but as I said, this type of steamy romance built on a lot of sexual tension just isn't really up my alley. I did enjoy the plot and seeing them falling in love warmed my heart, but this book had a lot of mention of trauma and a lot of emotional baggage. I just want to make it clear that this isn't a bad book, just not the right type of book for me.
However, I do have a couple of gripes with this. Mainly the characters, because sometimes they're just really obnoxious. They'd complain about the other sending mixed messages when they're doing it themselves. Some of the misunderstandings were childish and could've been easily resolved by talking to each other. And some of them [INCLUDING A CHARACTER WE'RE SUPPOSED TO LIKE] did some very questionable and problematic things...
***SPOILERS
-she slipped drugs into grayson's drink that almost made him rape an unconscious and very sick kira so like what the actual fuck isn't she supposed to be like his mother figure?? that's just really fucking gross and disturbing and JUST FUCKING WEIRD
SPOILERS OVER
Anyway, it was a pretty decent read and I did enjoy most of it.

Honest rating would be 3.5 stars rounding up to 4 for unlocking new f**kit list item though, so thank you Mia Sheridan for that inspiration. What drops this one down in ratings for me which hurts to say because I have fallen in love with this author's work was too much miscommunication between Kira and Grayson. Especially when it lead Grayson to say some very awful and hurtful things to Kira and he did not grovel or apologize enough for my liking to make up for his heinous actions. Also didn't connect and care about the supporting characters as much as I have in previous books. Overall glad to have read Grayson's Vow and did like it, this just won't be a re-read except for that one scene.

Thank you to NetGalley for my ARC of Grayson’s Vow.
Let me start by saying I adored Archer’s Voice. I loved it. But Grayson’s Vow was not on the same level. Maybe I had the bar set too high.
Kira has fallen onto some hard times after being estranged from her father.
After visiting the bank, and receiving some disappointing news, she sees Grayson and eavesdrops on the conversation he is having with the banker.
Kira comes up with a plan to help them both, and delivers her idea by going straight to Grayson’s family’s vineyard.
The characters were just not likable for me. Kira was weird. Not even just quirky, cute kinda weird. Just…strange. Dancing on tractors and climbing trees was just awkward and immature. The rat family was pretty silly, though.
Grayson, I suppose I could understand why he was the way that he was.
I couldn’t get over the love/hate, love/hate, love/hate…again and again and again. I couldn’t get behind it the tumultuous relationship.
I thought it was strange that people just randomly showed up for employment at the vineyard.
Charlotte was ok, but she was weird too. Who does that to a cake?!? Or cookies or whatever she put her concoction in.
Overall, it wasn’t bad, but not my favorite.

Grayson’s Vow is a marriage of convenience story but also ultimately a story of two people who have never been loved for themselves learning to let someone in, to love and be loved in return.
Grayson and Kira are both in desperate need of money. Grayson to keep his family vineyard running, and Kira for her freedom from her father. When Kira approaches Grayson about a scheme to access some inheritance money through marriage he is wary but ultimately agrees as it’s seems like an easy way to dig himself out of his financial difficulties. Marriage to Kira, real or not, turn out to not be so easy and the two behind to get under each others skin in ways they didn’t see coming.
Mia Sheridan sure knows how to pull on the emotional heartstrings and Grayson’s Vow is no exception. How do we learn to love when those who were supposed to love us unconditionally never did? How do we learn to love and trust when we’ve only been used as pawns in loved ones games?
With its wonderfully cast of supporting characters and heartwarming ending, Grayson’s Vow was a 4 star read for me.

If you love Mia Sheridan’s book, you’re going to love Grayson’s Vow.
To escape from her father, Kira have to get married to access her inheritance her grandmother left her. She’s not the only one who struggles, Grayson’s too. So she asked him to marry her and split the money.
Family’s secret, difficult childhood and love story.
I loved Kira’s personality! She’s strong, loving and so funny. And Grayson is so much more than he lets people know.
I cried and laughed, loved this book !

I’ve really been enjoying reading through Mia Sheridan’s backlist but unfortunately this one wasn’t my favorite. It’s not that I think it’s bad, it just screams 2015. It doesn’t feel right to me for a 2023 audience.
I do love a marriage of convenience romance so there were definitely some parts to this I enjoyed, but the outdated feeling parts were stronger. I think the modern romance reader demands a little more respect for the heroine, at least outside of the specific areas of romance that lend themselves to a more demeaning hero (dark romance, mafia), and the hero here just wasn’t respectful in any capacity (he repeatedly calls her a witch, he goes home with another woman on their wedding night, etc).
Overall it wasn’t terrible, it’s just not a favorite and at least it’s good to see how Mia Sheridan has grown as an author in her more modern works.

Mia has such a beautiful gift for writing imperfect, broken peop!e and their healing journeys.
"My little witch". "My dragon"
It took me a while to be won over by Grayson and truly root for him but once the story picked up I was swooning.
Found family
Forced proximity
Marriage of convenience
Self healing
Winery setting

Thank you to Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Blooms Books for this ARC.
Grayson's vow is such a really good book. I really enjoyed the characters and the storyline. I liked how complicated and closed off Grayson was and that Kira had her own issues. And that epilogue...it was everything I wanted for them.

I really wanted to like this book. I loved the premise and how the book started. However while I felt like I could connect to Kira, I did not really feel that way about Grayson. I also just didn’t see a ton of chemistry between the two of them. I loved the epilogue, but to me that felt like a different guy than the rest of the novel. I did really enjoy the whole vineyard setting.
Overall, I liked the storyline but didn’t love one of the main characters.

Mia never disappoints.... even when she shreds my heart into tiny little bits. Somehow, she always finds a way to knit me back together and leave me wanting more. Grayson's Vow broke me, and I can't recommend it enough!

I say this every time I read a Mia Sheridan book, wow!
What do you do when you're down on your luck and the only way to get your inheritance is to be married? Ask a man you don't know to get married and split the money. That is exactly what Kira Dallaire does. The groom you may ask? Grayson Hawthorn, owner of a failing winery, that needs the money just as bad as Kira does. When you throw two people together and they spend day after day together, what may have started as a business contract, just may turn into something more. Heartache, lies and romance may be a messy combination, but they may just add up to a happily ever after in the end.
This is one book you do not want to miss out on. Must read!
