I loved this one! Kira proposes a marriage of convenience to Grayson after running into him at the bank. She overheard him trying to get a loan for his vineyard, but was declined. Kira is struggling to make ends meet as well. Her grandmother left her an inheritance, but it can only be given after she gets married. Grayson agrees to the marriage because he needs it to save his business.

Tropes include: marriage of convenience, grumpy/sunshine

Marriage of convenience has become one of my favorite tropes to read. Anytime the hero says my wife I swoon. It gets me in all the feels.

Grayson is such a grump towards Kira, but once you find out about his childhood you hurt for him. Same thing with Kira. I felt so bad with how her dad was controlling and manipulative. I loved how even though they were both similar Kira knew how to comfort Grayson and have him open up to her. Highly recommend!

Mia Sheridan does it again! As you all know earlier this year I fell in love with Archer’s voice and from then Miss Mia became an auto buy author for me! I went on to read 6 more of her books! None of them disappointed!

Grayson’s Vow was great! Kira and Grayson were perfection! The banter, the tension, the slow burn! **Chefs kiss** So good!!!

The character development is exceptional, Mia brings Kira and Grayson to life with their unique struggles and vulnerabilities. The emotional depth and authenticity of their journey make them relatable and endearing. The slow-burn romance between them is beautifully depicted, building up the tension and allowing us to savor each moment of their evolving relationship.

Grayson's Vow delves into themes of forgiveness, healing, and the importance of second chances. The author tackles these topics with sensitivity and delivers a heartfelt message about the transformative power of love.

I recommend this book if you are a fan of Mia Sheridan and if you love the tropes listed above!

Kira Dallaire is desperate to escape her manipulative father's clutches, but she's down to very little money and can't access the inheritance her grandmother left her for eight more years... unless she's married. When she overhears Grayson Hawthorn getting denied for a loan to revive his family vineyard, she proposes a plan, literally. Marry her for a year and receive half the money. But she never imagined how much they would clash, or how those sparks would ignite feelings far deeper than she's ever felt.
Grayson spent his whole life feeling unworthy, so when his father left him the vineyard he vowed to bring it back to life. But that requires money and as a convicted felon, he'll never get a loan. When Kira proposes, he's suspicious of her motivations and her presence in his life causes disruption and chaos. But soon he's drawn to her sunny personality but afraid to admit his true feelings. And when a long buried secret comes to light, it will make him question everything.
I love how these two broken souls came together. Kira had every reason to give up, but chose to stay positive while Grayson just felt unworthy of love and afraid to trust. It was interesting to see the development of his character and how Kira taught him to build new memories over the awful ones in his past.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Last year I fell in love with Archer's Voice and I read Travis earlier this year. So when I saw Grayson's Vow and marriage of convenience I absolutely couldn't wait to dive into this book. There were some very lovable characters in this book but the depth was lacking. Storylines felt added and rushed just for some addition drama. These two constantly make choices that hurt each other and have the hardest time just communicating with each other. I wanted to love this book but it was just okay for me.

Wow. All I can say is wow. This book was absolutely amazing and I finished it in about 5 hours, staying up until 2 am because I couldn’t put the book down.

After reading Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan, I was concerned about reading another book by her. (If you want to know how I felt about Archer’s Voice, check out the blog post for it!) But this book was so amazing and it blew me away. I think this book also showed me that just because you don’t like one book by a certain author, doesn’t mean that you won’t like the rest.

I loved the setting, plot, trope, and all of the characters in the book. There were definitely some communication problems between Grayson and Kira but I can forgive it because of how amazing the rest of the book was.

I almost didn’t give it 5 stars for the sole reason that I kept wondering when the book was going to end toward the last fourth of the book. I kept thinking that it didn’t need to keep going because everything seemed to be wrapped up already. But boy, was I wrong. There were so many other things that needed to be wrapped up before the book ended that I didn’t even realize. But I’m so glad that Mia Sheridan tied everything up with a bow and there weren’t any loose ends.

I highly recommend reading this book!

Just meh for me and a DNF. Too much repetition for my liking, one of those where were thrown the same 'cute nicknames' no stop, and they don't make a lot of sense to me either. Maybe it would all tie together if I finished the book.
I think I'll try again another time, I also wasn't really in the romance mindset. Fake dating isn't my favorite trope but I do like an enemies to lovers.

When I saw a Mia Sheridan book available for review on Netgalley, I jumped at the chance!

Welp, jumping wasn’t necessary. Lol It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t what I was expecting after I loved Archer’s Voice.

What I liked ❤️:
•Marriage of convenience and enemies to lovers
•Dual POV
•A bit of spice
•The epilogue was really sweet!

What I didn’t love 🖤:
•It felt like a soap opera. Very dramatic. A bit cheesy.
•I wanted more banter, more tension between our two MC’s. That is what makes enemies to lovers work for me.

Thank you @netgalley and @read_bloom for my advanced copy.

Grayson’s Vow is available tomorrow!

4.5 out of 5 stars

I'm going to convince you to read this book in 2 quotes:

"And by the way, my dear," Charlotte said, resting her hand on mine on the counter, a glint in her eyes, "forget the prince and princess. I always imagined the most interesting story was between the witch and the dragon."

"And sometimes we'll meet halfway, but other times, I'll come to you. And I'll try my very best to put my pride aside so I know when I need to be the one to do that."

Mia has done it again. If I"m being honest, I was nervous in the beginning because Grayson was something else. But I should have known my girl Mia was not going to let me down. This is my third Mia Sheridan book, and I am amazed at the depth that she has as an author. The first two books I read of hers were Archer's Voice and Bad Mother. Two VERY different but equally amazing reads. I will forever read anything that has her name on it.

This gave me Beauty and the Beast vibes but with an edge and I devoured it in a day. All of the characters were so loveable (even Grayson after a certain point). I especially loved Kira, Charlotte, Virgil, Harley, and the puppy, Sugar Pie. Kira is feisty and strong-willed, but also one of those personalities that brings so much sunshine to those around her despite what she's been through and you can't help but root for her.

For fans of:
- marriage of convenience
- grumpy sunshine
- dual POV (my favorite)
- winery setting
- enemies to lovers
- found family

Any book that leaves me with tears is a book I'd recommend!

My review for this will be posted to my instagram, @ReadingWithTrey on Tuesday, July 4 and on Goodreads on Monday, July 3. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book!

I am an avid fan of Mia Sheridan's books, and I'm constantly impressed by the range of emotions they evoke and the different stories she tells. Each book feels like a unique and epic journey that I never can let go.

Starting a Mia Sheridan book can be daunting because you never know what to expect, but you can always count on a different perspective than what you are used to. I mentally prepare myself before diving into her works, knowing that they will likely tug at my heartstrings and leave me in tears. I love it, though. Never stop.

Grayson's Vow was light-hearted and adorable atmosphere, which I loved and very different than her normal take.

The story revolves around Kira, who finds herself in a challenging situation, financially broke after returning to the States. Despite her father's ability to take care of her, she would rather be homeless than ask him for money. Grayson, an ex-convict and struggling winery owner, desperately needs funds to save his business. In a twist of fate, Kira proposes a solution: a temporary marriage that will benefit them both.

I always love a good marriage of convenience and Kira quickly won me over with her strong personality - I want to be a Kira when I grow up. Her determination to avoid her father's assistance hit a little too close to home with me. I was amazed to see her handle whatever challenges Grayson threw at her and envied that ability really. But also, we LOVE some pining. Grayson, though a tough hero with a troubled past, sometimes made it hard for me to warm up to him.

I will forever love Sheridan's exceptional character development. She provides extensive history for the main characters and focuses solely on them - allowing readers to relate with their pain and struggles more than any other author I've experience.

Grayson's Vow is a must-read for those who LOVE Mia's writing. However, if you're considering her for the first time, this is GREAT jumping off point and very different than Archer's Voice.

LOVE LOVE LOVE. Can't wait to read more from her.

DNF @50%

This is my 4th book by Mia Sheridan and unfortunately my first DNF for her. I love a good marriage of convenience book. But I just couldn’t get into this one. The characters weren’t loveable and the pacing was way too slow.

I didn’t love Kira. I was intrigued by what she had suffered at the hands of her father and what he had done to Grayson. I also wanted to know more about her charity work but it just took king to get anywhere. I can’t say that I’m a terribly patient person but it just took too long to get any information and I stopped caring. But once she gifted her husband a dog that she named Sugar Pie, I was done.

The more I got to know Grayson, the less I liked him. He was a womanizing sleazebag who made snap judgements about Kira. I seriously couldn’t get over how he treated her. I didn’t expect them to fall in love right away but I also didn’t expect him to be such a pig. I was honestly disgusted at how quickly he went from wanting nothing to do with Kira, to only wanting to get into her pants with zero thought about what she might want.

I have loved the other books by Mia that I’ve read so I’m definitely not giving up on her. But this one was a no for me.

I’ve loved Mia Sheridan’s writing since I found her in January, but I’ve come to realize I enjoy her newer writing much more than her older style. I struggled to get into this book due to the writing and the characters. The nicknames alone almost made me DNF the book, I felt like some scenes were unnecessary and some scenes that could have been beautiful weren’t included.

This trope is one of my favorites, but this book just missed the mark.

Grayson’s Vow is Mia Sheridan at her best! This story of a marriage of convenience to help each other out to get their mutual goals and falling in love in the process was so sweet.

They have know each other for years but when they both need help and decide hey let’s get married, split the money and go our own ways afterwards it sounds like a fool proof plan but one thing I love about faking dating is how that’s never the case. I loved seeing them fall in love slowly with little moments. You can see the progression of going from strangers, friends and to reluctantly falling for each other and realizing it’s love and they want to stay together.

One thing mia Sheridan does always so well is how it’s a slow burn, the sweetness, the angst, a little hurts so good. It’s one of my favorite things about her as an author and this book was no different, I loved it so much. It was sweet, angsty, romantic, emotional in parts but you always get a happy ending and you should really read Grayson’s vow if you haven’t. It’s so good.

After reading other books by this author I was all over this one! When I got approved I could be heard across my house squealing. It was rather dramatic.

Compared to Sheridan’s other books this was a slow start up. So slow I nearly gave up on it for lack of connection. But I implore you to stick with it, it’s worth it I swear.

Grayson and Kira start as a marriage of convenience and motives are questioned and questionable indeed. But over time it truly does become something beautiful to witness.

This is so close to being a realistic view on relationship and the way they progress that it redeemed the slow pacing.

Thank you Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for this e-arc read in exchange for my review.

I had read another book by this author and enjoyed it and the blurb really intrigued me so I was excited to get approved for this!

Unfortunately, I struggled to get into it, definitely a slower start. I had a hard time connecting with the characters, I just didn’t feel the chemistry I was hoping to from them. The storyline was good, I just felt like it was missing something and it fell a bit flat for me. I will be trying more from this author I think that this book just wasn’t for me!

Thank you to Netgalley and Bloom for the ARC!

There was something unique and beautiful about this story. The setting of the vineyard and the grounds surrounding Grayson’s home was almost timeless.  This is a modern romance, but it felt almost like it could take place in another era.

I loved this story and honestly, didn’t want to put it down. There was angst and tension between these two characters.  They were constantly fighting their feelings for each other and reminding themselves that they only married for money.   The frustration between the two was something I could feel.

Grayson was a character with many layers.  He could frustrate me, ok, there were times his actions angered me, but I was so drawn to him.  He is a complicated man, with a tortured past.  He is gruff and acts like he doesn’t care, but you see glimpses of the kind and caring man that he is.  Kara has faced a traumatic past herself and is keeping secret from Grayson, but she was so optimistic and bubbly. Honestly, I found myself laughing and smiling at the things she said.  She brought life into Grayson and everyone at the vineyard’s life.

Written in first person, dual POV you get both Kira and Grayson’s story and I loved every bit of it.  The book was emotional and addressed tough subjects but had this lighthearted edge to it.  The banter between these two grumpy/sunshine characters was some of the best.  I found myself laughing out loud at some of the things they said to each other.  Sometimes cheesy, but mostly entertaining I found myself completely enraptured by the story and writing.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

These main characters told an interesting story - they had many similarities in their pasts, yet those created completely different outcomes. It shows how small differences, and the way we choose to deal with them, can have a huge impact on our lives.

Neither really had the support and love from their families that they deserved, but both thankfully had found others that were there for them.

I adored Kira, she was such a lovely heroine. Even though she grew up in wealth and privilege, she was a genuinely good person who wanted to help others.
Grayson was a tough hero to like, and unfortunately I couldn’t fully get over all his toxic behaviour. I understood that he has a ton of trauma that resulted in the man he is in the present, but I’m not sure I fully wanted Kira to forgive him.

What you’ll find in Grayson’s Vow:
💍 Marriage of convenience
💍 Forced proximity
💍 Enemies to lovers
💍 Grumpy sunshine
💍 Found family
💍 Winery setting
💍 An adorable pup
💍 Slow burn
💍 Dual POV/first person

*definitely some triggers in there, make sure to check warnings - child abuse, emotional abuse, animal death

Thank you to NetGalley and Bloom Books for an advanced review copy. All opinions are my own.

DISCLAIMER : i’m in a reading slump

I really liked this book at first, the entire witch and dragon banter was so funny and the tension was incredible. However the more I was reading the less I was interested in the relationship. I mostly feel like it’s way too long and the third act break up pissed me off because of the many things the character already went through.

Grayson and Kira’s marriage was a marriage of convenience. This was an interesting book. Grayson didn’t exactly trust Kira’s intentions at first and I understood. The dad dynamic was also interesting. I thought this was a good read.

Although slow to start, "Grayson's Vow" was an emotionally turbulent read. Grayson is struggling to restore his family's winery due to his felony record and the lack of financial resources that go with that. He meets Kira, who is struggling as well. She wants to be independent without her controlling father involved in her life. She needs access to her trust fund but must be married to do that. She proposes a business arrangement with Grayson--a marriage of convenience -- that will benefit both of them financially. Grayson and Kira don't anticipate that they are gaining more than just money out of their arrangement. They had misunderstandings and emotions scattered everywhere, but ultimately "Grayson's Vow" pulled together for me at the end.

A complicated marriage of convenience...

Mia Sheridan delivers a complicated marriage of convenience in Grayson's Vow.
She does tortured heroes so very well. Grayson is a felon and can't get a loan.
Kira is desperate, too. But with one little marriage, she can save herself and get access to money.
I really liked that Grayson struggles with his self worth (not much) and carries an enormous chip on his shoulder.
