Loved this book , such a great story , read book 1 and 2 straight after , so well written and the main characters were really interesting, I loved the way the story unfolded and followed through in both books . Will definitely be looking to read more by this author . Really highly recommend this addictive read. .
The second Sally Fairborn mystery finds her investigating when a neighbor thinks she is being poisoned by her husband. A year after the events of book one, Sally thinks she is finally moving on - she has a job at a bookstore, and her son seems to be doing ok. Then her neighbor Carolyn comes to Sally asking for help because she thinks her husband is poisoning her. Sally isn’t sure, but before she can really investigate, Carolyn dies mysteriously. It turns out to be poison and Sally is immediately suspicious of the husband. Meanwhile, Sally is also dealing with notes and calls from the person she recently sent to jail claiming they can help her. Can she trust this person?
Another great mystery! I’m really enjoying this series. I think it has good pacing and good clues. I’m curious to see where Sally’s relationship with the culprit from book 1 is going to go and if there will be a romance plot for Sally with the detective. The one thing I thought was not believable here was that Sally, seemingly intelligent, kept believing the stalker had to have a beard and certain hair. I think she would be smart enough to realize he could shave, wear a wig, etc. besides that, another good book is this series!
I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Number two in the Sally Fairburn series and another enjoyable read.
Having just finished number two I was expecting a different story, especially in the subplot, but that seems to be left for another day, but in no way was this a letdown. A gripping main plot about murder, greed and love and a very cunning villain I never saw coming.
I'm so looking forward to reading what happens next in Sally’s world.
Wow another amazing read I sat in bed and read this is less than two hours. The writing is absolutely fantastic and the story is very good. I absolutely love sally and Margie feels like I know them. I really hope there will be more in this series because I’m really invested now!
Such a brilliant follow up second book in this series.
Sally’s new neighbor swears her husbands poisoning her and wants sally to investigate. Sally doesn’t find any connection with Carolyn’s husband to the poison. From being stalked and almost murdered is there still someone out to get her?
I’ll be looking forward to the next book!
Thank you NetGalley, bookouture, and L.A. Larkin for allowing me to read an advanced readers copy due to be published June 16th 2023.
Another 5 star read from LA Larkin. There is just something about these Sally Fairburn books that hook me instantly. They keep me intrigued throughout the book and keep me guessing. In this book I was going back and forth on who I thought the killer was and I did figure it out but not until right before it was revealed! I thought how did I not see that coming? It takes great writing to keep you thinking and second guessing what you think. I am hooked and can’t wait for the third book!
This is book 2 in the 'A Sally Fairburn Crime Thriller' series and is another great addition to the series.
Sally is back and this book brought with it more thrills, suspense and twists and turns. Sally is dealing with a crazed killer who won't leave her alone, But things aren't always as they seem and in this book you will keep guessing and it will keep you reading as it is a riveting read.
A great read that has it all. The story is well paced and well written and it has enough suspense, drama and thrills to keep you reading. didn't take me long to finish this one for sure. Loved it.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
A good and well written novel with a lot of twists and turns. Managed to keep my interest and had me eager to find out what else would happen!
Thanks to Louisa and NetGalley for allowing me to read Her Deadly Truth before the publication date.
This is the second book in the series and the main characters are now established.
Having escaped from the Poster Killer, Sally Fairburn has moved to a new home with her teenage son, Paul.
It seems that Sally is a magnet for trouble when her new neighbour, Carolyn Tate, confides that she is being poisoned by her husband, Matt. When, despite Sally’s best efforts, Carolyn dies, Sally is determined that her death is treated as suspicious and calls in some favours.
Now Sally fears that she and Paul are being stalked.
The former detective, Richard Foster, who Sally had identified as the Poster Killer, continues to send her flowers every month. Although incarcerated, Foster still has a lot of contacts and he has managed to find her new address and phone number. Now he is demanding that she visit him in prison and he will provide her with information.
This was an easy read with plenty of red herrings and surprises along the way.
The second in the Sally Fairburn series, both of which I have read in the last month. A stronger story than book one and although I enjoyed the read, it never really had me gripped.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing me with an Advance Reader's Copy in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
This is a very good, easy read of a thriller in the Sally Fairburn series, perfect for holiday reading. I enjoyed the plotting and the characterisation, especially Sally. She is one strong minded woman as she becomes involved in a murder investigation! The writing is good, there are twists and turns and a cliffhanger ending. Lovers of crime thrillers will enjoy this. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.
When Sally’s next door neighbour reaches out to her, claiming her husband is trying to kill her, Sally is not convinced. Then Carolyn appears disorientated and dies. Sally is determined to find her murderer and solve the case.
This was an enjoyable read. I like the relationship between Sally and her son Paul. Unlike other books these main characters have really been though tough times and it makes you empathise with and care about them.
This was a definite page turner, and like book 1 I couldn’t get through quick enough. Tense, and heart racing at times. A joy to read.
This is book 2 in the Sally Fairburn series. It was a good read and the ending was unexpected. I look forward to the next book.
Sally Fairburn was a police officer turned victim advocate. She ended her career after the death of her teenage daughter and divorce from her controlling husband. Now, Sally is a single mom to her son, Paul.
Out of nowhere, Sally’s neighbor Carolyn Tate asks for her help. She suspects that someone is trying to poison her. Is this true or is she overreacting?
Not long afterward, Sally takes Carolyn to the hospital when she is exhibiting strange behavior. Now the police are investigating. Did someone target Carolyn, and if so, why?
Carolyn’s husband and friends are all suspects in Sally’s eyes. It seems they all have secrets. On top of this, Sally is pretty sure someone is following her, Paul is having PTSD issues from a prior attack and a serial perpetrator seems to have the answers to all of Sally’s questions. Can she find out what is going on and get justice for Carolyn?

Her Deadly Truth (A Sally Fairburn Crime Thriller Book 2) by L.A. Larkin is a great crime thriller and police procedural story. There is enough backstory that you don't need to read book 1, but book 1 is so good that I would recommend reading it.
Book 2 is about secrets a person keeps and the people who know them, mixed in with obsession and jealousy.
The only downside is the age-old excuse for the killings, but the story was still good, and the book was interesting and entertaining to read. A good crime thriller with good twists and good characters. I also loved the inscription on Zelda's grave (you will have to read the book to find out what it says!)
I hope there are more to come in this series. I would recommend this book and this author. I would rate this book a 4.5 out of 5 (rounded to 5).

I started this book straight after finishing the first one in the series (at 3am). I wanted to know how the main characters were and what would happen next. I found I enjoyed this book as much as the first and am impatient as I wait for book 3. One again I didn't guess the culprit until the reveal as the twists kept me guessing wrongly
This is Book 2 in the Sally Fairburn series. It can be read as a standalone, but I think it would be more enjoyable for the reader if they’ve read book 1 first. Sally once again gets tangled up in a murder investigation. I loved this book and it had me flipping the pages so fast. There are so many heart pounding moments and lots of non stop action. I look forward to the future book in this series!
Thank you so much Bookouture and NetGalley for the gifted copy!
Very narrowly missed a five star review from me and I rarely give those. I absolutely loved the previous book to this in the series so was fairly confident I’d love this one too and I was absolutely correct. The action is fast paced and tense. Sally’s neighbour is a newlywed who reaches out to her and says she’s in fear of her husband as he’s trying to poison her. Sally has enough going on as a serial killer she helped put away will not leave her alone and she has concerns for her own safety hen she realises she’s being followed. The jailed killer is an ex cop and becomes her unlikely partner in unraveling the current murder by drip feeding her clues in return for favours.
Honestly this is gripping from the first paragraph to the last and incredibly tense, it made me permanently on edge until I’d finished it luckily it’s a bank holiday so I had plenty of time to get there. The very end, like any good story, is a bit of a cliffhanger and left me wanting (needing) to find out what happens next.
Thoroughly recommend.
The 2nd in the Sally Fairburn series and this one gripped me from the get go and kept me there throughout.
A really good thriller, I'm glad I got to read books 1&2 together and didn't have to wait to see what happened next only problem is I have to wait now for book 3 😀

Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for my opinion.
This is the second book in this series and I liked this one better than the first. The mystery around Caroline's murder had me wondering who was the killer. I thought I had figured it out...WRONG! This one had me guessing up to the end. I like Sally's mom, not a fan of her dad at all, too much like the ex husband. I am looking forward to the next book.

This is the second book in the series.
Brilliant follow up book in the series, maybe even better than the first. Another winner by Larkin. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
4 stars
This is the second book in the Sally Fairburn Crime Thriller series. I read the first book. Although the 2 books are not related, a lot of backstory about Sally and her family are referred to in this book, so it may be a good idea to read the first one before this one. L.A. Larkin is a great writer. The book flowed smoothly and kept me interested. Sally Fairburn becomes embroiled again in a murder and attempts to set things right. This was a fast and entertaining read with plenty of mystery, crime, and thrills. If there are further books in this series, I'll definitely be reading them. I highly recommend this book. I truly enjoyed it. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC copy. I very much appreciate it.
