This was a riotous, fun friends to lovers story! Two best friends for three years who had no idea of their feelings for each other. Combative with a twist of forbidden love, where two colleagues are not allowed to date, this story is full of tension and a little bit of drama.
These two are absolutely adorable together, and the whole way through, you'll be rooting for them! Wicked Janise from Human Resources will pop in at the most unlikely of time and remind them of their strict relationship rule!
This was a great story for fans of either of these sub-genres. Definitely check it out!
- I absolutely adored Luke and Layla. They are two best friends/coworkers who have feelings for eachother. They are both scared the other will not reciprocate feelings as well as lose their jobs, due to a no-dating policy at the office.
- The plot gave me beachy/summer vibes. The company takes a work trip to Ocean City, Maryland. Sunny skies and sandy toes for all! I always love books with summer vibes.
- This book is the first book in the "๐ถ๐พ๐

Thank you so much for this arc, in exchange for my honest feedback
This was the cutest friends to lovers, workplace romance! I love Juliana Smithโs writing, and was so excited for this one! It was even better than I imagined it could be. I ended up reading it in two sittings, I did not want to put it down!
I found Luke and Layla to be the absolute cutest! I also loved how it was dual POV, so you could see what both characters were thinking. This book will keep you laughing with all the office pranks in it! If youโre a fan of closed door, slow burn romance, I highly recommend checking this book out!
Thank you Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.
If you loved The Office and wished the show focused more on Jim and Pamโs relationship, this is definitely a book to check out. This is a friends to lovers that really showed how close the two MCโs were and why they might be afraid to change that relationship. Overall it was a cute quick read if you are looking for a lighthearted not spicy read.
I am sorry but this just wasnโt my favorite read. I didnโt dislike it but also didnโt love it. The writing was okay. The cover was cute at least. Literally no other thoughts.
To be completely honest, this one just wasn't for me. I'm not a huge fan of first person, and the main character came across as too nOt LiKe OtHeR gIrLs. So many readers were comparing Luke & Layla to Pam & Jim from the Office, and I really wanted to read those vibes but the voice just wasn't something that worked for me. Definitely a case of it's not you, it's me - I know a lot of other readers that would love this, it's just not my personal taste!
This was a really cute and quick read that gave off major Jim and Pam vibes. I loved the office workplace setting and the angsty will they/won't they plot. 3.75 stars, rounded up to a 4. A fun read!
-Friends to lovers
-Dual POV
-Amazing banter
-Closed door
This book was SO cute! The chemistry and banter between Layla and Luke was the best, thereโs nothing I love more than that while reading romance. I heard that his book gave off โThe Officeโ vibes and I completely agree!
Personally I like reading open door spice, however I still really enjoyed reading this novel. I canโt wait to read more from Juliana Smith!
Thank you NetGalley for an advanced e-copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This was a sweet and amusing read. Characters had amazing chemistry and I enjoyed their banter a lot! The plot twist was fun and unexpected. The pacing was fast and I binged this book in one sitting. Would definitely recommend this book.
Per My Last Email was SO GOOD! The banter and the love between the two main characters was phenomenal! I can't wait to continue on with the series! I was laughing and having a great time! Highly recommend this book!
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!
Per My Last Email gave me all The Office vibes and I absolutely LOVED it!
Layla works at a publishing company as an admin, along with Luke - of course, this is a total situation of each is friend zoning the other because they can't quite possibly believe that there are feelings there. But in true friends to lovers fashion, at an office conference, they decide to be brave and show the other how they truly feel.
This was a slow burn, closed door romcom that had me giggling & swooning. I loved the Pam/Jim idea and I was SO glad that we didn't have to wait 4 years just for Luke & Layla to admit their feelings (I mean... technically three years but flash forward...) I was slightly disappointment that Nathan wasn't more of a Dwight but I loved his character all the same.
Huge thank you to Juliana Smith & NetGalley for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I received this as an ARC from NetGally and this was an adorable office romance. It is absolutely adorable and a quick read. This was a slow burn and no spice but if you are okay with that then this is a good book! I really enjoyed the cuteness between the two characters and the natural romance that this book gave me.
At first glance I was a little hesitant on this one, references mentioning if you like the office (which, I absolutely hated ๐ฌ๐๐ฌ) but the summary made me jump right in. And y'all, a slow (and I mean sssssllllooooowwwww) burn, friends to lovers office romcom that I absolutely devoured in one sitting. From scheming friends to the family group chat, Luke and Layla's story was the best sort of heartwarming one could hope for a sunny Friday afternoon read ๐ฅฐ๐๐ฅฐ. I can't wait for the next one in the series!!
Thank you Juliana Smith and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review!!
Per My Last Email is a workplace, friends-to-lovers romance with lots of "the office" type vibes, and I AM HERE FOR IT! โ๏ธ โค๏ธ
It's got pranks, star wars ref's galore, donuts, an evil woman in HR, lovable friends who get them into trouble, a works overnight trip... What more do you want?!
I really enjoyed this sweet and cozy romcom. It's an easy, quick read that gives you a warm fuzzy feeling.

When I first started reading this, I really enjoyed it. I love an office romance and it seemed really fun! Lots of banter, interaction and cute main characters.
I think the dual POV ruined it a bit for me. It was too much miscommunication and then each character seemed different in each others eyes? Hard to explain but it didn't sync well. I did like the characters though, especially Luke who wasn't your typical male lead!! He had flaws, he was afraid and it was refreshing to read about a normal guy!
Writing was good, but I did feel a lot of it was cringy...
At 85% I finally got what I wanted but I was tempted to stop reading before then!!! Overall, it was good.
Gosh, what a book! Per My Last Email gives you all the feels, all the pining, all the geekiness and pranks and banter and - oh my! I can honestly not recommend this enough. I cannot wait to see, what Juliana Smith does next.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this ARC. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book is adorable! It was so fun to read about lovable, sweet leads, Layla and Luke! They have such a wonderful, sweet and playful friendship that blossomed into a healthy relationship. I loved the side characters (Layla, Luke and Nathan are friendship goals) and I'm a sucker for friends and family who push main characters to get together! Also, loved how Luke and Layla proceed with their hobbies turning them into profession they enjoy doing!

Can't wait to read more of Juliana!
thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy of per my last email. this was such a cute romance book. i loved how perfect they meshed. i had only hoped for a little spice but this was basically ya with that.
Loved this story! Super cute and reminded me of The Office at times.
Definitely enjoying this authors writing style and how stories are laid out!
Luke and Layla are best friends secretly been in love with each since they met. With an affinity for pranks and a love of nerdy things, they're a match made in heaven. Plus his family loves her, and has included her into family group chat. The problem? They're colleagues and there's a no fraternisation rule. Not to mention neither wants to break the stalemate lest it ruin their friendship.
Juliana Smith's 'As Per My Email' has cast of entertaining characters with a very sweet and sassy chemistry between our two leads. The problem is that the pacing dragged out the stalemate they're in. I found it took so long for the company trip to happen that by the time action moved to Ocean City, I skimmed through as it was repetitious in the constant interruptions that I wanted one of them to finally just blurt it out! I don't mind miscommunication, but this was just too slow burn for me. Overall this was a fun read I'm looking forward to the next Wells sibling's story with Nathan, who was such a great character he deserves his love story too.
Thanks to Juliana Smith and NetGalley for the ARC.
