This is quite a slow read and I feel it would have benefitted from being a bit faster paced. It really picks up at the end and I'm glad I persevered to that point.

For me this book was not a hit. For the majority of the book the main character is trying to convince her sister to come back to her seemingly perfect marriage and house, although it’s clear she doesn’t want to. Nothing major is going on. Nothing and more nothingness. The very end of the book has all the action this book contains and by this point you’ve already decided that the main character isn’t good at following her own instincts. Then it ends with you still not knowing what really happened. I hate not getting closure especially after I’ve stuck with a book that was far too long with unnecessary chapters with the same things on repeat to not at least get closure. So this was not a book for me.

This was so close to being a DNF. It was so slow and tedious. I didn't understand the obsession with finding the sister, which was the majority of the book. It wasn't until 85% in until anything really started to happen. This book was way too many pages for it to have gone on that long. Then, I just couldn't get past the stupid decisions made by the main character. I found this book dull and annoying. Especially because you are left with questions at the end about who was responsible.

I appreciated the fact that the author tried to give every character a background, even though it made the starting slower, I knew what was going to happen but the writing, the way it was written caught my attention from the starting.

The writing is solid, creating a vivid atmosphere, but the plot is a mix of captivating moments and predictability. Characters are well-developed, though some lack depth. Pacing fluctuates, making it a decent but not outstanding read.

Slow start. In an effort to give backstory of characters, it just seemed like the characters didn’t go together or even like each other. I did not finish this title.

Sarah has vanished and her sister Kate wants answers. Gripping and with layers under the surface. The plot is deep.

I went back and forth with this book I loved it then was annoyed with it. Some of the banter back and forth felt juvenile and just not believable. Overall a good story line but felt redundant at times.

This was a fast easy read BUT not a favorite. I found the main character extremely frustrating. Her thought process and rationalizations throughout the entire book had me screaming at her saying what is wrong with you!

Sarah seems to have it all. A gorgeous husband, beautiful house, and a successful Instagram blog. She also just announced her pregnancy. However, in the middle of cooking dinner, Sarah disappears into thin air. Her sister, Kate, immediately jumps into action. Sarah has run away before. But this time, it's not just Sarah she is worried about. There is also Sarah's unborn child.

Kate starts diving into the ins and outs of Sarah's life, including her relationship with Sarah's husband, James. The further Kate digs, the more secrets she uncovers. Sarah has been living a very different life than she has presented on Instagram. Kate's determined to find her sister and to figure out what is going on.

This is an enjoyable read. It is predictable at times, but I still enjoyed the overall plot line. I did predict the person behind the big twist, but there was a bit of nuance to it. It is quick-paced novel. Ruth Harrow does an excellent job diving into the character's backgrounds and personalties. I did find myself shaking my head at our main character, Kate, several times, however.

Overall, I recommend this book for thriller fans. The revelations might not be the most shocking, but it is still a great and easy read!

Ooh, I really enjoyed this. Its so twisty! Wondering where a pregnant seemingly contented wife went and why its so hard for her sister to find her. The more she searches, the more secrets come spilling out. Very good, definitely worth a read!

Kate and Sarah are sisters. Sarah is married to James and they have the perfect marriage. They have a lovely home and Sarah has a successful Instagram following and has recently discovered that she is pregnant. So why, halfway through cooking the dinner, does she disappear leaving behind her phone and her handbag? James is totally confused and contacts Kate. Kate is married to Chris and experiencing problems with her life. They both work in the business owned by Chris’s mother and he seems to spend all his time with her. Kate realises that she must find out what has happened to Sarah especially as she knows that Sarah has done this before. As Kate starts to dig for answers she realises that there are more secrets to be revealed. She feels that she is being watched and fears for her own safety. This is a good psychological thriller with interesting characters and plenty of twists and turns. An enjoyable read.

honestly didn’t love this one. overall it was a really interesting story about abusive and complicated relationships. i can see that the author was portraying the kind of love bombing that is so common among abusive relationships, the way someone can feel like your saviour who can fulfill all your needs when in reality they are controlling and manipulative. i just felt like i was yearning for some more depth from the relationships. potentially seeing the same things unfold from other characters perspectives, so that we could see how out of tune kate’s perspective was. i realise this was probably an intentional choice from the author, to only show kate’s tunnel vision perspective and show how convincing and real it was for her, but it left things feeling a bit flat for me. because right from the beginning sarah was telling kate how horrible james was, and kate just didn’t believe her? for some understandable reasons, but still i just felt like i didn’t have any buy-in as a reader. overall, an enjoyable enough read but not particularly inspired
