Another great book from one of my favourite authors, brilliant from the off, it had everything in it and kept it going throughout the entire book
I received this book from Netgalley.
This book was so easy to read. Before I knew it I was 30% of the way through.
Chris needs to learn to stand up to his mother. He is such a weak character who really shows a lack of respect towards his wife when he constantly allows his mother to control his life.
Jess does stand up for herself which is great to see. However, she knows that her sister has a history and she neglects to say anything about it to James. Now, that's fairly understandable maybe but she doesn't mention it to the police. If your sister was missing, wouldn't you do anything you could to bring her home?
Why wouldn't someone stay in the room with Sarah when they bring her home? She's clearly not in a good place, why would you leave her alone?
Jess allowed herself to be completely manipulated by James. Yes, of course they're going to grow close when they're going through such a situation, but the fact that she believes him over her husband and doesn't give her husband a chance to say anything. She does neglect her husband once Sarah goes missing, she's also to blame for their problems.
She also doesn't believe her sister, and blindly trusts James. Despite the fact that she really didn't know him much until a few months earlier. Yes, her sister has had problems in the past but at least heat her out. Don't just blindly trust some stranger.
Overall, definitely a book I would recommend!
