๐ฑTHE OVERVIEW
A young girl (with the usual weak self-esteem and self-worth issues these ppl seem to like ๐) ends up being dragged into a new world where she has secret powers that she must master. At a competition for Saigami, she enters with her partners & has to brave the tests & traps with determination & wit. As the 42? candidates brave the maze to find their teammates, they battle the maze, their minds & new challenges set up by the mysterious Phantom Division instructor.

๐ฆ Overall I wasnโt impressed :( . We have the usual - overly enthusiastic boy, the cold and calculating boy & unsure, semi-weakish girl that eventually they all will want. The plot isnโt original enough - not quite my thing. ๐ฌ

The beginning of Saigami vol. 2 was quite slow but Iโm glad I stuck around with it. Saigami is about a team of teenagers gifted with magic powers and their quest to learn how to use them but the main character is having a rather rough go at that. The story starts to get good once the characters finally begin their exam on page 30. The kids face off against monsters in a dungeon and itโs fun to see the various characters interact and work together. Most of the time the characters are brute forcing their ways out of their problems and I think it would have been more interesting if they had to work towards more clever solutions. Overall Saigami was an enjoyable read.
The true star of the show (in my opinion) is the adorable Chibi! I have read Saigami Vol.1 so many times because of Chibi, and I am so happy that more is coming in volume two! The wonderful story continues in the world of Saigami's. This middle grade read is perfect for fans of Avatar the Last Air Bender.
