Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!
I had to DNF this at 17%, the "writing" was just that bad. The style that the writing is in makes this book practically incomprehensible. I was seriously struggling to understand what was happening the entire time that I was reading. The way this was written screams AI. A very badly created AI at that. This "book" is a shining example of why no one wants to read any of this AI-generated garbage. It's terribly done, and horribly "written". Also, this makes me wonder, how many works that were written by real people were stolen to create the AI that "wrote" this book?
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for a review.
This was such an unusual one. The writing was so bad, descriptions upon descriptions that make it agonisingly hard to read. The writing was soooo weird at some points that it felt like its written baby AI.
On top of that, so many grammatical mistakes, punctuational and apostrophe mistakes. It was very hard to read and finish this book and I would not want to experience it again.
The premise of this book was very interesting. It follows the story of a young man who was raised in a bunker with his dad where he learns self-defense and survival skills. I feel like the story had a lot of potential but the execution wasn't for me. Another reviewer noted that it seems like the story was written by an AI and I wholeheartedly agree. The writing is incredibly verbose and unusual. E.g. "His eyelids cover his sight as the morning rises and the sun stimulates his pupil and view."
Very little editing was done; in fact every paragraph has multiple grammatical, punctuational, and apostrophe use errors.
The story was interesting, it had some thrilling action scenes and I was curious to know more about the mysterious characters. However, the writing style felt weird to me and was a bit distracting.

The setting and ambience of this book was phenomenal. It kept me at the edge of my seat from start to finish.
I like the fantasy elements and the writing style.
Very interested in reading more of this author.
The prose is weirdly disjointed and gives the impression that it was written by an AI. I gave up trying to comprehend what was happening at 35% and skimmed the rest.
