This was such a fun, light-hearted, touching, and steamy holiday read- all of the best things in one! I loved both sets of characters- the couple in the making, as well as their famous parents. I've been in a bit of a reading slump lately, and this was the perfect fit and fix- I read this book quickly and it was such a great read. Thanks to Tessa Bailey for a thoughtful, yet easy holiday read that was perfect for this time of year.
Great book!! I enjoyed it. The characters were awesome. It’s Tessa Bailey a go to author for me. I would recommend to read around the holidays. Perfect vibes
The sweetness of this book is unreal.
Beat and Melody have been fated to be friends since the day they were born. The only issue is their mothers despise one another. Their mothers are from the former band Steel Birds but for unknown reasons, they break up. Beat and Melody come together to reunite the two at a Christmas Eve event.
Why I loved this book:
~Dual pov
~Forced Proximity
~One Bed
~Christmas Rom-Com
~Mothers Hate Each Other
~Reality TV

Thank you so much to Avon and NetGalley for the opportunity to arc-read this book in exchange for an honest review.

A Rock ‘n’ Roll Christmas Romance
Melody Gallard may be the daughter of music royalty, but her world is far from glamorous. She spends her days restoring old books and avoiding the limelight (one awkward tabloid photo was enough, thanks). But when a producer offers her a lot of money to reunite her mother’s band on live TV, Mel begins to wonder if it’s time to rattle the cage, shake up her quiet life… and see him again.
The only other person who could wrangle the rock and roll divas is Beat Dawkins, the lead singer’s son. Beat is Melody’s opposite—the camera loves him, he could charm the pants off anyone, and his mom is not a potential cult leader. Still, they might have been best friends if not for the legendary feud that broke up the band. When they met as teenagers, Mel felt an instant spark, but it’s nothing compared to the wild, intense attraction that builds as they embark on a madcap mission to convince their mothers to perform one last show.
While dealing with rock star shenanigans, a 24-hour film crew, brawling Santas, and mobs of adoring fans, Mel starts to step out of her comfort zone. With Beat by her side, cheering her on, she’s never felt so understood. But Christmas Eve is fast approaching, and a decades-old scandal is poised to wreck everything—the Steel Birds reunion, their relationships with their mothers, and their newfound love.
“Wreck the Halls” is a delightful holiday rom-com that combines music, laughter, and a touch of kink. Tessa Bailey’s writing sparkles, and the chemistry between Mel and Beat is electric. If you’re looking for a feel-good read to brighten your holiday season, this book is a perfect choice.
Tessa Bailey can do not wrong, and writing Christmas books is one definitely one of her amazing skills. This book was everything I needed this year -- fun, spicy, and incredibly entertaining.
I like this book a lot. It was a fun Christmas read. The characters were well developed and easy to love. I liked that Tessa tried some new avenues but did so tastefully without throwing them in just to do so. There was purpose and thought behind what the characters did and why. I fun read for Christmas!

Thank you @avonbooks @bibliolifestyle [partner] for my gifted copy! Wreck The Halls by Tessa Bailey is out now!!
I really enjoyed Wreck The Halls! It was a fun holiday romance, but also a really fun friendship story as well.
I loved Steel Birds. I, of course, pictured Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin as this dynamic duo. The scene with them in the office pushing the pens and slamming the fist on the table was so them. I loved it. (Also, Trina yelling “Melody Anne” was too close to home for me because that’s 3 letters away from my actual name 😭)
The romance was so sweet. I loved the concept of the live stream and how people were falling in love with them as this social media sensation. Plus, we got to see them both in their natural habitats, and really understand them as people separate from Beat and Melody.
The third act breakup was frustrating. I get it, but ugh, frustrating. I didn’t like how everything was communicated and well sought out and then a third act. We do end with a sweet HEA, so all is well in the Manhattan world. I do like how Melody was so calmly able to be herself and still assert her boundaries with everyone. I am also a Magnificent Mel stan.
There’s a few steamy scenes, but pretty tame for Tessa Bailey standards. There’s also a Elf like snowball fight that was adorable. The goal is Rockefeller Center Christmas Eve reunion, so it’s holiday adjacent, but not necessarily a Christmas Book. So if you’re looking for something that isn’t deep in mistletoe, this might be what you’re looking for!
QOTD: Name a band you wish would/does have a holiday song!
Love a forbidden/enemies to lovers romance. Lots of my favorite tropes in this book. If only there were Hallmark movies like THIS.
If I could give this book more than 5 stars i would!
Tess Knocked this one out of the park!
This was such a cute story!
I loved the plot line by far one of my favorites this year.
The writing was of course, *Chefs Kiss*
both the main and side characters had depth and a story to tell,
which created one incredible ending.
Sweet & spicy Christmas novel from Tessa Bailey, yes please. The premise initially felt like a stretch - a live streamed reality show that brings together the children of estranged rock musicians to try to finagle a band reunion - but the connection between Beat and Melody is very real. Tessa Bailey does a great job building strong backstories for her characters, and I honestly would love more content focused on Octavia and Trina, the rock stars in question.
My one quibble is that there's a bit of the "take the nerdy girl's glasses off and suddenly wow, she's gorgeous!" about Melody's character descriptions. She has deep confidence issues after being left to basically raise herself in the harsh glare of the public eye, and at times it was hard to read, especially in comparison to Beat and his golden boy aura. I was able to get past it because their chemistry is strong and the spice is exactly what we expect from Tessa Bailey, but it did irk me at first.
Tessa Bailey is always an auto-buy author for me, so I was very excited to be granted this ARC. I absolutely loved this book. It was the perfect book to put me in the Christmas spirit. The main characters were so cute!! They are the kind of characters that you can't help but swoon over. I really enjoyed all of the laugh out loud moments this book had, especially between the moms. This is the kind of book that you would expect to see on the big screen for the holiday season. Super cute, light, heartwarming and a quick read. A very special thank you to Netgalley, Avon/Harper Voyager, and Tessa Bailey for providing me this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Ugh. This just was not for me. Tessa Bailey can be so hit or miss for me. I think my first red flag was the fact that the main characters are named Beat and Melody. My second gripe is that the main character's "trauma" was ridiculous. The woe is me attitude just did not work.
Also, this is minimally a holiday romance and the cover does it a big disservice.
Tessa Bailey is back for the holidays! And I couldn’t be happier. This story brought me back to the days of VH1 and MTV TRL. Following two famous people’s children as they navigate a comeback was all together hilarious and sweet. If you’re looking for a read that will have you laughing and jolly this winter, this one will do the trick.
Thank you Avon for my gifted copy.
Thank you Netgalley for the advanced reading copy! This book took me a little bit to get into, but once I submitted to the plot, I found this to be a fun read. Beat and Melody are the kids of rock legends, and they work together on a streaming reality show to get their mom’s band back together; all while chaos and romance commences! So there were things I really liked about this book and things I hated about this book lol, but I am ultimately giving it 4 stars because I liked the pacing and the “getting the band back together” plot, with the reuniting friendship between the two moms being sweet and interesting to me. I also really liked parts of Melody and Beat’s romance. I didn’t mind the edging though it was overdone, and I didn’t mind the intense attraction that also got a little overdone. Overall, this is not my favorite work from Bailey, BUT I had fun reading it for the most part, so I do recommend it. I would say it’s light holiday romance, high steam (like all of Bailey’s books). Overall, I recommend for fans of Bailey, holiday romances, and high steam.
This was a cute holiday romance!
I really enjoyed the plot and thought it was an original idea. The romance was very cute and felt genuine. There were some parts of the book that felt a little slow.
My book club chose this book for our December holiday read and I was so excited for a holiday theme from one of my favorite authors.
While this book was not realistic at all, it was still an enjoyable and different take on a holiday trope with the spice I expect from Tessa Bailey.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book from both of the main character’s perspectives and appreciated the male lead had self awareness in his insecurity/issues and was actively trying to avoid putting those on the female lead (successfully or not).
If you’re looking for a lighthearted, slightly spice holiday book that doesn’t have the small town love story of a Hallmark movie, I highly recommend Wreck the Halls!
I love Tessa Baileys writing. This book was no different. It was an easy romance to follow and kept me intrigued the whole time. Overall, a great romance book to read this holiday season.
Thank you netgalley for allowing me to read an arc of this book.
This book lacked so much depth. I never believed that these two characters should be together. There should've been flashback scenes that showed these two had a past. Our hero did one thing and they had one interaction that stuck with them for years to come? Not believable. Unfortunately Tessa Bailey has recently been more of a miss for me. I loved her last Christmas book, so I was hopeful for this one, but this didn't even feel like a Christmas book?
Wreck the Halls is so cute but also chaos 😂. Children or 90s indie rock royalty, Beat and Melody, are tasked with the seemingly impossible task: reunite their Moms together for a reunion concert on Christmas Eve. These two have only met once prior back when they were 16, but their connection has never faded.
There’s instalove, Blackmail, live social media feeds, spice, a visit to jail due to kicking Santa in the balls, beignets - Tessa really gave us everything in this one! I had a blast reading it and recommend it if you like a holiday-adjacent romcom with spice.
I received an advanced reading copy, receipt of which did not impact my review.
Tessa Bailey has some really fun romances and her previous Christmas romance was great, so I was expecting to enjoy this one more than I did. The miscommunication was a bit frustrating and the romance seemed to blossom out of nowhere. I did enjoy the premise and humor, though.
