thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy. I really enjoyed this and will be getting copies for my shop.
I was in a reading rut and this book brought me right out! It put me in the holiday mood and was the perfect reading escape that I needed. I loved it, Tessa again knocked it out of the park and would absolutely recommend.
I want to thank NetGalley, Tessa Bailey and Avon and Harper Voyager, Avon for the e-ARC of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are honest, my own and left voluntarily.
I REALLY wanted to like this book. The concept is utterly delightful and there’s a lot of positives here with the characters, but something just didn’t click for me. Maybe it was the chemistry between Melody and Beat that felt off, but I wasn’t a huge fan of this one.
Tessa Bailey never disappoints for her romance readers. The story of two adults who meet again after their rock-star mom's nasty break-up. They find each other during the holidays and realize that they might be the only two people who can truly understand each other.
I don't usually go for the holiday trope, but for Tessa Bailey, I'll venture out of my comfort zone, and reading Wreck the Halls was not at all what I expected, especially from Tessa. Although it was definite insta-love, and I had to bend myself into believing their connection was real, once I got over that hurdle, I was along for the ride! And what a ride it was. To experience Beat and Melody's connection grow while they each grew in their own ways was fun, sweet, a little bit angsty, but enjoyable. I really hope this one gets made into a movie; it would be a perfect Hallmark story!
If Tessa writes it, I’m going to read it! I always have the best time with her books and one with some holiday flare is no exception! I binged this in a day and had the best time!
I loved our MMC Beat and thought the plot line of being famous children of rock stars was such a fun storyline! I love a book with a reality TV moment too 🎬.
I loved the relationship between Melody and Beat and couldn’t help but want to root for them! This is a book set around the holiday’s but isn’t overtly holiday themed so just keep that in mind when reading!
Overall I enjoyed this silly and sweet romance and of course the way that Tessa crafts her romances are unmatched!
I’m a Tessa Bailey fan and I enjoyed this book. I think I was maybe expecting a little something different from what I got, but I wasn’t mad about the book! I thought all the characters were fun and it had Tessa Baileys signature heat.

I have enjoyed many of Tessa’s books but this one, but I didn’t love it. I was captivated by the Christmas vibes and the plot but it did not deliver for me.
Things I enjoyed:
- The approach to the Reality TV show.
- The premise of getting their rockstar moms together.
Things I disliked:
- Miscommunication trope
- Didn’t feel like Christmas except the date as a deadline to reunite the mothers. It was not a holiday book.
- Did not fall for the main characters. Just did not feel the connection.
- The plot was there but didn’t have enough substance in my opinion.
- Third-person narration (personal choice)
- The sexual content (I guess I just didn’t get the reasons behind his approach - no spoilers l). It just put me off I guess (personal opinion)
I still encourage you to give it a try!
I really loved this. This was cheesy af but who doesn’t love a cheesy Christmas book? It was hallmark but spicy! I loved the concept of getting a band back together.
I received this book for free for an honest unbiased review from Netgalley.
I really love this author but I struggled to get into it. It picked up towards the end.
This was such a cute story. The pretense was one that you just kinda have to shut your brain off and go with, but it led to a really fun story. I loved Beat and Melody and them together. I wish it had a little more holiday-ness, there wasn't much except the big event happening on Christmas Eve. But this is definitely a cute read!
Well, this was adorable. Feel-good fluffy romance you don’t have to put much mental work into keeping up with stuff. Solid spice that wasn’t too over the top
There is a lot to like about Wreck the Halls. It's cute, funny and I loved the premise of them trying to reunite their moms for one last musical act.
I really struggled though with Beat's kink. The buildup was intense and then we find out that he likes delayed gratification. And when we find out why... so much more could have been done with that. Instead Melody is like a cure all and I didn't care for that aspect.
Gah sadly I wanted to love this but I didn't. First of all, it's not really a holiday novel and secondly I just didn't love the characters or the romance.
I think this may be my final try at a Tessa Bailey novel, I truly think she may be a one hit wonder. Quality over quantity. Absolutely painful to read, sorry excuse for a plot and horrible characters/names. Cringy.
I thought this was a fun romance read and I felt like it had a pretty unique plot line. It wasn’t overly Christmassy - other than it took place in the few weeks before Christmas - but I was good with that.
I absolutely adored Melody’s character! I loved how witty and awkward she was. It’s always satisfying to read about a relatable FMC. I enjoyed that Beat’s character was so thoughtful and protective. Their mothers were dynamic characters that added a fun layer to the story too! This was a fun first holiday read of the season!

This book was so much fun! It was a holiday read, but more about the children of two former band-mates plotting to get their moms to agree to get the band back together. It just happens to take place in the couple weeks before Christmas.
Melody and Beat's moms were in a rock band together years ago, until something happened to cause a huge fight and break up. They subsequently had their kids, who met once and felt a strange connection to each other. Several years later, Melody and Beat are approached about a reality live stream show, promising a million dollars if they can convince the band to reunite on Christmas Eve.
Melody is skeptical at first, but Beat is being blackmailed and needs the cash. Melody agrees to it, partly to have the opportunity to be around Beat once again. They have a major attraction to each other and it only grows stronger as they try to convince their moms to pull off this reunion concert.
I loved the steam and the spark between Melody and Beat. Their moms were hilarious and quirky, The producer Danielle and camera man were a hoot, too! I really had fun reading this one, which doesn't surprise me - I always like books by this author!
I liked the storyline here. It was different than any I’ve read before. The characters were likeable and I thought well developed. Overall, I enjoyed the Christmas read.
Tessa Bailey never misses!! Thank you so much to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of "Wreck the Halls" in exchange for my honest review. Tessa Bailey is the QUEEN of romance and a must buy author to me so I was so excited to read her newest Holiday Romance. Wreck the Halls follows our FMC Mel and MMC Beat and their love story. Their banter was very well written and I have to say of all the Tessa Bailey books I have read this is a stand out between the banter and the overall plot - I am also a sucker for anything Christmas themed. I would highly recommend this novel to any romance readers who want a super festive read for December.
I opted to read this book because of its adorable Christmas cover. But this has absolutely nothing to do with Christmas. I honestly don't know how to convey how terrible this book was. Ugh overall. No, just No
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the E-ARC
