Beat and Melody (yes, that’s actually their names) are the offspring of rock and roll legends. However, the legends fell out 30 years ago and now Beat and Melody have the chance (or obligation) to get them back together for one last performance. The sexual tension is high between them from the first moment they meet, but there are so many reasons to run the other way from each other.
This is a Hallmark movie in a book with some serious spice thrown in that wouldn’t be suitable for television! It’s a perfect little book for a great holiday read!

I typically love Tessa Bailey's books, but had a hard time getting into this one for some reason. My biggest issue was that the main characters met briefly as tweens and then again as adults, however, they seemed to know so much about each others current personalities even though they have not had contact since childhood.

✨ Review ✨ Wreck the Halls by Tessa Bailey
The last few TB books I've read have been hit or miss but this was an absolute hit. I loved the set up of this book -- Beat and Melody, kids of the Steel Birds, a rock duo, who broke up while one was pregnant with Beat and one with Melody. The two grew up in the eye of the media, always curious why the Steel Birds broke up. They met once as teenagers, but otherwise have lived their lives apart due to the enmity between their moms.
But when approached about a reality show to reunite their moms, both have reasons to join together to attempt the impossible. These two are like magnets from the beginning, and there was something just so fun and captivating about their relationship. I was rooting for them from early on and I couldn't put this down.
This book is silly and filled with all sorts of fun details -- Melody's in a bocce league (and she's terrible at it), Beat's mom is like a socialite queen, Melody's mom is living in some sort of weird commune with brawling Santas next door.
This book definitely requires you to suspend your disbelief and open yourself up to some delightfully inane fun, but I was so here for it!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(4.25)
Genre: f/m contemporary romance

Thanks to Avon and #netgalley for the gifted advanced copy/ies of this book!

Unfortunately, I didn't love this one like I typically love Tessa Bailey novels. For some reason, I just did not fully connect with the characters or the romance. It had a lot of interesting and unique bits--the 24/7 livestream, their famous rockstar mothers, trying to reunite the band before Christmas, the blackmail,etc--but I ended up just thinking this was okay. I think I had expected more Christmas and we don't really get that here.

This was just a perfect holiday (or any time of the year really) read! I cannot get enough of the fated lovers trope and Tessa Bailey writes angsty pining SO WELL! From the first moment they lay eyes on one another, Beat is such a sap for Melody and she is head over heels for him. If you love rockstar romance vibes but without the tragic nightmarscape that is the ending of A Star is Born, this one is for you. Daisy Jones and the Six meets All the Best Nights. It's got really fantastic banter, the STEAMIEST steam (because of course it does), a great revenge plot, and Christmasy vibes without being over the top for those who don't love that. I already can't wait to read this one again. I will be thinking of Beat and Melody for such a long time!

I saved Wreck the Halls to read closer to the holidays. I enjoyed the premise and that the two main characters were immediately into each other (I guess I typically only read enemies to lovers....? who knew!), but this wasn't my favorite Tessa Bailey. That honor still belongs to the Belinger sisters. Thanks to Netgalley and Avon/Harper Voyager for the ARC!

such a fun, spicy holiday romance! i absolutely loved it. tessa bailey always knocks it out of the park for me, and wreck the halls is no exception.

This was such a fun, light-hearted, touching, and steamy holiday read- all of the best things in one! I loved both sets of characters- the couple in the making, as well as their famous parents. I've been in a bit of a reading slump lately, and this was the perfect fit and fix- I read this book quickly and it was such a great read. Thanks to Tessa Bailey for a thoughtful, yet easy holiday read that was perfect for this time of year.

Great book!! I enjoyed it. The characters were awesome. It’s Tessa Bailey a go to author for me. I would recommend to read around the holidays. Perfect vibes

The sweetness of this book is unreal.
Beat and Melody have been fated to be friends since the day they were born. The only issue is their mothers despise one another. Their mothers are from the former band Steel Birds but for unknown reasons, they break up. Beat and Melody come together to reunite the two at a Christmas Eve event.
Why I loved this book:
~Dual pov
~Forced Proximity
~One Bed
~Christmas Rom-Com
~Mothers Hate Each Other
~Reality TV
~Blackmailer

A Rock ‘n’ Roll Christmas Romance
Melody Gallard may be the daughter of music royalty, but her world is far from glamorous. She spends her days restoring old books and avoiding the limelight (one awkward tabloid photo was enough, thanks). But when a producer offers her a lot of money to reunite her mother’s band on live TV, Mel begins to wonder if it’s time to rattle the cage, shake up her quiet life… and see him again.
The only other person who could wrangle the rock and roll divas is Beat Dawkins, the lead singer’s son. Beat is Melody’s opposite—the camera loves him, he could charm the pants off anyone, and his mom is not a potential cult leader. Still, they might have been best friends if not for the legendary feud that broke up the band. When they met as teenagers, Mel felt an instant spark, but it’s nothing compared to the wild, intense attraction that builds as they embark on a madcap mission to convince their mothers to perform one last show.
While dealing with rock star shenanigans, a 24-hour film crew, brawling Santas, and mobs of adoring fans, Mel starts to step out of her comfort zone. With Beat by her side, cheering her on, she’s never felt so understood. But Christmas Eve is fast approaching, and a decades-old scandal is poised to wreck everything—the Steel Birds reunion, their relationships with their mothers, and their newfound love.
“Wreck the Halls” is a delightful holiday rom-com that combines music, laughter, and a touch of kink. Tessa Bailey’s writing sparkles, and the chemistry between Mel and Beat is electric. If you’re looking for a feel-good read to brighten your holiday season, this book is a perfect choice.

Tessa Bailey can do not wrong, and writing Christmas books is one definitely one of her amazing skills. This book was everything I needed this year -- fun, spicy, and incredibly entertaining.

I like this book a lot. It was a fun Christmas read. The characters were well developed and easy to love. I liked that Tessa tried some new avenues but did so tastefully without throwing them in just to do so. There was purpose and thought behind what the characters did and why. I fun read for Christmas!

Thank you @avonbooks @bibliolifestyle [partner] for my gifted copy! Wreck The Halls by Tessa Bailey is out now!!
I really enjoyed Wreck The Halls! It was a fun holiday romance, but also a really fun friendship story as well.
I loved Steel Birds. I, of course, pictured Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin as this dynamic duo. The scene with them in the office pushing the pens and slamming the fist on the table was so them. I loved it. (Also, Trina yelling “Melody Anne” was too close to home for me because that’s 3 letters away from my actual name 😭)
The romance was so sweet. I loved the concept of the live stream and how people were falling in love with them as this social media sensation. Plus, we got to see them both in their natural habitats, and really understand them as people separate from Beat and Melody.
The third act breakup was frustrating. I get it, but ugh, frustrating. I didn’t like how everything was communicated and well sought out and then a third act. We do end with a sweet HEA, so all is well in the Manhattan world. I do like how Melody was so calmly able to be herself and still assert her boundaries with everyone. I am also a Magnificent Mel stan.
There’s a few steamy scenes, but pretty tame for Tessa Bailey standards. There’s also a Elf like snowball fight that was adorable. The goal is Rockefeller Center Christmas Eve reunion, so it’s holiday adjacent, but not necessarily a Christmas Book. So if you’re looking for something that isn’t deep in mistletoe, this might be what you’re looking for!
QOTD: Name a band you wish would/does have a holiday song!

Love a forbidden/enemies to lovers romance. Lots of my favorite tropes in this book. If only there were Hallmark movies like THIS.

If I could give this book more than 5 stars i would!
Tess Knocked this one out of the park!
This was such a cute story!
I loved the plot line by far one of my favorites this year.
The writing was of course, *Chefs Kiss*
both the main and side characters had depth and a story to tell,
which created one incredible ending.

Sweet & spicy Christmas novel from Tessa Bailey, yes please. The premise initially felt like a stretch - a live streamed reality show that brings together the children of estranged rock musicians to try to finagle a band reunion - but the connection between Beat and Melody is very real. Tessa Bailey does a great job building strong backstories for her characters, and I honestly would love more content focused on Octavia and Trina, the rock stars in question.
My one quibble is that there's a bit of the "take the nerdy girl's glasses off and suddenly wow, she's gorgeous!" about Melody's character descriptions. She has deep confidence issues after being left to basically raise herself in the harsh glare of the public eye, and at times it was hard to read, especially in comparison to Beat and his golden boy aura. I was able to get past it because their chemistry is strong and the spice is exactly what we expect from Tessa Bailey, but it did irk me at first.

Tessa Bailey is always an auto-buy author for me, so I was very excited to be granted this ARC. I absolutely loved this book. It was the perfect book to put me in the Christmas spirit. The main characters were so cute!! They are the kind of characters that you can't help but swoon over. I really enjoyed all of the laugh out loud moments this book had, especially between the moms. This is the kind of book that you would expect to see on the big screen for the holiday season. Super cute, light, heartwarming and a quick read. A very special thank you to Netgalley, Avon/Harper Voyager, and Tessa Bailey for providing me this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Ugh. This just was not for me. Tessa Bailey can be so hit or miss for me. I think my first red flag was the fact that the main characters are named Beat and Melody. My second gripe is that the main character's "trauma" was ridiculous. The woe is me attitude just did not work.
Also, this is minimally a holiday romance and the cover does it a big disservice.

Tessa Bailey is back for the holidays! And I couldn’t be happier. This story brought me back to the days of VH1 and MTV TRL. Following two famous people’s children as they navigate a comeback was all together hilarious and sweet. If you’re looking for a read that will have you laughing and jolly this winter, this one will do the trick.
Thank you Avon for my gifted copy.
