This was so good! It made me laugh and smile and ache for the main characters and want to hang out with them. All the things I look for in a book!

Melody and Beat are children of the members of the Steel Birds but they met only once during an interview when they were in their teens because the group broke up before they were born. Now they are 30 and they both remember that brief encounter and the connection they felt. Beat seems like he has it all together but everything is not what it seems and he is desperate for money, desperate enough to consider a reality show proposal. Melody lives a quiet life and does not want the attention but it is Beat asking and for some reason she trusts Beat. As they embark on the reality show they break the internet and have only each other to trust. But will they trust themselves enough to share everything with each other before the world interferes? And will their mothers actually agree to reunite?

Loved this!

This was a wildly silly book from start to finish. The premise is about the main characters, Beat and Melody ( terrible names were just one of many problems), who are children of famous band members that broke apart, and in parent-trap fashion, these two try to make a reunion happen. The plot has nothing to do with the holidays, and it seems like the author forgot that this was even marketed as a holiday read. There are several tropes/kinks throughout, one being an edging kink that feels very out of left field. The edging kink is built on the MMC always getting what he wants and has never been denied. It's extremely difficult to be sympathetic to someone who has never been told no. Among many other cheesy lines, there is mention of a Disney movie that does not belong in a spicy romance. This was a miss-me for me, but if you enjoy instant love and cheesy romcoms, this will be a hit!

ATTENTION: this is NOT a "holiday romance". Yes, WRECK THE HALLS takes place during the holiday season and mentions a deadline that coincides with Christmas, but this did not read like a holiday romance to me at all. There is none of the holiday-themed antics or set-ups that I expect, so if you're looking for holiday charm this ain't it. But if you're looking for a super-steamy romance that happens to be set in December? Go for it.

Melody and Beat are two characters I really loved, but they both read a bit too perfect for me. Their relationship is all swoony longing with no hiccups and fated mates and that's just not my thing. WRECK THE HALLS felt kind of predictable to me, right down to the bad-guy-gets-pie-in-the-face-in-final-scene.

This was an okay read for me, but not a great read and definitely not a Holiday Romance.

2.5 Stars. Melody and Beat are the children of 90s female rock band Steel Birds who famously broke up on stage. The pair met once as teenagers and then 14 years later are brought in by reality tv producers to try an reunite their moms. As the pair spends time together feelings grow but secrets and their pasts keep both from being able to fully trust the other.

I was expecting this to be a very steamy hallmark movie, but alas. There was absolutely nothing in this book that felt remotely Christmassy. Literally it could have taken place in august and you only would needed the references to being cold to being hot. The book did nothing to make me care about the reunion of the Steel Birds and from Tessa’s forward I was expecting the mom’s friendship with each other to be a much bigger plot point. I really did not like Melody or Beat and therefore was not overly invested in their relationship. I find it hard to believe that Melody meeting Beat once as a teenager made her unable to have a relationship for 14 years. I hated that the book ended in a proposal after the pair had only known each other 24 days. I did finish the book, but overall, this one was just a big ole miss for me.

Thank you to Avon and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It's my favorite time of year when Tessa Bailey releases another Christmas themed stand alone. The spice in this is enough to keep anyone warm for the holidays. She is my favorite automatic buy author and this again doesn't disappoint.

This took me a little while to get into, but then I ended up really enjoying it! Melody and Beat have a bond because of their mothers despite only meeting once as teens. Their mothers’ band split and they’ve been enemies ever since. Melody and Beat are brought together to film a reality show as they try to get their mothers to reunite. The show goes viral and they garner nonstop attention. I loved seeing their connection and they had some steamy moments! The ending with their moms was lots of fun!

Pretty sure I just read a fated mates contemporary romance and twas wildly enjoyable. Beat and Melody 4 Eva.

At first this story could seem really far fetched and maybe a bit much, but Tessa wrote it and therefore it works and it works WELL.

Beat and Melody are the only two people who can understand what it’s like to grow up in the shadows of their rock star mothers who had a historic blow-up resulting in the band breaking up. So when they meet at 16 and feel a pull towards each other only to not see each others again for over a decade, it’s a bit strange to have this magnetic pull towards each other still….right?

They are approached to live stream their lives for the next three weeks in an attempt to bring their moms back together for one final performance and as they spend almost every hour together for Wreck the Halls, the country is quickly falling for them as a couple.

I loved this book and it was the perfect kind of wildly ridiculous yet entirely charming story you could want heading into the holiday season.

Tessa Bailey does not disappoint. Her books are all so well written! Wreck the Halls was so cute and the perfect holiday read. I definitely plan to re read it again closer to the holidays!

I’ve read a lot of Tessa Bailey books and I’ve really enjoyed them. She has a formula that works for her and it’s solid. I was especially excited to read a holiday book from her too! This one didn’t disappoint- it had all of the chemistry & fun of a Tessa Bailey book with all the drama as well. I’d like to see her write more seasonal books for sure!

Thank you @avonbooks for a copy of this. I enjoyed this and really enjoy Melody as a character. Insta love/connection is always a tough one for me. I get that Mel and Beat share similar with being constantly hounded by paparazzi growing up but that's really it. Their interaction was cute and I was curious why the band broke up. I expected more holiday in the story but it's almost nonexistent other then the reunion on Christmas Eve.

This was a delightful story! I loved that they were the offspring of a major music group. They then have to come together and have to get the two women together for a reunion, which is an impossible task. They hate each other and have refused even talking for years. What ignites is spicy hot tension, torn feelings and overcoming regret and past wrongs. I loved this story. They were both just fantastic characters. The story was fast paced and lovely!

CW: swears and open door scenes!

2 stars...

I tried to like it but to be honest I almost DNF'ed it multiple times. I was bored during it, it wasn't very Christmassy, especially for something that is supposed to be a Christmas romance. Plus the blackmail part was just very in your face instead of the romance being front and center. There wasn't too much connection between the main characters but apart I liked them just fine.

Wreck the Halls by Tessa Bailey is absolutely a fun read for the holiday season. I can't of one thing I didn't enjoy about it. This novel features two children of former rockstars (who now despise each other), Melody and Beat. From the very first time these two meet (as teens), you can sense the connection between these two. Then, fast forward years later and when confronted with an opportunity to reunite their mothers and make money that would each help them out of a situation, they reconnect and the sparks fly immediately. There's absolutely zero chance these two are going to be just friends, and I loved every second of their romance.

Bailey created two characters who just worked for me. Melody is hilarious and honest and unique. Beat is protective and kind and down to earth. The two of them together are an odd but perfect pairing.

Despite some rough patches relating to trust, these two find their happily ever after and I truly was happy for that and yet sad for it to be over. This novel was funny and fun and sexy and a wonderful way to spend a weekend close to the winter holidays.

Wreck the Halls has quickly become my new top pick among Tessa Bailey's novels, a delightful surprise considering I never thought anything could surpass my love for It Happened One Summer.

Meet Melody and Beat, the offspring of two legendary rock stars, comprising the famous duo known as the Steel Birds, whose epic rift left fans longing for a reunion. However, Octavia and Trina, the two mothers, haven't exchanged a word since they were both pregnant with the now grown-up Melody and Beat. Despite having met just once during their teenage years, an unspoken connection was formed between the two children.

In adulthood, Beat basked in the spotlight, while Melody chose a more discreet path, dedicating herself to the restoration of rare books and avoiding the limelight. Nevertheless, the pressures of fame take a toll on both of them.

Their lives take an unexpected turn when a producer approaches them with a proposition: to star in a reality show where they must collaborate to reunite their estranged mothers for a Christmas Eve concert. Can they bridge the gap between their mothers and, in the process, help themselves?

Prepare to embark on a thrilling journey alongside Melody and Beat as they attempt the seemingly impossible. These main characters are not only compelling but also exceptionally kind-hearted. Their unique bond, rooted in their mothers' shared fame, serves as a source of strength as they navigate the challenges posed by their mothers, the media, and even the possibility of encounter with a cult and a bunch of Santas.

A special thanks to NetGalley and Avon for providing me with an advanced copy in exchange for my candid review.

I don’t care that it’s October, Christmas books are my jam. I like to sprinkle them between my other books and this might be my top Christmas book of the season! I loved this one!
.
Here’s something I realized about myself. I love a reunion or a reboot. So when people say why are there so many tv show reboots….it’s me, hi, I’m the problem it’s me! I will watch any reboot or listen to any reunion band. That’s the premise of this one. Melody’s mom and Beat’s mom or mortal enemies, but once they were best friends and the members of the famous band, Steel Birds. When their hit song, Rattle the Cage from 1993 goes viral on TikTok the pressure is there for a reunion. The only two who could possibly get these two to reunite for one song on Christmas Eve is their adult children, but there’s a catch. The attempt to get them to reunite will be filmed 12 hours a day for a live stream reality show.
.

@tessabaileyisanauthor writes in a way that I can picture every aspect of her story. I want to hear Rattle the Cage, but she also writes it like an anthem I’ve known my whole life. Plus I felt like I was watching The Today Show when they were filming. She creates an entire world in her writing!

This is so much fun and I adored Beat and Melody. I fell in love with these two. Christmas stores are usually pure fluff, which don’t get me wrong I love but this one was a lot more!

Huge thank you to @avon @netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was a cute read, though i will say that since this is marketed as a holiday romance I expected more holidays in it. I liked the story and it was a fun read.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. I have read many Tessa Bailey novels and loved them. This one was solid but not my favorite (The Bellinger Sisters is Tessa Bailey at her best). This one was cute, but not really Christmas themed as promised. I liked the premise...children of former rock stars who fall for each other, but the rest kind of fell apart. The relationship development was abrupt and not that believable.

Don't let the cartoon cover fool you on this one! It was spicyyyy! I love Tessa Bailey and was so excited to read this new release. This was marketed as a Christmas romance but It really was only a sprinkle of Christmas lol. The plot though was so interesting and fun. Two ex rockstars and their kids trying to pull a parent trap on them. I loved Beat, Tessa always creates the best soft lover boy characters and that was him. This was one of those books that had a great plot and great spice! I loved!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an early copy of Wreck the Halls by Tessa Bailey.

This has been one of my most anticipated releases of the year as I love a Christmas romance book and will read anything by Tessa Bailey.

This was an enjoyable romance following two children of 90’s rock stars who come together to star in a reality tv show about trying to get their parents back together to perform one last time.

I think where this missed for me is that I don’t care for reality television so their instant fame was kind of confusing for me. It also was not as Christmasy as I had expected. Overall a fun read but not a new favorite.
