No I believe in soulmates and love at first sight? Jury's still out on that one. Does this book make me want to believe? Absolutely, yes. Melody and Beat are, for all intents and purposes, rock star royalty. They are totally nepo babies, but in the best, chaotic way possible. The children of the front women of Steel birds, think Fleetwood Mac mixed with Heart, Mel and Beat have grown up there whole lives being asked about something that has not existed since before they were born. They have spent their entire lives dodging questions and pretending for not just the public, but also themselves. In reality, the 2 have only met once before. So, why do they both feel like the other is a part of their live in a way they can't explain?

Tessa Bailey romances always make me a bit giddy and this was no exception. The main characters are that type of adorable that makes me want to become a fangirl (the irony is not lost on me after reading the book). I loved the entire universe of "Wreck the Halls" and would do a great many things to hear more of this story, including, but not limited to a certain producer and camera man.

While this wasn't my absolute fav Tessa Bailey book I did like that this story followed the two children of famous rockstars who break up because of a man. Tasked with reuniting the two former friends for a Christmas concert, Beat and Melody find themselves working together on a reality tv special as they track down their mothers and try to make a reunion happen. Spicy with Tessa's trademark humor and heat, this was not the usual holiday romance but I was here for it! Good on audio too. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

Thank you, Harper Collins and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Tessa Bailey could publish her grocery list and I would likely find something to gush about, but I had true hesitations before reading this one. I was worried it would be cheesy Christmas rom-com and I just was not in the mood. But to my delighted surprise, this book is just peak Tessa Bailey. It’s funny, exciting, Fleetwood Mac-type meets reality tv, bocce ball tournaments, random commune, with not a single moment of hallmark Christmas movie.

Chef’s kiss. If you *get* Tessa Bailey, this is your winter read!

This is not a sappy holiday romance…it’s better! I went into this book blind as a longtime Tessa Bailey fan and was really surprised! This holds its own even outside of the holiday season.
Beat Dawkins and Melody Gallard are the adult kids of a legendary rock duo, now estranged. Despite teenage crushes, they’ve grown up separately, living their own lives until approached by a producer with a deal hard to turn down. They team up for a live-streamed reality show as they work to get their moms to reunite for a Christmas Eve reunion concert. Not exactly an easy task when these rock and roll divas — one a philanthropist living in luxury and the other, a rough and tough *not* cult leader — haven’t spoken in three decades. Shenanigans, blackmail, feisty Santas and hot mics ensue…but will it all be enough to reunite the Steel Birds?
This was a fun read that can go at any time of the year, but has that added holiday bonus of ending on Christmas Eve.
Thank you to Avon Books and Harper Voyager for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. This is out now.

Tessa Bailey knocked this one out of the park. The premise is that a child 9f a famous and rich rock star is being blackmailed and in order to pay the blackmailer he agrees to a reality show. This is when is gets good. While Beat and Melody participate in the show, the unexpected happens over and over again. The HEA is adorable and the story from beginning to end is a joy to read.

A Holiday book about music royalty. Here are reasons to read the holiday contemporary book:

Rockstars children - The children of rockstars from the band Steel Birds meet for the first time when they are 16.

Estranged - the band broke up when the mothers were pregnant and now the families are estranged

Reality Show - The children, Melody and Beat, are tapped to tap a live reality show with one mission

Reunion concert - to reunite Steel Birds on Christmas Eve

This was my first Tessa Bailey book and honestly I was hooked on this one. There is a LOT of spice as the author does describe herself as writing R rated books. Also, while this book does take place in December, it isn’t totally a Christmas or Holiday book overtly. However, you really do start to root for Melody and Beat’s story, both with each other and as they relate to their mothers. Honestly, I would read more Tessa Bailey books for sure.

I am a huge @tessabailey fan and am excited to tell y'all about this one! It's a terrific holiday read, equal parts heartwarming and hot 🥵 5⭐️

✔️ Teaming Up
✔️ Forced Proximity
✔️ Opposites

The premise sucked me in immediately! Beat and Melody are the kids of two rock stars who have been estranged since before they were born. They agree to try to get their moms to reunite for one big concert event, though it won't be easy. Dealing with attraction to each other isn't easy either!

I loved everything about this one. The plot worked well and felt very original; Beat and Melody were such fun characters. I loved how they understood each other from the start and had impacted each other's lives after a chance meeting when they were teens.

The chemistry between them was through the roof and, in classic Tessa fashion, the filthy mouth on Beat was chef's kiss! Just perfection.

And Melody - she was a delight too! I love a funny bookworm. The suprisingly filthy mouth made her aspirational - I kinda want to be her.

This is one of my most favorite Tessa reads, along with It Happened One Summer and Fix Her Up! Pick this one up - it's perfect for the holiday season, especially if you want a spicy one 😂.

It's like Daisy Jones and the Six and The Charm Offensive met up and combined to make the sweetest rock n roll adjacent, reality tv spectacle, living with parental trauma story ever. I really loved it and read it in a day. I appreciated that although the plot was fast-paced with some outlandish elements (galas and then a hippie/santa faceoff fight) the communication between the main characters remained a focus and didn't get overshadowed.

Tessa Bailey and the holidays go well together! This is a cute read to get cozy with. This has the classic Tessa Bailey charm, with good characters and fun settings.

Oh boy y’all! Don’t let this cutesie cover full you. It is chalked full of spice! 🔥

Briefly this is a holiday rom-com about the adult children of two former rock stars who team up to convince their estranged mothers to play a Christmas Eve concert…

First of all naming your children after music is the cutest…Beat and Melody just go together. 😂 I loved the premise of reuniting their mothers because it felt like a bit of an adventure story. The chemistry between Beat and Melody flies off the pages. And let me tell you Tessa Bailey does not skimp on the steam. 🥵
The only issue I had was the miscommunication trope. I’m just not a fan. Overall this was an enjoyable romance with just a hint of Christmas.

Wreck the Halls might be my favorite Tessa Bailey book to date. I absolutely loved this unique Christmas romance. I am not normally a fan of the insta-love trope, but it worked perfectly for me in this book. Since Beat and Melody share a unique life experience of being children of rock duo, Steel Birds, their connection made sense to me. They share so many of the same frustrations and struggles and I do think that sort of shared experience could make an intense connection with another person. Throw in Beat's protective nature and the way he supported Melody from a far by standing up for her with the press, I was all in.

And Melody might be one of my favorite heroines ever written. She is goofy and a little shy, has the best one-liners and is just very relatable through her vulnerable moments. I loved how the public embraced her this time around and was just as enamored with her as they were. She was wise beyond her years and just an amazing character.

Beat and Melody together were just perfect. The only thing that could have made this better would have been an epilogue 10 years down the road where they have a crew of babies with corresponding musical names because Melody would be the best mom and Beat as I dad I cant EVEN.

I also loved the Trina and Octavia story line too and them finding their way back to each other. The whole group of them deserve all the happiness in the world.

This one is truly a forever favorite. I finished the book and immediately downloaded the audiobook because I could listen to their story 100 times.

thank you so much to Avon for the early copy for review; all thoughts are my own.

Melody and Beat will go down as one of my favorite romantic couples. I mean even their names are adorable.

This isn’t a typical “Christmas” book, the plot is surrounded by the holiday and what Melody and Beat need to accomplish which may be next to impossible. What you ask? Getting their rock moms back together and performing after a 30 year hiatus.

So many funny moments and some teary ones as well.

I am a sucker for epilogue and really wanted one for this one. Not sure if it’s because the publisher nixed or because I was reading an ARC, but I wish there was one.

Overall I enjoyed and Tessa never disappoints with her writing.

An ARC was provided via Net Galley for an honest review.

This story is kind of brilliant in its layers. Rock and roll queens Octavia and Trina have an epic band split while both pregnant. Over the years, these two children, Beat and Melody, are the ones in the spotlight as media try to get the story behind the split and a reunion of the band. When he's put in a situation that he needs to make a reunion happen, Melody is on board, no question. But the more things get out of hand, the more they have to sort out within themselves as well as for their mothers.

This was a wild look at what fame and residual fame does to kids, teens and adults plus the dangers of media fascination with celebrities. Tessa Bailey doesn't know how to write a disappointing book and she didn't start here. It was a brilliant read.

Wreck the Halls is a fun holiday novel that follows the children of two former members of the rock group, Steel Birds, Trina Gallard, and Octavia Dawkins. Melody Gallard, the daughter of Trina, first meets Beat Dawkins, the son of Octavia, when they are younger and are now reuniting when they are offered money to reunite the Steel Birds. Trina and Octavia are complete opposites and had a falling out years ago, so reuniting them is easier said than done. The story not only follows the two moms, but also Melody and Beat getting to know each other and possibly connect on a romantic level.

The motivations for Melody and Beat may be different, but they were both equally enjoyable. Beat initially appears to have the more interesting storyline and character traits, but Melody held her own as a character. The two of them sign up to live stream their journey to reunite their moms so there is the on-camera aspect to add to the off-camera action. I am not sure why recording could not have worked instead as this streaming just makes more sense compared to live streaming. It was not a huge detail as the focus is on Melody and Beat interacting on screen. There was instalove, which is not my favorite, but their chemistry was very apparent. As this is a Bailey novel, there is a lot of spiciness. If you enjoy spice, then this is a great novel for you. Overall, this was a great novel and I look forward to reading more from the author in the future.

**I give a special thank you to Netgalley and the publisher, Avon, for the opportunity to read this enjoyable novel. The opinions expressed are completely my own.**

Another fantastically spicy romp from Ms. Bailey. I adored the character she created with Melody, though I found Beat a bit forced. Good side characters with the moms, and the camera/production crew. Not much of a holiday feel to it, but fun nontheless.

Thank you Avon and Netgalley for the ARC!

If you love laugh out loud romcoms, then Tessa is your gal! She is great at writing quirky, unique and fun books that’ll definitely kick up the heat alongside her special brand of humor!

Wreck the Halls has open door romance, which we expect from TB, but there were also lots of sweet and swoony moments too that really just make you smile. This is a fun holiday season romcom to pick you up when you’re feeling the winter sads ☺️

This was not what I was expecting and that is totally fine. I was expecting a story with lots of holiday but it was more winter themed. The reality show and reconciliation of their mothers takes center stage and happens to conclude on Christmas Eve.
Loved the romance between these two second Gen enemies. They didn't really know each other but met in passing and had a big connection. But since their mom's hated each other over reasons that will make you gasp at the end, they weren't allowed to get close.
This reality show that would help them both out financially when they needed it was definitely the close proximity their fascination with each other needed to ignite.
I always enjoy Tessa's spice since she tends to highlight more than just vanilla. Beat has a preference I see rarely in books but hear about a lot.
And that humor was definitely up my alley. Looking at the cover she has a New Girl Zoey look to her and she had some quirk to her.
Beat and Melody are two such unique and definitely musicians' children's names.
"Do you prefer spaghetti or beignets?” “That’s like asking me to choose a favorite child. I simply cannot.” “You’re a good mother.”"

❄️Add to your holiday TBR for something a little different
Rating : 4.5⭐

Thank you avonbooks for the e-ARC for my honest and voluntary review.
